Before metal ships existed, they said only wood would work since metal sinks. They said man cannot fly, yet here we are, soaring high in the skies.
For them, what made Gort's flood story a little believable was him…. A genius like none other, who has clearly invented great things. Had it been another person saying this, perhaps a drunk on the streets or even a student with no inventions, they would brush it off without haste.
