At 3 a.m. on a particularly cold Saturday morning, with the stars shining brightly and the full moon still high in the sky, two individuals appear out of nowhere in the garden of an apartment building, both wearing full-body cloaks, concealing heavy armor underneath.
Touki isn't wearing his usual red demon mask, but this time his face is covered by a completely flat black mask, with only the eye slits, as well as a small, much lighter helmet, which has become his favorite for some time now. Suki, for her part, wears her usual black armor and flat mask, a set that has improved over time, becoming increasingly lighter, but without losing her defenses and firepower.
Both appear next to Kabuto's bicycle, their bodies steaming from the cooling system, so they wait for a minute for the armor to cool. Then they both head to Kabuto's apartment, room 204, located on the second floor of the building.
Despite wearing metal armor, both Touki and Suki make no noise with their steps, one of the latest innovations Touki developed for this type of situation, leaving only the faint sound of the body plates rubbing together, which can be avoided by walking carefully.
Once at the apartment door, Touki proceeds to signal Suki, tapping her shoulder. She nods and begins activating a series of artifacts on her armor. The effect is immediate, causing Suki's armor to begin emitting a dense fog, which moves at the young woman's will, as she seems to control it with an interface on her arm and, apparently, her mind.
The fog quickly spreads around the apartment building, completely covering it, leaving only apartment 204 unaffected—a true feat on the part of Suki, who seems to be struggling to maintain the effect.
Without wasting any time, Touki makes a katana appear in his right hand, touches Suki's shoulder again to give a new signal, and proceeds to place a device on the door handle, causing the entire lock to melt in a matter of seconds and the door to start burning.
Touki opens the door wide and enters the apartment, quickly moving toward the bedroom, passing through a simple and humble living room. His armor begins to emit constant force field reactions, as traps begin to activate throughout the apartment hallway, mostly kunai and senbons with apparent poison.
Upon reaching the door to the room, Touki finds it already open, revealing Kabuto standing up and in a defensive stance.
"What's going on? Who are you?" the ninja asks, holding a kunai in both hands.
Touki doesn't bother to respond and simply proceeds to perform a horizontal movement with his sword, producing the now classic almost invisible attack, something that Kabuto effectively dodges by jumping towards the ceiling. The thunder of breaking glass reverberates in the small room and the brick wall is cleanly cut, something that surprises the ninja, who begins to respond, launching all kinds of projectiles towards Touki, all of which are easily stopped by the armor.
Kabuto, immediately understanding the armor's limitations when it comes to speed, leaps from one wall to another, dodging two attacks from Touki's sword and launching himself directly into Touki's face, scalpel in hand, which glows with a blue aura.
The scalpel's blade ends just inches from Touki's eye, stopped only by a focused force field, an action that causes the mask to begin to fracture. It is at that precise moment that the armor's left arm radiates a deep yellow aura, causing the arm to move at incredible speed and allowing it to capture the wrist of the hand holding the scalpel.
Kabuto tries to break free, but the sudden rigidity of the armor prevents him from doing so, practically pinning Touki's arm in place, unable to move even a millimeter. Touki's other arm, however, swings the sword directly at the trapped ninja.
Kabuto has no time to think; moving his body in impossible ways and trying to block the sword with a kunai, he ends up with three fingers severed when the kunai is cleanly sliced by the katana's shining blade.
The ninja doesn't seem to feel any pain, and perhaps understanding his predicament, he uses the hand that has just lost its fingers, and using the same aura that covered the scalpel a few seconds ago, he effectively cuts his trapped arm at the elbow, finally freeing himself and allowing him to dodge a new sword attack.
Kabuto attempts one last attack, firing a senbon from his mouth directly at Touki's face. The attack is stopped, but causes the mask to fracture even further. The ninja then launches himself straight into the room's window, passing through a shower of broken glass. But what awaits him outside is not what he expected, as a dense fog covers everything around him, making it impossible to even see his own nose.
Kabuto barely manages to land on his feet after jumping from the second floor, but he can't figure out which way to move. Wasting no time, with his still-injured hand, he manages to form a pair of seals and executes a powerful wind jutsu, revealing just a few meters of ground in front of him, before almost instantly becoming covered in fog again. At this, for the first time since the fight began, fear can be seen on the ninja's face.
Kabuto prepares to try another jutsu, but his instinct forces him to crouch, before which a sword passes through where his neck was. The ninja has no choice and begins to move through the fog, dodging attacks on pure instinct, stumbling over objects around the building and crashing into walls. The ninja is undoubtedly tenacious, but his enemy leaves no room for error, and wounds begin to accumulate on Kabuto's body, all inflicted with a burning blade, leaving horrific burns while seamlessly slicing through the ninja's skin and muscle.
Kabuto begins to scream as he fights for his life, like a cornered animal desperate to escape the fog. No jutsu works against his enemy; substitutions and clones are simply ignored, and his weapons are powerless to defend against the sword, which slices through everything like a joke.
All it took was one stumble, and the sword ended up severing one of Kabuto's legs. The ninja tries to move to dodge the next attack, but he can't prevent the sword from passing through his mouth, severing his jaw and burning everything inside his mouth, effectively leaving him without his tongue and the ability to speak.
Kabuto collapses to the ground on his back, breathing heavily. The man moves his head once more, dodging the sword aimed straight for his eye, but his ear ends up being severed and half his face burned. It was then that the ninja finally gives up, and his head ends up being cleanly severed.
Silence takes over the place, while the fog slowly begins to disappear, revealing Suki's figure next to the corpse and Touki walking towards her from the apartment building.
"Was it difficult?" Touki asks.
"Quite a bit. The man knew how to fight. The fog was responsible for his downfall, but he still fought to the end," Suki comments.
Touki remains silent for a few moments, staring at Kabuto's corpse, still wearing his glasses and staring into the sky. He then proceeds to take the body and store it in his storage system.
"We have to get rid of all possible evidence. We can't leave genetic material to Orochimaru, if he doesn't have it," the Man comments, and then addresses Suki, "Leave, I'm going to burn everything. Did the other tenants of the building flee?"
"Almost everyone has escaped. The fight was quite noisy, and now that the fog has almost dissipated, the last few have left their rooms," the woman says, before disappearing.
Touki looks toward the building and begins to activate an attack mechanism on his armor, which begins to emit a powerful aura of fire, muttering to himself, "The things I have to do to protect this village."
