Chapter 24 - Future plans

Delsia stood tall, her eyes scanning the horizon as she faced off against a wind elemental mana beast. The creature, a being of pure energy, seemed to embody the very essence of the wind. Its form shifted and flowed like the air itself, making it a formidable and unpredictable opponent.

As the battle commenced, the wind elemental mana beast struck Delsia with a blast of air, its attack swift and merciless. However, before Delsia could even react, the beast vanished into thin air, leaving her to wonder if she had merely imagined the assault.

But Delsia knew better. She could sense the beast's presence still, its energy lingering in the air like a whispered promise. With a swift motion, she raised her hands, and the sky above her darkened as if night itself was descending.

A burst of lightning illuminated the landscape, and Delsia seized the opportunity to unleash a barrage of electrical attacks. The lightning bolts rained down upon the earth, casting a network of glowing, electric tendrils across the ground.

The wind elemental mana beast, wherever it was, found its movements restricted by the web of lightning. The electrical discharges seemed to pin it in place, limiting its ability to shift and flow through the air.

Delsia's eyes gleamed with determination as she surveyed the landscape, her senses on high alert for any sign of the beast's next move. The air was charged with anticipation, the outcome of the battle hanging precariously in the balance.

Delsia's eyes widened as the wind elemental mana beast suddenly materialized around her, its presence marked by a whirlwind of churning air. The gusts were so intense that they threatened to consume her entire being, lifting her off the ground and suspending her within the vortex.

Trapped within the heart of the beast, Delsia's thoughts racing with desperation, she summoned every last ounce of her energy to unleash a colossal burst of lightning. The electrical discharge was so potent that it evaporated the air particles that comprised the mana beast's essence, disrupting the delicate balance of its elemental structure.

As the lightning burst dissipated, the whirlwind that had held Delsia captive began to dissipate, its gusts weakening until they finally vanished altogether. The air was still once more, the only sound the distant rumble of thunder.

As the dust settled, a small, insignificant fly was seen hovering in the air, its tiny wings beating rapidly as it zigzagged through the air. Delsia's eyes narrowed, her hand flashing out with lightning speed to crush the fly beneath her palm.

The tiny creature's demise was almost anticlimactic, a stark contrast to the epic struggle that had preceded it. Yet, as Delsia stood tall, her chest heaving with exertion, it was clear that she had emerged victorious, her determination and cunning proving more than a match for the wind elemental mana beast.

The Emperor of the Derngian Empire, Lios D Cornelius (II), approached the Sorcerer Supreme, Lord Aaric, with a retinue of five imposing knights. The emperor's expression was one of concern, his brow furrowed in thought. "Lord Aaric, I must express my growing unease regarding the Suran Empire's reluctance to align with our actions," he said, his voice measured and deliberate.

Lord Aaric's expression remained serene, his eyes gleaming with an unwavering confidence. "Your Imperial Majesty, I assure you that if the Suran Empire harbors any intentions of betrayal, they will be annihilated. Their wealth and influence will not protect them from our wrath."

The emperor's face broke into a wide, amused smile. "Ah, Lord Aaric, your conviction is as reassuring as it is formidable. I am glad to have you by my side in these tumultuous times."

Lord Aaric inclined his head, a hint of a smile playing on his lips. "It is my duty, Your Imperial Majesty. Now, if you would do me the honor, please sit beside me, and let us observe the next battle together."

The emperor nodded, taking a seat next to Lord Aaric. The five knights stood at attention, forming a semi-circle around the pair as they watched the unfolding battle. The air was thick with anticipation, the outcome of the clash hanging precariously in the balance. Lord Aaric's eyes gleamed with interest, his gaze fixed intently on the combatants. The emperor, too, watched with rapt attention, his expression a mask of calm, calculated interest.
