Chapter 28 - A strange Source

The Sorcerer Supreme stood tall, his eyes fixed intently on the darkened sky. He raised his hands, and a brilliant, pulsating light began to emanate from his fingertips. The air around him seemed to vibrate with energy as he started to chant in a low, sonorous voice.

As he spoke, a massive, translucent silver beam began to coalesce before him. The beam grew in size and intensity, until it was a towering column of light that stretched high into the sky. The Sorcerer Supreme poured all of his energy into the beam, channeling his magic into a single, focused blast.

With a final, triumphant cry, the Sorcerer Supreme unleashed the beam, sending it soaring into the sky. The silver light pierced the darkness, illuminating the clouds and casting an ethereal glow over the landscape.

The beam struck the heart of the darkness, disrupting the malevolent energy that had turned the sky black. The clouds began to churn and roil, as if they were being stirred by an invisible hand. Slowly but surely, the darkness began to recede, banished by the power of the Sorcerer Supreme's magic.

As the light faded, the Sorcerer Supreme stood panting, his eyes still fixed on the sky. He had saved the city from the brink of disaster, but he knew that the true challenge was only just beginning. He turned to John Von Dean, his assistant, and nodded gravely.

"The darkness may have been pushed back," he said, "but the source of the disturbance remains. We must find and stop Elder Groloth, before he can unleash any more of his evil magic."

With that, the Sorcerer Supreme turned and strode away, ready to face whatever dangers lay ahead. The courtyard of the building, where he had watched the 2nd selection, was now empty, but the Sorcerer Supreme knew that the true battle was only just beginning.

As the Sorcerer Supreme's magic dissipated, the sky gradually returned to its natural color, a brilliant blue that seemed to glow with renewed vibrancy. The air was once again filled with the sweet scent of blooming flowers, and the atmosphere was calm and peaceful.

John Von Dean, the Sorcerer Supreme's trusted assistant, began to search the area, his eyes scanning the rooftops and alleys for any sign of the source of the disruption. However, despite his thorough search, he was unable to find any evidence of the dark magic that had threatened the city.

The Sorcerer Supreme, sensing Dean's frustration, approached him and placed a hand on his shoulder. "Do not worry, Dean," he said. "The source of the disruption may be hidden, but we will find it. I want you to investigate further, to learn more about what happened here today."

Dean nodded, his eyes narrowing as he began to think about the task ahead. "I'll start by interviewing witnesses and gathering any available evidence," he said. "I'll also review the ancient tomes in the library, to see if I can find any mention of similar occurrences."

The Sorcerer Supreme smiled, his eyes gleaming with approval. "Excellent," he said. "I have every confidence that you will uncover the truth behind this disturbance. I must return to my seat beside the Emperor, but I expect you to report back to me as soon as you have any news."

With that, the Sorcerer Supreme turned and strode away, leaving Dean to begin his investigation. Dean watched him go, his mind already racing with possibilities and theories. He knew that he had a long and challenging task ahead of him, but he was determined to uncover the truth and bring those responsible to justice.

Logan stood tall, his eyes fixed intently on the massive spider mana beast that loomed before him. The creature's body was as large as a house, its eight legs twitching with malevolent intent. Logan could feel the air thickening with the spider's dark magic, but he was not intimidated.

With a swift motion, Logan raised his hand, and a wave of shimmering mercury magic erupted from his fingertips. The liquid metal seemed to come alive, flowing and twisting like a living thing as it wrapped itself around the spider's legs.

The spider let out a deafening screech as it tried to struggle free, but Logan's mercury magic held fast. The spider's legs flailed wildly, but Logan dodged and weaved with ease, his movements fluid and precise.

As he dealt with the main spider, Logan's attention was also drawn to the five immature spiders that scurried around the edges of the battlefield. The smaller spiders were fast and agile, but Logan was relentless.

With swift, precise strikes, Logan killed the immature spiders one by one, their tiny bodies crumbling to dust as his mercury magic washed over them. The main spider, sensing its offspring's demise, let out a furious roar and redoubled its efforts to break free.

But Logan was unfazed. With a final, mighty surge of magic, he crushed the main spider's body, its legs snapping like twigs as the mercury magic constricted around it. The spider's body dissipated into nothingness, banished by Logan's superior power.

As the dust settled, Logan stood victorious, his chest heaving with exertion. He had faced down a formidable foe and emerged triumphant, his mercury magic proving itself to be a potent and deadly force.

Lord Inferno D. Lugard, a towering figure with a commanding presence, rode at the head of his contingent as they arrived at the Dugon kingdom. His five division captains, each a seasoned warrior, flanked him on either side, their faces set with determination.

As they entered the kingdom, Lord Lugard's gaze swept across the landscape, his eyes burning with a fierce inner fire. He was a man on a mission, driven by a singular purpose.

With a curt nod, Lord Lugard signaled to his captains, and they swiftly charged towards the Sorcerer Supreme's building, their horses' hooves pounding against the ground. The sound of galloping horses echoed through the streets, drawing the attention of the kingdom's inhabitants.

Lord Lugard's division captains, each leading a contingent of heavily armed warriors, formed a tight phalanx around their lord as they approached the Sorcerer Supreme's building. Their armor glinted in the sunlight, casting a formidable shadow on the ground.

As they drew closer to the building, Lord Lugard's eyes narrowed, his gaze fixed intently on the structure. He could sense the power emanating from within, and his determination grew.

With a final burst of speed, Lord Lugard and his captains reached the building, their horses rearing up in front of the entrance. Lord Lugard leapt from his mount, his armor creaking as he landed on the ground.

"Wait here," he commanded his captains, his voice low and even. "I will speak with the Sorcerer Supreme."

With that, Lord Lugard strode towards the entrance, his presence commanding attention. The doors swung open, and he disappeared into the depths of the building, leaving his captains to guard the entrance.
