Chapter 41: New Possibilities

~Azure S. POV~

[Kanto Region, Later, Celadon City]

|Name: Azure Sky

|Age: 11

|Affiliation: Pokémon Trainer

|Home: Viridian City

|Rank: Rookie

|Party: (M) Pikachu Lv.34, (F) Dragonair Lv.32, (M) Growlithe Lv.30, (F) Eevee Lv.25

|Money: ₽450,000

Looking at my Trainer Card, I smirked, seeing that selling those photos of Mew with Green was the right choice. She managed to haggle some breeders wanting my pics of Mew and help, made a split of thousands of Poke Dollars.

Didn't think taking pictures of Legendary Pokémon would sell a lot. Maybe I should make it a profession if it sells a lot to help fund my Pokémon.

And speaking of my Pokémon, I turned over to Eevee, changing forms with relative ease in an isolated part of Celadon City. She changed from Flareon, Vaporeon, Jolteon, and finally Leafeon.

Seems like Mew managed to change its transformation greatly. Eevee even barked and played happily with the others, seeing no pain shown as Mew informed me mentally when we encountered it.

It was iffy if Mew would've helped. I wasn't even sure if Mew wanted to, since I've read its bio in the past.

And if that didn't work, I hoped to bribe it with food. If that failed last resort would be to battle Mew for my Eevee to be fixed just like how he wanted.

Also, because I wanted to help Eevee, her caution about me no longer existed, as she trusted me fully to fix him. Not only that, but her transformations also brought some unwanted attention.

So, I suggested keeping her in her Eevee form as her base. She'll only change different forms if the situation calls for it, but not only that, Mew also gave Eevee a new name change, boosting its base higher than normal Eevees.

Raising my Arc Phone, I can see the name has changed. I smirked at the benefits added to Eevee, no… Partner Eevee.

|Name: Partner Eevee (Evolution Pokémon)

|Type: Normal (Fire/Water/Electric/Grass)

|Level: 25

|Held Item: None

|Gender: Female

|Ability: Adaptability

|Nature: Mild

|Moves: Covet, Tackle, Tail Whip, Sand Attack, Quick Attack, Baby-Doll Eyes, Swift, Bite, Mimic, Razor Leaf (IM),Ember (IM), Thunder Shock (IM), Water Gun (IM), Yawn (EM) (6 Moves to learn)

Smirking at this, Eevee has a lot more potential to be in use along with those Inherited Moves from its Eevee Evolution forms. Not only that giving Eevee the Eviolite would be beneficial to increase its bulk defenses.

With Eevee on my team, we plan to unlock the rest of Eevee's other forms. Unfortunately, we can't unlock Espeon, Umbreon, and Slyveon due to friendship requirements, but hopefully my attempt to help fix them lessened the time needed.

Of course, I'll have Eevee absorb the moonlight to unlock Umbreon form. The same for Espeon as they build up psychic power by bathing in the Sunlight.

As for Slyveon, though would require a strong bond first. That one required time since I helped Eevee with its issues, all that lies is merely a matter of time.

Now, the current difficult one is the other form of Eevee. Glaceon.

Glaceon needs an Ice Stone or an Ice Rock to evolve. Unfortunately, Kanto doesn't have any Ice Stones to solve this issue in the first generation games.

That one can be found quite easily. I know in the games they said there is no Ice Rock in Kanto, Johto, Galar, or Paldea, but that was in the games.

There's probably an off chance that an Ice Rock exists in the Seafoam Islands in Route 20. I'll have to check it out when I have the chance. However, I'm only basing this on the games, and who knows, maybe they'll sell some here.

Besides that, the Alola Region is somewhat close to Kanto, so it might be worth investing in checking the place out at the very least. But right now, I'm learning about Eevee's other forms to see how I can strategize them effectively.

[Vaporeon, the Bubble Jet Pokémon. It can detect moisture with its fins, which vibrate when sensing incoming rain. Vaporeon is mostly found in urban settings under the ownership of a Trainer. It is rarely seen in the wild, but it prefers clean freshwater lakes and shores.

