Chapter 27 - Training with Jiraya,a large fox

Morning: 7:00 AM – 9:00 AM

The duo did 100 push-ups, 100 squats, and a 3 km run in an open forest area.

After the warm-up was over, Jiraiya made Haruto spar against his brother, Naruto.

They both fought each other using pure Taijutsu. Haruto held back to match Naruto's level, giving his brother valuable experience.

He occasionally switched stances mid-fight, showing Naruto unorthodox rhythm-based footwork. This forced Naruto to adapt, improving his reaction speed.

Afterward, Jiraiya began his lesson.

"If your body moves faster than your mind, you'll never know how you'll end up dead. Now if you wanna—" The lesson stretched on.

Jiraiya explained how to combine stamina with quick thinking and fast reflexes.

Second Phase: 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM

On top of a cliff, Jiraiya taught the kids the hand signs and blood contract for the Toad Summoning Jutsu.

"Wow! You can summon those giant toads?"

"Well yes, Naruto! You can too if you train hard enough."

So the duo began learning the hand signs. Haruto memorized them quicker because of his mental processor talent and Rinnegan.

He began summoning small amphibians early on to practice more.

Naruto failed many times, summoning tadpoles with legs. "Oh come on!"

"You still can't do it, huh?"

"I don't know how, but my chakra seems to be eaten by something." Jiraiya frowned, pulled up Naruto's shirt, and saw the Five Elements Seal on him.

He quickly removed the seal—then threw Naruto off the cliff.

"Naruto!!!" Haruto yelled as he looked down.

"Naruto, talk to the one inside your mindscape!"

---

Inside Naruto's Mindscape

Naruto appeared in a damp place.

He looked behind and saw a huge iron gate in front of him. As he stepped closer, deep red fox-like eyes glared at him.

"Who are you?"

"You don't even know your landlord, huh?"

"I'm here to collect the rent for the past 12 years that you've been living in my body, you fox!"

"Oh, you aren't afraid of me?" The fox came into the light.

"You puny existence isn't afraid of me?"

"Hey, give me my rent."

"Okay... here you go." The fox grinned as Naruto's body was covered in red chakra.

He quickly placed his hands and summoned Gamabunta.

Inside Haruto's Mindscape

Haruto looked around: mountains, cherry blossom trees, and a water lake behind a massive cage.

"What do you want... kid?" the fox said.

"Well, you've been in my body for the last 12 years, maybe... so if you're not going to introduce yourself, I'm gonna be sad."

"I don't care about you, human!" the fox roared.

"Jeez, can't you shut up? I'm right here," Haruto said, pointing at himself.

"You—"

"What, you you? My name is Haruto Uzumaki, you hear me? HARUTO UZUMAKI!"

Cough cough Haruto coughed as he heard, "I'm the Nine-Tails!"

"Wow, what an awful name." The fox's eye twitched. "What did you say, boy!" He slammed his paw down, creating a shockwave.

"Hey! You're inside my body, you know!"

"And if you have nine tails, then your name is also Nine-Tails? I'm a human, no longer Haruto then! Hmph!"

The fox looked irritated. "What do you want, kid?"

"A friend."

The fox stayed silent.

"A friend that's been with me since I was born… can't even share his name? That's rude!"

"Boy... I've killed so many, you can't even count!"

"Oh yeah? I died once."

The fox went quiet as Haruto mumbled, "Can you believe this guy?"

Even though he was nervous, Haruto wasn't going to show fear to Kurama.

"I am… Kurama."

"Kurama? Nice name. My name is Human Kurama."

"You—!"

"Just joking, haha! I'm Haruto Uzumaki. Nice to meet you, Kurama."

"So what do you do in here?"

"Watch you doing stuff."

"What…?" Haruto suddenly felt a wave of discomfort.

"I even know that one time you used a tiss—"

"Enough!"

Kurama laughed out loud as Haruto shouted, "Hey! That's private! Why did you do that?"

"There wasn't anything better to do," Kurama said, pointing around.

"Good point… should've called me, and we could've talked all day." Haruto sat by the cage's entrance.

"Oh kid, aren't you afraid I'll kill you and escape?"

"No, you won't kill me."

"Why?"

"Because it seems like you know what it feels like to leave a loved one behind."

Kurama stayed silent.

"Excuse yourself, kid. I'm tired and wanna sleep."

"Okay, see you again, Kurama!" Haruto vanished. Kurama smirked quietly.

Outside

A huge toad jumped into the air from inside the cliff.

Jiraiya's and Haruto's eyes widened—not from Naruto's feat, but the sheer size of the toad.

Why is Gamabunta here? Jiraiya thought as the toad landed.

"Hmph, Jiraiya… you taught this kid the Summoning Jutsu?"

"Hey! That's my student, not a kid!" Jiraiya said dramatically.

"These two are your students?" Gamabunta asked. Haruto bowed slightly.

"Hello, Mister Toad. I'm Haruto Uzumaki."

"I'm Gamabunta. Nice to meet you, kid."

"And I'm Naruto Uzu—Wahh!!" Naruto slipped mid-introduction and fell.

Haruto caught him and landed beside Jiraiya in one smooth motion.

"Nice, kid," Gamabunta said as Haruto laid Naruto down.

"Thanks, Mister Gamabunta."

"Then I'll be going, Jiraiya… your aunt is cooking. Want to come?"

"Well, it's almost time for lun—" Naruto started, but Jiraiya covered his mouth. "Maybe another time?"

Gamabunta nodded and left.

"What! He was giving us free food!"

"Free food? More like what toads eat," Haruto said, dramatically rolling his eyes.

"Haruto's right, Naruto… would you eat bugs as candy? Bug soup? Cockroach meat in sandwich bread? Yeah, go ahead."

Naruto backed off. "No thanks… I'll eat ramen instead."

"How about barbecue? My treat," Haruto offered. Jiraiya nodded.

Inside the restaurant, they ordered tons of food and drained Haruto's wallet.

A total of 29,000 Ryo was charged.

These monsters… Haruto thought as he glanced at his empty wallet—where a fly flew out.

He cried looking at it.
