Chapter 12 - Training X Potential 3

-----*(2 Days Ago)*-----

Blobby jiggled, eyes wide opened without a blink, staring intensely at Valtor, "MaMa~it's not about the fire. It's about the balance to it all."

Valtor's gaze left the Blob, then straight to candle flame beneath the massive pot. "Balance?" He asked. 'There is no way one grain of rice will soften like that.'

Blobby bounced to where he stood, "Yes! Ni is the energy that allows control over external forces—it moves, directs and stabilizes. Gi is internal—it fuels power and destruction."

Valtor continued staring, this time with a narrowed look, "Okay. So, how does that help me boil a rice grain?"

Blobby reproduced one of its 'uncomfortable-to-the-sight' tiny hand, which it points towards the candle, "Right now, the fire is just burning, but it has no direction. The heat is spreading everywhere instead of condensing to a single point."

Valtor listened carefully, waiting for the right words.

"... Gap is a terrible tutor, when it comes to teaching important stuffs," Blobby hid the hand back (something Valtor was grateful for) and continue, "Endo-training, Initial Binding, is meant to bind 5-10% of the dark energy, Gi, in you. It may sound like an insignificant percentage, but it's equivalent to closing a filled up tank with holes, and allowing the water to spill from the top, instead of wasting around."

The Blob bounced closer to the pot, "Right now," it looked at Valtor, "Your Gi is raw, untamed, and constantly leaking, that's why you almost blasted us to death a while ago...."

A bead of sweat rolled down Valtor's face. 'I didn't know!.'

The Blob continued, "During Initial Binding, Ni, acts as the binding force, restricting the energy and condensing it into a controlled flow. That candle flame represents a low energy source—small, yet capable. The good thing about Gi, is that, it can be focused on nonliving things, which would be used now.

"You can align your Gi with the candle flame, forcing it into a focused state, the fire can concentrate on the rice without scattering its energy into the surrounding water."

Valtor looked at the Blob, "In Lameman's terms, I have to focus Gi into the flame, while using Ni to balance the effect of the water, but, Gi would be the concentration against the Rice grain, while using some molecules of water to soften it?"

Blobby nodded, "Your Lameman's terms is more broader than my explanation."

Valtor walked towards the pot, staring at the grain of Rice. 'Balance. It's all about Balance. Gi is binded with Ni, but it is still present, just the leaking parts which are closed. Concentrate on the Rice, the water, and the Fire...'

He stared intensely at the Rice grain, hearing Blobby say, "It dwells in you, so it would be easy to channel..."

'Balance... Balance... Concentrate... Balance... The effect...' Valtor focused on the rice grain, while keeping another on the candle's tiny flame.

There was nothing initially, until he kept his mind on what he wants to be done.

'... Balance...'

Then a flicker.

He sensed the scattered heat—weak, unfocused.

Slowly he pulls from within, similar to a magnetic pull into one place, while keeping non-magnetic around, to avoid getting scattered.

The flame sharpened. This time, it didn't burn with waste, instead, it was focused on one spot.

The heat rised straight to the pot, and through directly to the Rice, using the water as a semipermeable effect—it allowed some molecules of water to be absorbed into the rice, without heating up.

Slowly the rice softened within the time limit, and Valtor passed out, successfully concentrating his energy without excess waste.

Meanwhile, the Blob stared at his unconscious form, "Valtor Burnwood, you better learn to control this darkness before it goes out of hand. It's better you learn how to harness the darkness, than for it to devour you all through.

"... I'm sure that's why the First Monarch was after you. To make you bind Ni, and harness Gi."

-----*(PRESENTLY)*----

It had taken him few hours to wake up from that coma about two days ago, but, Gap had said he rushed the process.

'Using Time, was an important part of the initial Binding.' Gap had said, then, gave him the full day of the Initial Binding exercise.

Now, after a whole day of exhaustion from the last, Valtor had finally gotten into the worse.

Pain Tolerance. The second stage.

And even the Old Man, Gap, knew he couldn't pass through the process, with having just 20% binded, it was enough.

"Valtor?" Gap called out to the weakened boy, whose breathing rivalled anyone who had ran from a life danger.

The Pain Tolerance was supposed to bind about 30% of the Gi.

In simple terms, The Tank holes (his soul housing Gi) has been sealed from leaking, but the top, opened.

Pain Tolerance would close up any opened part of the Tank, while the force of the water buildup, continued without stop.

The pain was so excruciating, it felt like a hot knife stabbing different parts of body, while a raw pepper is grated on the wound.

A Terrible Pain.

Valtor clutched his stomach and looked up to Master Gap, "I—"

"It's enough!"

Valtor's eyes went wide with gratitude, and he fell straight on the Snow, breathing heavily as the pain effects slowly disappeared.

"When you're all healed up, I need you to do something for me," Gap said, sitting on the house floor, opposite the open courtyard.

"What is it?" Valtor asked, not leaving the ground.

"I need you to go into town, and get me some items for dinner," Gap said taking a sip from his regular tea.

"But..."

"I know, I know, you aren't accustomed to the Town... Don't worry, you won't get lost."

Valtor stood up from the Snow. It just took him few seconds to get better. Something he didn't know was, The Monarchs are indestructible, immortal, except for the sacrificial process to release Chaos—the only thing capable of killing them.

"Ohh! You are up already," Gap said, getting up to get the items. He knew about everything regarding the Monarchs.
