Chaewon denied her fate ...she refused to accept it . She told them ,
"I'm the sole heir of my family and a highschooler and whatever this is ,I refuse to get involved".
This statement gave both teams a shock of their lifetime. How could she ?. All the effort they made to convince her was useless.
She has chosen hell over heaven and her decision will crash her out soon .
They allowed her to go back to her family although they were abit disappointed and annoyed . All what they are hoping for is for her to have a change of mind.
"Aishhh, Chaewon...that bitch made a fool out of us " ..Saeron said blushing her hands through her messy hair.
"I felt like knocking her out when she declined the work " ..Mira replied her .
"You guys should calm down, who knows? Maybe she will change her mind like we said earlier and come back " .. Minjae added.
"I have a feeling she won't...that girl is something else ." Yewon responded to Minjae .
"Let just hope for the best " .. Junseok said sitting lazily in an old couch.
As they sat there discussing on their next mission and how to get Chaewon to accept her fate , their phones suddenly began to ring .
"What's this ? .. it's quiet unusual" Junseok said, whilst staring at the profile on his phone screen.
" I think this is an evil spirit who has escaped from the underworld" ...Saeron said with a deep breath.
" And why did we receive such alert ? .. isn't it your job as guardians of the veil ?.. Mira asked.
" I think it's because the human host the spirit is living in her body is in danger " ..Saeron responded.
"Gosh!.. each day , each battle " .. Taeyang added.
"But how do we solve this kinda issue? .. Junseok asked.
"By catching the evil spirit and summoning it out of the woman's body." Saeron replied.
"So, are we going now or what ? .. Taeyang asked .
"No ,let wait for nightfall ... that's when we can fully fight "...Minjae replied.
Meanwhile in the Lim family mansion ,
Chaewon was receiving her punishment for letting them waste energy looking for her .
She began to consider if she made the right choice . Even though she felt the worse whilst living with her family but somehow she felt abit safe.
That very night , they received a visitor, the host for the evil spirit. She is their new house maid . The moment Chaewon saw her , she had a strange unsettling feeling in her .
It felt really weird .. like something was off about her but didn't know why.
The evil spirit was there for just one reason..she found out who Chaewon was and decided to kill her ,so that the veil won't get sealed. She decided to strike at night.
Sooner than expected it was finally nighttime.
" Night has come, guardians and Reapers ... it's time to save the world".. Junseok yelled trying to get their attention.
" aishh, I don't know why I feel so sleepy " Siwon said murmured.
" Get yourself together you jerk "...Saeron replied him.
" Someone check the location of the evil spirit let track that bastard down " ..Yewon said.
They all took their smarkphones and began to check .
" Oh ..my ..godddd! Mira yelled.
" She's at Chaewon's house "..she added.
"Shit, what is she doing over there?... Saeron said with a furious voice.
" Wait, what if she knows who Chaewon is and tries to kill her "... Junseok said.
"That could be true , let rush over there before it's too late "...Minjae said already picking his stuff.
They teleported right inside the mansion and began tracking her ...it lead them straight to Chaewon's bedroom.
They couldn't believe what they witnessed when they got there.
She had already captured Chaewon ..tired her up and was ready to kill her . The bedroom looked like a crime scene ..stuff has been destroyed and was all messy in there.
" Well , well , well... Look who we have here" Saeron said dramatically and draw out her Demon slaying sword .
"Who are you guys ?..the evil spirit asked ..
"We're the party poppers, you can call us your damn karma"..Siwon said with a cheeky laugh. Which made the others smile abit.
" Well,I guess I need to take y'all down as well " the spirit said ...with a small cruel smile on her face.
" I would love to see you try" ... Saeron replied and attacked her .
Minjae and Taeyang joined her ...whilst Siwon and the risk reapers untied Chaewon and took her to the next room.
The evil spirit was stronger than they thought , it was hard to fight at first since ..she slammed both Saeron and Minjae to the wall.
She brought up a sword from nowhere to slay them when both Taeyang and Siwon attacked her from the back . She didn't go down easily , she fought back with them til her last breath.
Finally, Saeron slayed her and summoned the evil spirit and dragged her back to the underworld. The body of the lady layed in awe on the bedroom floor.
Taeyang and Minjae carried the lady and teleported her to a nearby phonebooth and called 911 and left her there.
Back in the Lim family mansion,
Both teams spoke to Chaewon trying to convince her with what just happened that she should just accept her fate.
" The earlier the better , your life is now in danger and the more you resist the more you put yourself and others in danger".. Junseok said.
" I just can't, I mean just think about it ...how could a girl like me become some shaman and save the world .. it's crazy" She replied.
"Aishh, yah! Chaewon, how many peoples are suppose to die for you to see that this is not a joke "..Mira asked her furiously.
" I don't know but my life is still a mess and I just can't take this anymore ... please leave " she replied.
"Yah! you punk ... If it wasn't for us you wouldn't be alive by now ." Saeron yelled at her .
"Enough, let all just leave... if she's saying she can't, let live her alone " Minjae said with a little bit of hope in him.
They all gave Chaewon a last warning stare and disappeared.
She let out a heavy breath she didn't realize she's holding unto.
Meanwhile in a cave in jeju's island ,
Shin Jiwon was watching the entire scene in a mirror. Now she has seen who the child in the prophecy is and her favorite part of them all is the fact that she's resisting to team up with the Guardians and Reapers.
