Chapter 26 - Luxury

The ability [Absolute Hit]—

Each level was an entirely different concept.

Lv.3, in fact, simply added one new rule on top of Lv.2.

As long as the force was launched by Blaine, no matter how small the force, once it was fired, it would hit the target no matter what…

Here came the key point:

At Lv.3, even if the carrier of the "force" suffered fatal damage — for example, an arrow — at Lv.2, if it was destroyed, it would just fall to the ground.

But at Lv.3, it wouldn't.

Even if it were split into two, three, four, or five pieces... unless it was completely annihilated, no matter how small the fragments became, they would still continue flying toward the target!

And they would still hit!

Of course, this was still related to the amount of force behind it.

If the carrier was split into multiple pieces, the power would inevitably weaken — if it was split into tiny fragments, it might no longer have much attack power.

This was a minor flaw of Lv.3 — not a real flaw, because as long as Blaine's power was strong enough and his technique was sharp enough, even molecular-level fragments could kill a person.

Blaine shook his head with emotion, and then he saw the cost to upgrade to Lv.4.

One billion.

Blaine couldn't help clicking his tongue a little, but this price was within his expectations.

If a skill like [Absolute Hit] were ever put on the market, forget about a billion — even a hundred billion, a trillion, or more wouldn't be enough; countless people would fight for it.

Still, don't think Blaine could get this needed one billion easily.

This one billion would have to be earned through missions — and the difficulty was extremely high.

Otherwise, with his current strength, wouldn't it be easier just to rob the rich?

Surely the billionaires of New York would happily pay billions to save their lives.

Unfortunately, that was impossible now.

Blaine glanced at his bank balance.

Upgrading [Absolute Hit] to Lv.3 had cost him a total of 11 million dollars.

His current remaining balance was 39 million.

He looked at the White Snake's Bow in his backpack.

[White Snake's Bow]: Requires 10,000 to strengthen.

Compared to [Absolute Hit], the cost to strengthen the White Snake's Bow was almost negligible.

Blaine clicked to strengthen it five times in a row.

+1, required 10,000.

+2, required 50,000.

+3, required 100,000.

+4, required 200,000.

+5, required 500,000.

Adding it all up, strengthening the White Snake's Bow five times cost a total of 860,000 dollars.

However, what surprised Blaine was that the White Snake's Bow seemed to have undergone some kind of mutation.

[White Snake's Bow (+5)]: After reaching +5 strengthening, attack increase, defense increase, and unlocking an equipment skill.

An equipment skill?

Blaine narrowed his eyes.

He had originally thought strengthening equipment would only increase attack and defense.

He didn't expect it would unlock a new skill.

He clicked to check it out — the White Snake's Bow had gained a skill called [Power of Condensed Arrows].

[Power of Condensed Arrows]: Able to conjure White Snake arrows out of thin air. Up to 100 arrows per day, refreshing every 24 hours.

Blaine scratched his head.

Was the system worried that a proud Bounty Hunter like him would still have to buy arrows, so it gave him this skill?

He felt slightly disappointed.

Sure, the skill was useful, but not exceptionally powerful.

Unless — as he had imagined — it could create enchanted arrows.

Ice arrows, fire arrows, wind arrows, poison arrows...

Imagine pulling the bowstring and arrows made of different elements shimmering with colored light — that would be seriously cool and raise his style points dramatically.

Blaine thought he was dreaming.

But it seemed that this fantasy drove him to search through the system shop — and he really found something similar!

[Elemental Bow]: Priced at 5,000,000. After being strengthened to a certain level, it can conjure elemental arrows, each carrying different elemental damage…

A full five million!

This ultra-expensive bow came with a built-in version of the White Snake's Bow's +5 skill right after purchase, and after further strengthening, could generate true elemental arrows.

It sounded way too cool.

Blaine's mouth twitched.

Damn it, now he really wanted to ditch his trashy White Snake's Bow for the Elemental Bow.

But wouldn't the money he had spent on buying and upgrading the White Snake's Bow be completely wasted?

Damn!

Adding it all up, it was nearly a million dollars — it really hurt his soul.

He had just finished strengthening it, and now he found a better bow.

It was a tough pill to swallow.

Forget it — just buy it!

Gritting his teeth, Blaine directly bought the Elemental Bow.

Luxurious!

Seriously luxurious!

Not just a little extravagant — insanely so!

[Elemental Bow]: Can conjure arrows out of thin air. Up to 300 arrows per day, refreshing every 24 hours. After strengthening to a certain level, it can conjure elemental arrows with various elemental damages...
