Chapter 26 - CHAPTER TWENTY-FIVE

Felix is talking to Ruth's doctor now, just as Jake instructed him; he simply complied.

"Isn't Mikaela's decision hasty?" The doctor then asked.

"That was Mikaela's decision." That's all Felix answered. He was about to leave and needed to return to their home.

He had just finished his part-time job when Jake called him, so he went straight to his mansion, and there he saw Mikaela again.

"I'm leaving now." He said goodbye to the doctor.

The doctor just nodded at him. His undercover work is over, and he wants the other trusted members of the organization to know, as he has a lot of information that he hasn't shared with Jake yet because he knows how his colleague behaves when it comes to knowing and revealing the truth to the Fuego family.

Using his ability that he sometimes doesn't want to use, he still makes use of it. Jake knows his ability, and it's a normal reaction for people to laugh at him and not believe him; that's the reaction of an ordinary person.

He understands that, for him, it was just to solve the mystery surrounding his parents' death. Restless souls troubled him as a child, causing him to dream of things that his young mind couldn't comprehend.

Occasionally, his soul would travel, and he would end up in dimensions he shouldn't have gone to while still alive, until his parents stopped making their presence felt, during which his understanding of the world they inhabited began to expand.

Just when he finally understood everything, he never saw the souls of his parents again, nor the first and second spouses of the very influential Mr. Fuego.

He was taking a significant risk in the global game, risking not only his own life but also the lives of his siblings.

"Did I make a mistake by helping you, Fernan?" He could only ask when he was about to reach him.

"You haven't been showing up for my youngest sibling."

Fernan didn't answer, still following him, because he couldn't be at peace knowing he wanted to bring down the organization that was infested with greed.

Ellese is moving; Thalia will find out the secret you've kept for so long.

"I'm ready for that question, because once Jenny asked me, I couldn't keep it a secret from them either."

You know that each of you has your abilities, Felix. His reminder.

"I know that. Because of that ability, they will be implicated."

Why do you continue to stay silent if you know you have abilities?

"I want them to stand by every decision they make, whatever they are fighting for. Fernan, I would rather not lead them."

The soul accompanying him did not respond; it had been dead for two and nearly three months. He knew that when a soul lingers in the human world for too long, its memory gradually fades, and the reason for its presence on this earthly plane is erased.

I would rather not be too late; I would rather not end up like our parents and those souls who once asked me for help. I will do everything—everything.

He clenched his fist.

"Fernan, you will also perceive the light. You will achieve justice." He could only say that back then.

Don't rush your decision, Felix; your life and the lives of your siblings are at stake. You and Jake will encounter a significant obstacle. Just a reminder for him.

He was already home, and the sun was high when he arrived at their house. He turned the doorknob, and Thalia, who had just woken up, greeted him while sitting on the sofa.

"You slept there, Ta." That was his greeting to his sibling.

Thalia looked at him and folded the blanket. She only nodded.

"I just visited the wake of my schoolmate."

Felix nodded then; he thought Jenny was already preparing their shared breakfast. He'll rest later.

"What time did you and Greg get home?" He asked his sister, Thalia.

"It's already one in the morning." Thalia replied.

He messed up his sibling's hair; they don't have classes today. After messing up his sister's hair, he went into his room; he wanted to rest his body and mind for now.

His ability visited him again; he saw some premonitions, darkness engulfed him, and he ended up in a dense forest. He knew that place; he saw Thalia digging; she had companions with her, and they were in a hurry. He then found himself in the Fuego mansion, where he saw Mikaela hiding someone and Giovane looking for her.

His head was starting to ache from the visions he was seeing in his premonition; he saw his sister Jenny traveling with him and her cousins, her sister Thalia, along with Greg.

The last thing he saw shocked him; he could only make out part of a corpse.

There, he closed his eyes and held his head, which was hurting; that was the after-effect of his ability when he saw a premonition.

Because of the overwhelming amount of information he sees, he finds it difficult to recover from it due to the headache it causes.

"Ah! It hurts!" Felix said that he almost fell off his bed. When he has such a premonition, it is bound to happen soon.

He is a combination of all the abilities of his siblings. He knew this even back then. Because he easily notices it, even though his siblings are still young.

His painful feelings have calmed down, and he keeps revisiting what he sees.

He wondered, especially about Thalia, why she was there in the dense forest at the deepest part, digging, just like what he saw when his cousin passed away.

What are they digging? He couldn't help but think in his mind, "What on earth?" He was also worried about Mikaela back then; he couldn't figure out why she returned to the mansion.

He can't tell who will die for justice, especially with the corpse he sees.

He rested his aching head. He took a deep breath first.
