Odette observed her surroundings and quickly discovered the marble shards that had been scattered on the ground. It would be hard to keep track of all of them without proper lighting.
It was also difficult to tell whether she had all the pieces together or not, so she asked Elder Duckling who was nestling on top of her head, "Elder, do I really need to collect all of the shards? It would be too difficult to keep track of the small ones scattered on the ground."
'I'm sorry, Odette. But we need all of them. The statue has been infused with my—I mean, the Goddess of Miracle's blessing. I prayed to her that the statue would be a sort of flag, making sure that whatever happened inside the kingdom, my husband and I would still be able to come in and out,' Elder Duckling replied. 'Without that statue, I'd be forced to leave the kingdom until the curse of the Masked Alpha is lifted.'
