Chapter 34: Key Stone!
~Third POV~
[Kanto Region, Later, Lavender Town – Pokémon House]
With Team Rocket gone from Pokémon Tower, the people of Lavender Town have begun to return, paying respects to their fallen Pokémon. And people are starting to trust one another again, viewing the chance of seeing the gravestones of their departed Pokémon.
Inside the Pokémon House, Mr. Fuji wanted to thank Azure for his help as he asked curiously, "Thanks to you, everyone has returned to normal. I heard that you're working on collecting Gym Badges for the Pokémon League. Is that right?"
Azure nodded his head with Pikachu on his shoulder in a resolute tone, "That's right. I'm aiming to become the very best like no one has ever been."
Mr. Fuji nodded his head in understanding as he muttered in a calm tone, his gaze looking at the window, "I see. Unfortunately, I fear your quest to become the very best may fail without love for Pokémon. I do believe I have something that may assist you to help you completing that quest."
Azure looked a bit surprised as they went into the main part of his house. Taking a seat, Mr. Fuji searched his cabinets as he took out two items and placed them down on the table in front of Azure.
Azure notices the Poke ball-shaped flute and box as he uses [Observe] on the flute. He then asked in a confused tone, "What's this?"

Seeing the screen show up, Mr. Fuji explains to Azure the Poke Flute in a calm tone, "It's a Poké Flute. You'll learn that if you play that flute, Pokémon that are sound asleep will wake up full of energy."
Nodding his head, he then gestured to the box as he asked curiously, "And what's in this box?"
Mr. Fuji replied to open it. Azure did so, opening the box, his eyes widened seeing the two Gems inside. One was a rainbow-colored gem beauty, and the other was a black and blue gem swirling in the center.
Azure used [Observe] as he muttered, looking at Mr. Fuji in disbelief, "Gems? Are you sure you wanna give me something so valuable?"

Mr. Fuji laughed as he explained in a mysterious tone, gazing at Azure fondly, "These stones don't have any value as gems. You'll find out soon enough, heh."
Azure simply nodded, placing them in his Sub-Space for safekeeping. He thanked everyone as he turned to leave in an excited tone and thought, 'I've managed to get my own Mega Stone and Key Stone! I can't believe it!'
Azure smiled happily as he checked his Arc Phone. After battling with Team Rocket and stealing their money, he was extremely happy about the progress his team had made, only making them stronger.

After that, Azure began to leave ahead to Route 8 to continue his journey. But along the way, he saw someone, surprised to see Blue waiting for him, as he said calmly, "Hey. I've heard you've handled Team Rocket within the Pokémon Tower and saved me, right? I've heard it from the buffoon Red."
Listening to his words, Azure sheepishly rubbed his head, nodding as he replied in a sheepish tone, "Yeah. Sorry if I couldn't have helped you, but I figured Red would come to visit the Pokémon Tower, noticing your unconsciousness be concerned for you."
Blue slyly grinned as he replied, crossing his arms and having his Charmeleon out in a sarcastic tone, "Sure… while you go in beating the Team Rocket Grunts left and right. Then they try to enter the Pokémon Center by force, only to be beaten by us."
Azure flinched as he apologized for seeing him kicking out the Team Rocket Grunts made them attack the Pokémon Center, "Shit! Really? Fuck… I'm – "
He froze as Blue raised his hand, signaling him to stop. Blue shook his head, responding in a thankful tone, "No. If anything, I should be thanking you for saving my life and giving me a reason to vent my frustration on those Grunts. But out of curiosity, did you know their commander?"
Azure nodded as he walked forward, casually revealing to Blue the identity of the person who caught him off guard in a neutral tone, "Yeah. Someone named Ninja Koga, one of Team Rocket's Admin, I'm assuming."
Blue narrowed his eyes, understanding the situation clearly as he muttered coldly, "Good. I'll be sure to teach that Ninja wannabe someday."
Returning to a calm expression on his face, Blue looked at Azure's Pokémon Belt, seeing him increase his rotation in an impressed tone, "I'm impressed you managed to increase your team rotation. But as a thank you for saving me here."
*Swooosh*
Tossing him 4 TM's, Azure caught it, seeing them in his hands. He couldn't help but ask Blue in a confused tone, "What's the TM's for?"

