The Next Day
Na-ri had barely slept. Her head had been a mess since morning. Thoughts kept swirling like a storm that wouldn't stop. She couldn't focus on anything, no matter how hard she tried.
Even during work hours, her mind was far away. Lost. Distracted.
"President Kang?" Minji's voice pulled her back more than once.
"Huh?" Na-ri blinked, startled.
Minji gave her a puzzled look. "You've been spacing out all day."
Even during a meeting, Na-ri didn't hear half the things being said. She nodded when people spoke to her, but she wasn't really there. Her body was in the room, but her mind was somewhere else entirely—caught between doubt and anxiety.
At the end of the day, Minji drove her back home. The car was quiet, except for the soft hum of the engine, until Minji finally broke the silence.
"Are you okay?" she asked, glancing at her. "You've been out of it. All day. Is everything alright?"
Na-ri hesitated. "Yes… No. I don't know."
