Chapter 36 - Dorm room.... or so they said

After escaping from the savage money drinking mall, he headed towards his dorm room with the help of the map on the phone.

"Let's see". He whipped out the phone from his pocket and quickly navigated his way to the map section. He started to follow the directions on the map, the rest of the school blurred past him.

After several turns a climb up a wide spiral staircase flanked with holographic displays, and a series of curses directed at the school.

His exact thought were

"Which bastard created this sick school, you could have at least put a mode of transportation".

he finally arrived at what the map labeled as "Dormitory Sector: Southern wing." The entrance was framed by towering arches, and curses spilled violently out of his mouth as he approached.

With a soft hiss, the doors parted, revealing a wide, well-lit hall lined with individual rooms. A holographic screen hovered near the entrance, projecting names and room numbers in sleek silver fonts. Zephyr scanned the list until he found his own.

"Room 117," he muttered, stepping forward. His footsteps echoed lightly on the polished wood floor as he made his way down the hallway. The air was cool and crisp, laced with the faint scent of something floral. He stopped in front of his room, which was marked by a seamless metal panel with a glowing number etched into its surface.

He raised his hand to the biometric scanner, and after a brief hum, the door slid open. His eyes widened at the sight within.

When you get think of a dorm room what comes to your mind?.

When I think of a dorm room, I imagine a cozy, compact space that serves as a student's home away from home. I think a shared or private quarters with essential furnishings like a bed, desk, chair, and closet, and maybe personal touches like photos, posters.

But in Zephyr's case.

'What the hell is wrong with this world, seriously am asking'.

It was nothing like he had imagined. The ceiling stretched high above, entirely made of translucent crystal that shimmered under the light, providing a breathtaking view of the drifting purple cloud and the purple sky, the sun shown brightly through the glass, lightning up the room in a soft golden light.

Rows upon rows of beds stretched across the massive room, neatly arranged in perfect symmetry. There were no walls, no barriers—just an ocean of fifty beds lined up next to each other with nothing but sheer proximity for separation. Boys and girls alike occupied the space, some chatting casually, others lost in their own world. But that all changed when the door opened.

Everyone sitting on the bed, standing or laying down turned in his direction and all of them including him froze. Until realization set in.

Zephyr the most inpure, vile, despicable and the worst human to ever exist. The one who carried out the plan to defile the princess was in the same dorm as them.

Zephyr face soured as he took in the sea of faces looking at him like one wrong move and they will be on his throat with swords.

He sighed then took a step forward.

The moment Zephyr stepped further into the dorm, the tension was palpable. It felt as though the air had thickened, each individual staring at him with an expression that shifted between disgust, fear, and barely-contained rage. Some lowered their heads, as if merely being in his presence dirtied their souls, while others couldn't hide the disdain in their eyes.

The whispers began almost immediately, like a low hum rising throughout the room.

"That's him. The one who tried to ruin her."

"How could they let him stay here?"

"I can't believe we're sharing space with someone like him."

"He should be rotting in a dungeon."

Zephyr's expression remained impassive, though his chest tightened with every word. His fingers clenched at his sides, his mind racing with a torrent of thoughts, each more frustrating than the last. He had already felt the weight of their glares the moment he stepped inside, but now it was almost suffocating.

His gaze swept over the sea of faces, lingering briefly on the ignorant boys and girls who avoided eye contact with him. He could feel their silent condemnation in the air, the way their gazes bored into him, sharp as daggers. They had no idea. None of them knew the truth.

He could feel the heat in his chest rise, the anger threatening to break through. But he held it in check, forcing himself to breathe steadily as he took another step forward, not bothering to address the murmurs. But after taking his second step instinct screamed as he swiped his head to the furtherest edge of the room and then he saw her.

A few feet ahead, a girl with striking violet eyes, the same colour of the sky was looking at him, her lilac coloured hair was tied in a ponytail, the hate in her eye was as clear as the day could get

"So, you're Zephyr Demios," that was what her hate filled eyes conveyed to him.

Zephyr froze for a moment, caught off guard. 'isn't she the one from the second exam, the sister of the third princess. I think her name was Lunethra, was it?'.

He stared at her for some time before he took another step forward. Lunethra narrowed her eyes. And somehow he could understand what her eyes were converying. "Don't take a step forward." He stilled for a moment. 'and why would I do that'. With defiance he took another step forward.

She stood up. He took another step forward. She shifted. The entire room had gone silent not oblivious to the situation. He took another step forward. Her Aura burst out. He took another step forward. Then she moved.

Space screamed warning him of impending doom. Zephyr saw her body turn to blur as she rushed in his direction, he dropped his uniform on the floor as he dodged the punch that had arrived right at her face.

A faint scent of rose drifted to his direction as she arrived before him. He stepped sided, barely dodging her blow, but she didn't give up, without waiting she swang her still outstretched hand in Zephyr's direction.

Zephyr fumbled to bring his hand upward covering his face.

Bang

Her hand met his hand with a muffled bang, Zephyr skidded in the opposite direction. His hand trembling from the force currently ravaging inside his body. But before he could react he heard a whisper.

Lumoria — Divine Cataclysm

And hot golden pain.