Azure's eyes widened as he used [Observe] with Blue, explaining in a calm tone, turning his back, and leaving in a neutral tone, "Correction 3 TM's and 1 HM. With your recently evolved Dragonair, she should be able to use Fly, as I already taught my Pidgeot the move. You can consider it my thanks for saving me and use those TMs wisely. With that, my debt to you is cleared. See ya later."
Azure blinked, somewhat surprised by Blue's generosity of thanks. Blinking at this, Azure felt grateful for Blue's thoughtful gift as he smiled happily, holding the gifts, 'Ya know what? That Blue kid is okay with me. If we meet in Celadon City, I'll help my bro out getting a Dratini.'
Smiling at this, he decided to think which Pokémon should get the TMs later and start teaching Dragonair the Fly HM. With the move Fly, it could prove useful in flying around Kanto. He placed the items in his Sub-Space as he moved forward to his next destination, shaking in excitement for what the future had in store for him.

[Kanto Region, Viridian City – Gym]
Meanwhile, inside the Viridian City Gym, at the end of an entrance with Team Rocket Elites surrounding it, lay the office at the end of a long row of halls. In the end, it revealed a mafia-style room with monitors lying around.
In the seat with a mahogany desk made from the finest mahogany wood sat an imposing figure. Giovanni, the Viridian City Gym Leader and the Leader of the Criminal Mafia Organization Team Rocket.
Giovanni is depicted as a tall, middle-aged man. He has very short, flat, dark hair and small dark eyes. He wears a long-sleeved black shirt with a large V-neck that shows off a white undershirt, black, slightly baggy trousers, and black shoes. On the left side of his shirt is the red Team Rocket logo.
Petting his pet, the Classy Cat Pokémon Persian. Persian is a large, quadrupedal, feline Pokémon. Its fur is pale tan, except for its black-rimmed ears. It has a short muzzle with a small black nose, red eyes with slit pupils, rounded ears, a pair of pointed teeth in its upper jaw, and three whiskers on either side of its face. Its thick whiskers are very sensitive to changes in air movements, enabling it to detect its prey by movement alone.
In the center of its forehead is a red jewel. Its long tail has a distinctive curl at the end. Persian communicates with body language and holds its tail upright to signal its intention to pounce. It has long legs and three-toed paws with retractable claws. Persian's lithe muscles also enable it to walk without making a sound.
Petting his Persian's head, Giovanni sees three monitors revealing his Admin presence on the screen. One showed Lt. Surge, Sabrina, and Koga as he explained in a bitter tone, "… the mission of making a new base and locating the legendary birds failed, Sir Giovanni. All 3 of the brats interfered with one storming in and running my men out."
*Click*
Pictures of Blue, Red, and Azure revealed themselves on the screen. Giovanni watched them and their battling styles as he spoke in a neutral tone, "I see… for now, leave those three be. Blue Oak is a lost cause as he's not interested in collecting the Gym Badges. But the boys, Red and Azure, will be off limits till I say so. After all, Sabrina, you could rob their badges anytime you wish when the time is right."
Sabrina merely nods her head, agreeing with an arrogant smile. With that, Giovanni grins as he says in a commanding tone, "Good. Now, waiting for the right moment, we'll be beginning the Mewtwo Project in Celadon City. And Sabrina, ensure you get the Eevee Reconstruction experiment needed for Project Thu-Fi-Zer while locating the Legendary Birds."
She bowed, agreeing as the screens turned off. Rubbing Persian's head, Giovanni smirked in the shadows as he thought, 'Nothing will stand in Team Rocket's way. Soon, we'll reach the climax of our power, and then I'll look for you, my son. Soul Silver…'
