Another week had passed and the editing of "Shape of you" Music video was already done. And the video was released and it was performing well. Landon had Managed to take the music world by Storm. A young solo artist who was signed to a newly made record label was topping the charts with "Shape of you" at number one and "Rebirth " at no 16. Not only was this a statement but it was a warning as well as both tracks had one thing in common "written and produced by Landon Asher".
This was a warning stating that all he really needed was himself to make a hit song and no one else. Rachel on the other hand was loving this, A artist who was also a producer and had so much confidence in his own work, something like this was rare in the singing side of music. Normally singers had writers and this was common knowledge, there are quite a few singers who wrote all their work. The most noticeable before Landon was "Prince" one of the greatest pop icons on earth. And now, by a chance of luck. Rachel signed the next "Prince" under her record label.
She slowly walks into the recording studio amd there she finds Landon who was busy yet again on a song. The song had a smoothing guitar sound to it, the Chorus was Landon praising a potential love interest as she could hear the words "girls like you" being consistently repeated over and over. She slowly enters the room trying not to disturb Landon, but he notices her and pause the song.
"Rachel." He greats with excitement.
"Landon." She answered back with a smile as she leans over."why'd you pause that song? I was starting to enjoy it. It's catchy." She says calmly.
"Yeah, I think so too. It's called 'Girls like you'(Maroon 5). I think I'll include it on the Deluxe version of the album." He said playfully.
Rachel was caught off guard but what he had just said. "Deluxe? You haven't even released the remaining three singles of the album yet and you're already planing the Deluxe version? You're one weird kid."
Landon immediately responded calmly. "Lost time is never found. So I can't afford to waist much of it."
"You know, sometimes I even question if you're a kid or not. " Rachel said looking at him with admiration. "People you're age are usually drunk over the fame. Take Justin for example, he bought a monkey just to abandon it somehere in Europe. Who does that?"
"Not me, that's for sure. So you can stop worrying." He answered laughing.
"Speaking of Justin, did you hear the interview?"
"You mean where they asked him about me and Shawn Mendes and he responded with 'who's Shawn Mendes and Landon Asher ?' " Landon responded without a cre in the world.
"Yeah, that one. I saw some posts about it and people are already comparing you guys to each other."
"Yeah. I figured that's the case, I mean it makes sense. We're almost the same age, all come from Canada and all sing. It was only a matter of time."
Rachel looking at him couldn't help but feel like the kid was a wired case or was this what geniuses where like? Did they care less about what anyone who isn't on their kevel thought? Or was Landon just too calm. "You know Landon, most people would be going crazy at this point. You just compared to Justin Drew Bieber. The same Justin who people call the greatest pop artist of the modern Era. And yet, you're simply never minding the whole issue."
Landon, still unbothered by the whole thing ignores Rachel's comment.Rachel's eyes widened in amazement as she stared at Landon, her expression a mix of confusion and admiration. "Landon, you're...you're really not fazed by this comparison to Justin Bieber, are you?" she asked, her voice laced with a hint of curiosity.
Landon shrugged, his focus still on the song playing in the background. "Why would I be? I'm just making music, Rachel. I'm not trying to compete with anyone else. If people want to compare us, that's their prerogative."
Rachel shook her head, chuckling. "You're...you're a unique snowflake, Landon. Most artists would kill to be mentioned alongside Justin Bieber."
Landon's expression remained calm, his eyes lighting up as he listened to the music. "I think Nicki Minaj would be a great fit for this song. Her style would really complement the beat. Do you think we could get her on the track?"
Rachel laughed, shaking her head. "You're something else, Landon. Okay, let's focus on getting Nicki Minaj on the track. I'll see what I can do."
Landon's eyes sparkled with excitement as he leaned forward. "Speaking of which, I've been thinking about doing a small tour around Canada a few months from now, after I release my debut album. Just a handful of shows, nothing too crazy. What do you think?"
Rachel's expression turned thoughtful. "That sounds like a great idea, Landon. A small tour would be a great way to connect with your fans and promote your album. We could start with a few shows in major cities like Toronto, Vancouver, and Montreal."
Landon nodded enthusiastically. "Exactly! I've been thinking about that too. And maybe we could also do some smaller venues in other cities, like Halifax or Calgary. I want to make sure I'm reaching out to as many fans as possible."
Rachel pulled out her phone and started typing away. "Okay, let's start making some plans. I'll look into venues and dates, and we can discuss the details further. But I have to say, I'm excited to see where this tour takes you, Landon. You're going to blow up, I just know it."
Landon grinned, feeling a sense of anticipation and excitement. "Thanks, Rachel. I'm just trying to make music that people will enjoy. But it's good to have someone like you on my team, helping me navigate all this."
(What he really means is he'll steal songs from the future that he knows people love.)
A day had passed, and Rachel walked into the studio, a huge smile on her face. "Landon, you won't believe the news I have. I just got a call from Nicki Minaj's team, and she's not only agreed to feature on 'Girls Like You', but she's already recorded her verse."
Landon's eyes widened in surprise, and he let out a whoop of excitement. "No way! That's amazing news, Rachel. Let me hear it."
Rachel nodded, cueing up the track on her phone. Landon's eyes lit up as he listened to Nicki's verse, nodding his head in approval. "This is it, Rachel. This is the song's breakout moment. I can already imagine the music video, the live performances...this is going to be huge."
Rachel beamed with pride. "I knew she'd kill it. Now, let's get to work on finalizing the track. We're going to make this a memorable release."
Landon grinned, feeling like he was on top of the world. "Let's do this, Rachel. Let's make some magic happen."
