Chapter 36 - Chapter 36: Celadon City

Chapter 36: Celadon City

~Azure S. POV~

[Kanto Region, Later, Route 7]

Walking down Route 7, checking my Arc Phone, I read the map description saying a short path connecting Route 8 with the Underground Path. However, the experience my Pokémon gained was valuable for my team.

Reviewing my team rotation, I smiled at the efforts they're going through. And with Celadon City just around the corner, I can just feel myself for a new sense of adventure with my team and treasure.

Currently, I'm walking to the gate entrance ahead with Pikachu perched over my shoulder, along with Dragonair, having been taught the HM Fly. I can't thank Blue enough for giving me the HM for Fly.

But otherwise, I have Growlithe chilling inside their Poke Balls, being tired from walking, and the constant fights. Pikachu stayed because he hadn't moved, as he was using me as a walking tool.

And Dragonair is enjoying the ability to fly gracefully, getting used to the movements in her new large form. She just looks very majestic, seeing her fly excitedly like a kid, which causes me to smile.

I mean, who wouldn't want to smile? I own a Dragonair, and she'll become an awesome Dragonite in the future!

While walking to the next city, I couldn't help but sigh, seeing a familiar face again as Green approached us in a ditzy girl kind of voice, "Whoa! What a funny coincidence meeting you, here again, Azure Sky! You must be such a good Pokémon trainer, seeing that Dragonair you own!!!"

Dragonair puffed her slender chest in a proud cry, "Dra!"

Chuckling as I rubbed her slender dragon shape, I replied, agreeing, "Yeah. We do our best to be number 1."

Dragonair happily bobbed her head as Green tried to do her pitch again, showing off her trash items in a confident tone, "Tsk… It's too bad, though, if you had some Pokémon items. Accessories to make your Pokémon even stronger! The Power Plus enhances attack power, and this item…"

She continued to blabber on as I raised my hand and shook my head as I sternly said, moving past her, "Sorry, but nope. It was nice meeting you, Green, but I have other things to do and Pokémon to capture. Let's go, guys."

Pikachu nodded his head, waving goodbye to Green. Dragonair did a small bow as she followed close to my side.

Seeing I didn't budge, she did this cute girl expression as she almost looked ready to cry as she said in a heartbroken tone, "Y-You don't want my items?"

I'm no simp. I'm a man on the grind and mission.

I grinned smugly and said in a proud tone, steadily moving away, "Yup! Good luck conning someone else, Green!"

She simply freezes as I'm not buying into her stuff. I hopped over to Dragonair and said cheekily, "Let's hit it, Dragonair! Fly!"

*Swooosh*

Getting used to her flying, the wings on her head grew to get better accustomed to our new dynamic of flying above. Holding onto her tightly, we see Green is becoming small from a distance, becoming an ant.

Smirking at this, Dragonair flew us to Celadon City ahead. First, stop at the Celadon City Game Corner!

[Kanto Region, Celadon City]

*Tmp*

Landing down at the entrance to Celadon City, I recalled my Dragonair as Pikachu, and I wandered around the City. Celadon City, also known as 'The City of Rainbow Dreams', is widely known in the Kanto Region.

Celadon City is in central Kanto. It is the most populous city in Kanto and the eighth-most populous in the Pokémon world, surpassing even Saffron City in the east. The city has two entrances, one from the east via Route 7 and one from the west via Route 16.

Celadon is the main place to spend money in Kanto, through the Celadon Department Store and the Celadon Game Corner. It is the home of the Celadon Condominiums, where residents of the city live, and the Celadon Hotel, where visitors can rest.

Celadon is also home to Erika, the city's Gym Leader, and Eusine, the hunter who pursues Suicune. At least from what I remember, but then again, it could be meaningless. Celadon's department store is the largest building in the city, as well as the largest shop in Kanto.

It is in the northwest corner of the city. The store has two sliding door entrances and is six stories high, including a rooftop floor.

That's a place I want to go, but I thought otherwise till I got some money first to get some items. And being in Celadon City makes this a bit easier.