She let out a loud terrifying laugh ...and said,
"Such a fool, she has no idea what she's preventing ".
Then she turned to her side where the other lust demons and guminhos are and added with a broad smile on her face.
" Let consider ourselves winners already ".
They all cheered and began to laugh with Jiwon.
To them , Chaewon's refusal means their victory and they even concluded , they will lure her to their team using her inner emotional struggles.
Days passed ,
And still Chaewon was not ready to accept her fate but fate has a way of getting whatever it want from you no matter what.
One Saturday night, she went out with her best friend from school Bit-na to a nearby acarde with some of their classmates.
While they had fun playing videogames and stuff , two lust demons and 5 gumihos were also on a hunt over there.
Suddenly, they heard peoples screaming and decided to go and see what was happening .Then boom, here they are ..the gumihos busily eating the people's liver and lust demons killing the rest .
They began to scream and run...
Only Chaewon and Bit-na were able to escape from the acarde.
They runned through the streets looking for a place to hide but found none.
Then all of a sudden a whole lot of gumihos appeared from nowhere ready to devour both girls.
They began crying and shouting for help, then Shin Jiwon appeared from nowhere.
It was her plan all along ...to help her and use that to team up with her.
" I can help you but on a condition" she said.
"What is it , please we're ready to do anything just save us. " Bit-na said with a panicking voice.
" I can save just one of you .. because I can't let my family leave here with empty stomach " she replied with a cruel laugh.
Bit-na and Chaewon stepped back with fear.
They held each other's hand harder than before.
"No, please! ...you must save us both .. your family has feed on our classmates ..is that not enough? Chaewon asked her.
"No, and funniest part is, I have to choose who I will save and who will die " Jiwon responded and sat on a nearby chair.
"But, firstly am going to allow you both to choose who I should save and who I shouldn't." she added with a broad smile on her face.
" Please save Chaewon" Bit-na said with tears flowing on her cheeks .
"Bit-na! .. Chaewon yelled at her whilst crying too.
"It's okay, just save her ... maybe it's my destiny to die today ." Bit-na added.
Chaewon held her hand and shook her head in disagreement to it .
"No, if somebody needs to die today it's definitely me." she said to Jiwon.
"Pathetic, well I also agree with your friend, Chaewon.. it's her destiny to die today" Jiwon said and let out a cruel laugh ..joined by the other gumihos and lust demons.
Bit-na looked miserable and her body trembled with fear and panick as she cry her soul out .
"Attack her! Jiwon shouted, and all the gumihos attacked Bit-na .
"Please! Stopp .. please I beg you " Chaewon cried out loud and went on her knees looking at her best friend from childhood die horribly right infront of her.
She began recalling all the memories she had with her ..the fun stuff they did together..how cheerful Bit-na was ..the bike rides, going to play games, being protected by her and even treating her like her own sister. She hopelessly cried out loud.
She was filled with guilt , she felt hopeless and weak for not being able to protect her friend.
Jiwon got up and went straight to her, knelt beside her and whispered to her in mockery tone.
" You did a great job by letting us have your friend today ...thank you "
Then let out a loud laugh cruelly and disappeared with the rest of the gumihos and lust demons.
All that Jiwon did was to make her hate herself and blame herself for her friend's death ...so that they could lure her emotionally to their team.
Chaewon sat on the floor holding Bit-na's lifeless body and cried all her tears out.
Soon the Guardians and Reapers appeared there. They were watching the scene from afar and was instructed by the Guardian of the realm to do nothing, because that was Chaewon's punishment for refusing to accept her fate.
"You guys are late , why ? you were always on time when you were needed the most , but why today ? Huh why?.... Chaewon protested.
"Because we came with a bus from jeju's island and the journey from there to Seoul is long " Saeron answered jokingly.
Both teams chuckled with a little smile on their lips suppressing themselves from laughing .
Then Junseok in stepped forward and knelt beside her and said.
" This is just the beginning Chaewon, if you do not accept your fate ...."
"Enough With fate, I'm tired of it, am ridiculously tired ." She interrupted whilst crying.
" Do you know how much I love Bit-na ? ..why ?..why her? ..." She added ,whilst staring at Bit-na who's literally in her arms .
"So after all this , you still won't accept your fate and revenge on them for your friend's death?..." Mira asked her.
Then Chaewon placed Bit-na's body slowing on the floor and whispered staring at her.
" I promise and swear on my soul ... Bit-na, I will get revenge for you ...for us ."
"Now that's the spirit " ..Saeron said and placed her hands on her shoulder.
"Sob all you want Chaewon ...and call us to come pick you up when you are ready ,"
Mira added patting her back.
"Now call 911 and leave Bit-na's body to the police ... I've already destroyed every CCTV camera around and you can tell the police you parted ways with her over here" Minjae said.
"Or else you will be arrested for killing her because gumihos don't leave a trace of themselves when they kill ...it looks like murder." Minjae added and helped her stand up from the floor.
Yewon called the police and they took Chaewon with them and left, leaving Bit-na's dead body in the middle of the street.
Chaewon couldn't sleep that night ...the horror of whatever that just happened kept playing in her mind ..and the more it played ..the more it triggered her anger for Jiwon and the others.
"Just wait you gumiho bastard.... the game has just began" She said with pain in her eyes.