It has developed gills to become better suited to an aquatic lifestyle, and its cell composition's similarity to water allows it to melt into the water. This ability enables Vaporeon to remain camouflaged while swimming, hiding itself from enemies and allowing it to ambush its prey: fish Pokémon.]

[Flareon the Flame Pokémon. Flareon's body temperature is caused by its internal flame sac, and rises when it is excited. If its body gets too hot, it will fluff out the fur on its collar to cool down. Flareon stores and heats inhaled air in its flame sac and then exhales it as fire with temperatures of around 3,100 °F (1,700 °C). Flareon's average body temperature is around 1,300-1,500 °F (700-800 °C), but it can reach 1,700 °F (900 °C).

It is an omnivore that roasts either Berries or prey before consumption. Flareon has a curious personality and is mostly found in populated areas, rarely seen in the wilderness. It is believed that Flareon regulates its body temperature while sleeping. Due to its fur releasing heat to help cool it down, Flareon can sleep comfortably.]

[Jolteon, the Lightning Pokémon. Jolteon creates electricity using an organ in its lungs, which causes crackling noises as it exhales. It can also generate low-level electricity in its cells, which is amplified by the negative ions it gathers and generates in its fur, allowing it to discharge 10,000-volt lightning bolts. Jolteon's prickly fur is made of electrically charged needles, which create a sparking noise as it moves.

It can launch its fur at enemies when agitated or startled; the charge is so powerful that it can remain on the shed fur for a long time. This Pokémon is most often found in cities and towns under the ownership of Trainers. However, its high-strung nature and tendency toward mood swings can make it difficult to train. The crackling sound of electricity can be heard while Jolteon exhales during its slumber.]

Smiling, reading over the info, I began to plan many things on how to use these forms in vital moments of battle. But not only that, I'm reminded of Partner Eevee's vital moves he can learn.

Bouncy Bubble. Buzzy Buzz. Sizzly Slide. Glitzy Glow. Baddy Bad. Sappy Seed. Freezy Frost. Sparkly Swirl. And Veevee Volley.

A total of 9 moves I need Eevee to learn. Not only that how would I need to train if Team Rocket is filling this place?

While wandering in my head about what to do about training, I see Blue come out looking annoyed. Eevee seeing this changed back into her normal default form as I greeted Blue in a casual tone, "Sup, Blue! You seem to be in quite a foul mood."

Blue finally noticed me, seemingly a bit surprised, before he responded in a harsh tone, "Tch. You wouldn't believe it even if I told you. I happened to find Red till my new Pokémon Porygon went off. And without me taking a careful look, I've traded all my Pokémon for Red's by mistake."

Wincing at that, I rubbed my head, sharing my sympathy with him in a casual tone, "Oh… that got to be annoying. Hopefully, you'll be able to trade your Pokémon back."

Blue merely nodded, agreeing with my words till he switched over to my team. That was when he noticed my Eevee as he asked curiously with a raised eyebrow, "You also got a Pokémon from the Prize Corner as well? At the very least, your Eevee seems well-trained and disciplined."

Hearing his assumptions, I calmly corrected him as I petted Eevee's head, making her calm down by my touch, "Nah. Found this little one in the wild. Had to go through some hoops to make her happy with me. Ain't that right, Eevee?"

Eevee bobbed her head happily, agreeing, "Buow!"

Happily, content with me giving Eevee his attention, Blue asked curiously, "If that's the case, how do you plan to evolve your Eevee into? Vaporeon? You do seem to lack a Water Type, as you have Growlithe and Pikachu filled for your Fire and Electric Type."

Chuckling at him, I shook my head as I responded happily about what I plan to do as Blue raised an eyebrow, "Nah. I have no big plans, and having a Normal Type Eevee sounds good to me. Besides, I'm trying to test a theory of Eevee evolving into different types by absorbing sunlight or moonlight."

