Lu Wan Ruyi stood on the balcony gazing up at the sky that was beautifully adorned by the stars, her arms wrapped around her growing belly protectively. A life was growing in her and all she hoped for was a peaceful journey, and the past be left in the past and doesn't come to haunt her peaceful life!
Zhi Hao joined her, silent for a while before standing behind her, and protectively wrapped his arms around hers, "You know this won't be the last, but at least we won't experience something like this anytime soon, you have nothing to worry about!" He didn't know she could fight and handle guns this well; he didn't have to inquire; he would patiently wait for her to talk it out.
He wasn't going to poke at her past
"I know," she heavily exhaled while responding, "but now they know we are not just any prey they can easily attack... I think they have learnt their lessons!" He turned her around and kissed her forehead endearingly gazing into those calm eyes.
If it weren't for this woman's support, he would be a nobody at the moment with nothing! He knew someone always cleaned and supported him behind the scenes, and seeing her actions tonight, he was certain that it had always been her, without asking anything in return. Probably, this was how it felt to unconditionally love someone.
"And I will always fight by your side." Beneath the whispers, he pressed his forehead against hers as he gently rubbed his nose against hers.
"I know...." She knew he would unconditionally offer his life for her!
He pressed his lips against hers, kissing her passionately.
She melted into his embrace, her arms wrapping around his neck and knotting behind his head as he lifted her off the ground.
Her legs instinctively wrapped around his torso as he held her securely against him, their kiss deepening with quiet urgency.
From the corner of the hallway, Lu Zi Zhen smirked mischievously, seeing his parents moving away towards their bedroom in such a passionate way. He hadn't expected such an activity to create such adrenaline!
"Do you think I'm heavy?" she murmured breathlessly against his lips as he carried her down the corridor.
He chuckled softly, pressing a kiss to her cheek endearingly, "Even if you carry quintuplets, I can still carry you in my arms."
She laughed lightly, burying her face into his neck, her heart full with love and relief as he carried her away to their room – away from the chaos, away from the dangers, into a peaceful night where only their love mattered.
He carried her into their bedroom without breaking the kiss, setting her down gently before leaning in to steal one last slow, lingering kiss. Their foreheads rested together for a moment as their breaths mingled.
"Let's shower before bed," he whispered softly, brushing his thumb against her lower lip, swollen from his kisses.
She nodded, her eyes half-closed in drowsy contentment.
He guided her to the bathroom, turning on the warm rain shower. Steam rose to fill the marble-tiled space as he helped her out of her clothes, his hands tender and unhurried. Her cheeks flushed under his gaze, but he only smiled and cupped her face.