Celadon Condominiums, better known as Celadon Mansion before Generation IV, is located next to the Pokémon Center. In the Generation I games and Pokémon Fire Red and Leaf Green, the player can find a Poké Ball containing an Eevee here.

Game Freak has an office in this building, where the player can receive a diploma from the lead developer if they have completed their Pokédex. In Pokémon Fire Red and Leaf Green, this is where the player obtains the Tea, which is required to enter Saffron City.

Better make sure I get some Tea if I need to head to Saffron City, but the risk, though, is meeting the Gym Leader…

Nah. For now, I need to focus on my task at hand. Robbing the Game Corner of their valuables by the power of Gambling!

Not just that, but the power of Rigged Games! Nothing beats having rigged games in your favor.

I began to go ahead and check out to find anything that could help me learn more about Celadon City, other than the game basics. Observing my surroundings, I see that people are having a good time praising Princess Erika.

Those are a lot of simps. But I suppose it's for a good reason since she's one of the Good Gym Leaders here.

Going around Celadon City, I didn't waste any time getting started looking for a restaurant here, going inside and viewing the place for the first time.

The food here looks so good… No wait. Holding my urge to try and buy food, I was quickly reminded I was a man on a mission.

Going towards one of the tables I recall from the game, I see a man, a bit drunk, causing a bit of a disturbance with a familiar key item I needed while I talked to him in a kind tone, "Hello sir, are you alright?"

To my surprise, he began to whine at me, making me flinch as he began to tell me his worries as he talked to me in a drunken tone, "Ah! Go ahead! Laugh! I'm flat–out busted! No more slots for me, I'm going straight! Here! I won't be needing this anymore!"

*Thud*

Taking the time to throw me the key item I needed, I simply backed away, taking the item with me, being extremely happy with the situation. I just got to myself while the staff began to come in to warn the drunk.

[Observe].

[Item: Coin Case

Rarity Item: -

Type: Key Item

Description: A case for holding coins obtained at the Game Corner. It can hold up to 50,000 coins.]

Grinning at this, I always kept this close to me. I got what I came after. The key item he gave me, like the original Fire Red and Leaf Green game, was the Coin Case.

It's not like I could afford one anyway, so happily thanking my gaming knowledge, I managed to get this bad boy first. I mean, I could, but it's free stuff, why not take it when it's absolutely given to me for free?

Taking this moment with the drunk distracted, I took my leave with the Coin Case tucked inside my bag, trying to remember that the Coin Case could potentially help me get a Pokémon fast, winning at the Celadon Gaming Corner. And I know a few I want, depending on whether they have the Pokémon or not.

Leaving the area of the restaurant and taking a moment to rest on a nearby bench, I took the Coin Case I got and opened it up to count how many coins were inside. I frowned when I opened the case.

Hmm… Sadly, though, it's empty. I know a way to get coins from the Celadon Gaming Corner without having to spend any money to do it.

It was when Pikachu bumped my head as he cried out curiously, "Pika? Pikachu?"

Pointing at the Coin Case, I smiled, rubbing my partner's head as I explained calmly, leaving the area in a happy tone, "No worries, partner. I'm just planning to win some games and get some rewards here. If I win a few enough games, I'll be able to get that item that Growlithe wanted: a Held Item that boosts its Fire-type attacks."

Pikachu's eyes widened as he nodded his head in a determined cry, "Pika! Pikachu!"

Grinning at my partner's enthusiasm, I couldn't wait to ruin Team Rocket's Day by playing gambling slot games. And that's by exploiting the glitch mechanic!

There are other ways of cheesing the system and gaming shit so that you've got an uber-powerful Pokémon team despite being a starting Trainer. However, they all require you to spend tens, if not hundreds, of hours grinding first.

That said, the two slot machines at the top of the fourth row in Fire Red's game corner do indeed give everyone a hundred coins or so. Makes it super easy to farm up the necessary coins to get all those OP items without having to pay.

Time for the best thing to win. Winning by cheating and never getting caught. Pay to win activate!
