Chapter 11 - border settlement.

In a small outpost settlement near the border of the nation a different meeting was about to take place.

"Rose, you've been at this for hours already. Take a break. Let's grab some lunch, please?"

June pleaded, her blonde hair glistening slightly in the sun as she stood in the doorway to Rose's small hut.

Without raising her eyes off the letter she was writing, Rose responded in a her usual, slightly dismissive tone,

"Exactly. It's only been a couple hours. We can have Lunch later."

June sighed and leaned slightly against the doorway of the hut.

"What could possibly be so important that you need to spend six hours-"

"Six hours, already?!"

Rose interrupted and shot up from her chair, some of the more precariously placed papers falling off the table and fluttering to the ground like leaves in the fall. Grabbing her coat she rushed out of her hut, her crimson hair flowing behind her like a trail of brilliant red roses, or blood.

"Rose! The meeting can wait a little, you have plenty of time to get there. Just come and grab some lunch with me first."

June ran after her, through the small village they had set up their camp in. Some of the villagers seemed to flinch as Rose passed by, while others smiled or waved warmly. Her red hair seemed like an omen, though it was hard to tell what type.

"I want to get their early. I have some things to set up first."

She said to her friend who was reluctantly chasing after her.

"You have an hour."

Her friend stated. Rose paused, for a moment, though just a moment.

"Is it really a bad thing that I want to be early?"

"Well… no, but-"

Rose cut her off again,

"Then I'll be early."

June paused a moment before continuing,

"You still need to eat."

"I'll do it after."

June just sighed and sped up slightly, Rose's red hair, caught by the wind flew into her face making her face and made her stop.

"Could you at least tye your hair back?"

Rose paused for a moment,

"No."
