Chapter 26 - CHAPTER TWENTY SIX

I felt a soft touch on my face, and I opened my eyes slowly. Damon's face peered down at me. His fingers brushed my skin softly and I leaned into his touch.

"Is this real?" he asked.

The look on his face reminded me of our first time in bed and I smiled in spite of myself.

He never stopped loving me.

His fingers brushed my lips lightly. "If this is a dream, I never want it to end."

I pinched his cheeks. "Did that hurt?"

He smiled, shaking his head. "No."

I pulled him closer and kissed him on the lips. "It's not a dream."

His eyes searched mine slowly before kissing me back. It was a small but passionate kiss, and I sighed wistfully when he pulled away.

"You're not going to run out on me again, are you?" his eyebrows furrowed in worry.

I chuckled, grazing his lips. "Do you want me to?"

He laid on my chest, snuggling close. "I'm never letting you out of my sight."

I caressed his head. "You're stuck with me."

His fingers intertwined with mine and he sighed in satisfaction.

"I'm sorry," I said.

He raised his head. "For what?"

"For hurting you."

He touched my cheek gently. "It's all in the past, all I want to think of is our future."

Our future. I wondered if we had one.

I smiled and changed positions, so I was on top of him. He chuckled slightly, watching me closely.

"What do you plan to do with me?"

I flicked his nipple. "Bad things."

He wrapped his arm around my waist, pulling me closer. "Show me."

I giggled and placed a kiss on his lips. My phone vibrated on the nightstand beside us. I ignored it and trailed kisses down Damon's body. But when it rang the second time, I reached for it.

Damon groaned. "Don't."

"It could be important," I smiled and stared at the screen.

Kyle. Shit.

I got off Damon quickly, clutching the phone in my hands. I couldn't exactly pick the call with him in the room.

"Damon, could you get us breakfast?" I asked.

He got up and hugged me. "Are you hungry?"

I nodded. "Starving."

"Alright, what should we order?" he reached for the phone.

"Actually, I was thinking you could go get it," I said.

I needed him out of the room. He stared at me suspiciously.

"You're not gonna disappear on me, are you?"

I chuckled. "No. Is it so wrong for me to want my boyfriend to get me food?"

He blinked. "What did you call me?"

"What, you don't like it?" I asked.

His smile lit up his face. "No, I love it."

He held me in his arms and twirled me. "I do."

He kissed me, and I stared at him.

Damon Walker, my target—now my boyfriend.

"I'm your boyfriend," he chuckled.

"Yes, you are," I smiled. "But your girl's hungry," I reminded.

He nodded. "Right, right."

He gave me a quick kiss and wore his clothes.

"What do you wanna eat?"

You.

I shook my head to disperse the thought. I had more important things that needed my attention.

"Pizza."

"Okay. I'll be back soon."

I dialed Kyle as soon as he left the room.

"He escaped," Kyle said.

"What?" I paced nervously

"What's going on, Mia? I heard you're on a mission."

"Yeah."

If he escaped, that meant George was on his way back to the hotel. I needed to stop him.

"Tell me what's going on, Mia," his voice was filled with worry.

I paused. I knew I could trust Kyle, but I was also aware of his loyalty to Tony. I didn't want to put him in that position where he had to choose. Besides, I'd already pulled Tara in my shit, I didn't want to do the same thing to him.

"It's that hard?" he sensed my hesitation.

I nodded, then remembered he couldn't see me.

"Yeah."

"Okay. But just let me know if you ever need my help. I'll do anything for you," he said.

I knew he meant it.

"Thanks, Kyle."

I cut the call and threw the phone on the bed.

Think Mia.

If George had something on me, it was only right I had to blackmail him with his weakness too.

I wore George's shirt quickly and scanned the room for where my mic landed last night after I threw it. I glanced at the curtain and saw a little bud thing laying on the floor.

"Found you," I wore it quickly.

"Tara?"

"Well, well, well," her teasing voice chimed.

The door opened and I turned.

"Boss!" George stopped when he saw me.

"You," his eyes squinted.

"Good morning, George," I smiled.