Blue looked a bit surprised with his arms crossed as he said, surprising me with the news, with his knowledge impressing me, "You mean Espeon and Umbreon from the Johto Region, correct? I've seen them when I watched a play in Ecruteak City once upon a time with my grandpa."

Blinking somewhat surprised, Blue, knowing this, I couldn't help but ask curiously, "Oh? Didn't know you knew of the other Eevee Evolutions from Johto? Then do you know Leafeon, Glaceon, or Slyveon then?"

Now it was Blue's turn to look genuinely confused as he asked, generally curious about these Eevee evolutions, "Oh? Now those 3 I haven't heard before, but judging from their names… Leafeon is a Grass Type, and Glaceon is an Ice Type? What Type is Slyveon, then, Sky?"

Impressed how he deduced the two types by name, I spoke out the new Type he probably never heard of as I said calmly, "An undiscovered Type for Eevee. Supposedly, it's called the Fairy Type that makes the Dragon Type Moves useless against them, like with Ground immune to Electric Types. The criteria are having a Fairy-type move and high friendship, like Umbreon and Espeon, to evolve."

Blue looked at me skeptically at my words, but pondered a bit before muttering to himself with me close enough to hear, "A new typing? Hmm… I do have an Eevee in the PC, which I got from the Prize Corner, then maybe using a Leaf Stone to see if it's true would help with my old man's research for these new Eevee Evolutions."

Blue soon turned around to leave as he said, hastily discovering something intriguing, "I'm sorry, but I must get going. If your words hold truth, then I might see you again soon around Celadon City. Smell ya later, Sky!"

With that, Blue left, and I was alone with my Pokémon. Guess I'll see him soon enough, but for now, training time!

~Blue O. POV~

[Kanto Region, Later, Celadon City – Pokémon Center]

*Shiii*

Testing his words, I used a Leaf Stone on my Eevee, watching him evolve into a Leafeon with my eyes widening. I checked my Pokedex, showing no data but revealed to be a Grass-type and has good Physical Stats.

Weak to Sp. Attacks but excels in melee attacks. Recalling my Leafeon into its Poke Ball, I went to use the computers to make a call to Grandpa.

*Beep*

The sounds of the computer blared up as I made the necessary calls. The screen popped up showing grandpa as he looked at me fondly as he spoke in a happy tone, "Oh? Blue, is that you? How are you doing?"

Seeing him cook his noodles again, I smiled lightly, helplessly shaking my head. Same old grandpa.

But I returned to my objective as I showed grandpa Leafeon as his eyes widened, explaining to him in a calm tone, "I've spoken with Azure Sky, and he told me about some new Eevee Evolutions that caught my interest. I had a Leaf Stone and Eevee, deciding to test out if my theory of Leafeon existed. And well… here he is."

*Pop*

Hurling my Poke Ball into the air, it opened, materializing Leafeon. Grandpa's eyes widened seeing Leafeon across the screen as he waved at him. He flipped out, asking in a surprised tone, "A new Eevee evolution! So, this is an Eevee evolved form when introduced with a Leaf Stone, amazing Blue! But wait, you said this Azure Sky you mentioned, new other Eevee evolutions?!"

Nodding my head as I petted Leafeon's grassy hair, I explained to him in a sheepish tone, realizing my mistake, "Yes, but… I didn't get to say how he knew, but I forgot to ask Sky about his knowledge of Fairy Types. He mentioned that learning a Fairy-type move was needed to evolve into a Slyveon."

My grandpa looked baffled as he muttered in a surprised tone, rubbing his chin, "I see… the Fairy Type, huh? I must discuss with Azure Sky then. But do you think you can send your Leafeon to the lab? I need to conduct some tests."

Nodding, I recalled Leafeon into his Poke Ball and transferred it to Grandpa. Training with an unknown Pokémon, huh?

What would be the best means to perfectly train a Leafeon that's so focused on physical fighting? Sigh… I shouldn't be thinking that till I get my Pokémon back from Red, but I'll train his Pokémon in the meantime.
