After the one-sided spider slaughter started, mother began to lose strength; her attacks were weaker than the first one.
"The third sphere is about to explode; what will mother do now? The next one for sure will be smaller! Can't I share my mana with Mom?"
As I was lost in my thoughts, mother had already started conjuring the next sphere, and indeed it was smaller than the previous one.
It was approximately two-thirds of the previous size.
"Shit, can I really do nothing more than just look at the current situation?"
Looking at the sphere, I understood that this time around half or more of the spiders will run out. The spider's general will still not be able to come out.
While still worrying about how to help mom and not paying attention to her, I did not notice that the sphere in question was not like the others; the structure, the color, and even the scarp were completely different.
Once the third dark sphere exploded, the next one came right away.
"What do I do now? A lot of spiders are running out!"
"...Wait, why is this sphere not running out?"
Confused I looked back at Mother, but at first she looked confused as well, like she didn't understand, or more like she didn't expect something like this to happen.
Noticing something was odd, I looked below where mother was flying, right to the mountain of spiders' corpses, but I found something odd in it.
There was something like a shadow pool full of fangs eating on them.
"What is that!?"
I exclaimed! surprising the maid inside the room with my unexpected, disgusted expression.
"My queen, is there something wrong?"
A maid asked, approaching me, Sometimes I lose focus from overreacting to something I saw and accidentally disconnect with the spider I was using.
"No, it's nothing. Soon everything will be over, so prepare something to eat for when I will be back."
"As you wish."
She replied before heading out of the room; a few spiders blocking my room started following her.
"Obviously they would follow her; whoever is controlling them is not planning to let me interfere in any kind of way. Anyway, let's go back."
I said before reconnecting my vision to that of a spider, and to my surprise, what I saw was countless balls with an ominous, angry face eating the spiders.
Looking at Mother, I could see her smiling while controlling and conjuring more and more of these strange spheres.
"What is going on here?"
Unable to fully grasp the situation, I was left speechless at the apocalyptic-like scene in front of me.
Shared spiders running randomly around the place, others screaming in agony while being eaten by the huge balls it was like seeing how mother was once in front of the other.
A heartless, cold, and cruel queen, feared by many enemies but respected by all the allies.
That scene reminded me of what being the daughter of the chaos really meant.
After what looked like an eternity in that apocalypse, the spider generals finally showed up with a dramatic ingress.
"Well, I cannot say that the person who is controlling them doesn't know how to show off."
The moment mom saw them, she started randomly flying around the ruin.
"What is she doing? I don't understand!"
I thought after mother stopped flying, she landed at around 3 meters from the generals.
None of the two parties wanted to make the first move, so they just looked at each other for a while; I, in the meantime, had switched Spider to have a better look at the incoming fight.
Looking around, I could still see the shadow pool eating all the spider's dead body. Looking closely, I thought mother was the one to control it because it was just eating all the spiders around her, but it completely ignored her.
After a couple of seconds looking at each other, the spiders general in the rear started launching poisonous balls at mom, but she stayed still, completely ignoring them.
At the same time, the front of the generals rushed at her.
"I see, so he chose to divide them in this way: by making the spiders in the back support the spiders in the front whose role will be that of a tank and as damage dealing, interesting.
But I think Mom already had thought of this possibility, so she stopped flying. How stupid I was! not being able to even think of something so obvious."
Lost in my thoughts, I didn't notice that mother disappeared from the fight and that the spiders who charged at her were not able to move anymore.
"What is going on? Why can't they move?"
I switched my vision with one of the spider generals to get a close look at the situation.
To my surprise, I noticed a thin spider thread. It was so thin that it was almost impossible to notice. Looking around me, I could see the thread was pretty much everywhere.
"So this is why she was flying randomly before the fight started."
The only thing I was left to do was to find where mother was. I could still see the shadow pool, so she definitely didn't run away, but where exactly was she?
After some time I suddenly saw a shadow running at high speed to the ceiling; looking upwards, I saw a mother flying above our heads.
For a while she did not do anything, just looking at us. At some point she flew towards a general and started mocking him.
"Hello, spiders!!! How have you been? All the time trapped in this place, thanks to my trap! I hope you had it difficult! Ahahah."
She mocked the spiders, making them really pissed off.
"Well, this is something embarrassing to see, so I will just go back now and wait till this fight is over."
I said before disconnecting my vision from that of the spider.
Once I opened my eyes again, I was in my room, and the spiders who were blocking the door were kneeling in front of me.
"My Queen, we are terribly sorry for what we did! Please give us a punishment!"
The generals kneeling in front of me exclaimed in unison.
"What is going on?"
Confused I asked an arachne maid to explain the current situation.
"Right before her highness woke up, the spiders blocking the room door regained consciousness and recalled all the behaviors they had thus far."
"How long have they been keening for?"
"Right after her highness went to sleep again."
"That long!"
"Anyway, I don't think there is any need for me to punish you anymore!"
The spiders started looking at each other, unhappy for what I said.
"My queen, if I may say, I find it not right to not receive any punishment after what we did."
The same general replied to me.
"You think so? But from my point of view, it's also not correct for me to punish you when you were under the control of someone else. Is something that mother told me not to mention that you guys have been keening for the whole time."
"...But"
"If you really still feel guilty, then try your best to grow stronger so something like this will not happen again!"
I said, interrupting the general. Once they heard my last command, they started shedding tears. Looking around, I could see that even the maids were crying as well, so I decided to let them be for a while before giving them an order.
"Alright, all of you go back to your workplace, and you come with me to pick up mother."
I said as I was heading out of my room.
"My queen, if I may ask, I would like to know what kind of person your mother is."
The general asked me with a doubtful look in his eyes. Well, it was not like I didn't understand his curiosity. You suddenly get the notice that your queen's mother was there; it's normal for a subordinate to be curious, so I just replied with the minimum necessary.
"She was somebody far stronger than the gods themselves; many would say she was a cruel and heartless tyrant empress, but to us she was the most sensible and kind person in the world. She helped me and my younger sister in many ways, not only in work aspects but also in personal and private life."
"You have a little sister!?"
"Yes, I do, of Mother Childerns, me and her, where the last she had. Compared to the other children, we both liked to be with her. matter of fact, I never saw any of my older siblings."
"Wow, all of this information is too hard to digest. I mean, we all thought that you were born in this place; we never expected that was not the case."
The general replied with a shocked look on his face. I could not imagine how he and the other felt, so I didn't dare to say anything more.
