Chapter 141 Duel
"State your reason, W'Kabi."
T'Challa sat expressionlessly on the Throne, making it impossible to fathom his Mood.
"My King." W'Kabi first bowed respectfully, and then began to Explanation. "Outsiders are fundamentally untrustworthy. Since the establishment of Wakanda, these Outsiders have always wanted to seize Resources from us, and countless Tribesmen have died because of this."
As W'Kabi's speech progressed, his emotions became agitated. His body language increased, seemingly wanting to stir up the emotions of other Leaders. However, unlike him, a newly appointed Leader, the other tribal Leaders were all veterans, and it was impossible to sway them with just a few words.
However, these Leaders did not stop him, clearly indicating that they were not entirely in agreement with T'Challa's approach.
"Especially our Border Tribe." W'Kabi patted the tribal Totem on his Clothes. "We have always endured the harassment of Outsiders, but we have no complaints, after all, it is our Duty. But precisely because of this, we are even clearer about what kind of Disaster it would be to hand Vibranium over to them. Think of Ulysses Klaue, everyone."
"But this Vibranium is the batch that Ulysses Klaue stole, and it was these people who brought it back." Shuri muttered softly, but because the Council Hall was very quiet, most people heard her words.
"Shuri!" Queen Ramonda reprimanded softly, but her Eyes held a hint of appreciation. Some words should be spoken from the mouth of a Child.
"My sister is right." Prince T'Challa followed up. "They brought back the stolen Vibranium, and should rightfully be our Friend. Bestowing some Gift upon a Friend, I think is a reasonable action, Father King."
"Hmm." T'Challa lowered his head in thought, as if considering the rationality of Prince T'Challa's words.
"Please reconsider, my King." W'Kabi pleaded with his head lowered.
"I understand your Mood, W'Kabi." T'Challa slowly opened his mouth. "Border Tribe, as the guardians of Wakanda, whenever Wakanda is attacked, it is you who protect us from Disaster. Therefore, your Hatred for Outsiders is something I can understand."
W'Kabi raised his head, his Eyes filled with Anger. That was caused by what he had seen and heard since he was a Child. Since he could remember, he had only seen the Greed of Outsiders, as well as the flames of war brought by Greed, and the Death of people around him.
"However, we cannot generalize." T'Challa stood up, walked to W'Kabi's side, and placed his Hand on his Shoulder. "Just like these people before us, haven't they brought us Goodwill? We should not impose the mistakes of others on them. Bullying the kind is not the Wakandan way."
W'Kabi remained in Silence, still unconvinced in his Heart but not knowing how to refute.
"It seems the Hatred in your Heart is very heavy." T'Challa's Eyes were solemn, and at the same time, he was secretly rejoicing that he could see the problem of his subordinate Leader through an ordinary meeting. Then, this Vibranium was spent very worthwhile.
"Since that's the case." T'Challa walked back to the Throne. "W'Kabi, I will give you a chance to state your Idea."
W'Kabi's Idea was of course to take back all the Vibranium, and then drive these Outsiders out. But he saw his Wife, the Captain of the Royal Guard—Okoye, desperately winking at him. Helplessly, he could only state the second solution.
"Duel." W'Kabi said slowly. "Please let one of them Duel with me. As long as they can win, I will no longer object."
T'Challa did not immediately agree, but turned his gaze to Yang Le and his group. "I wonder what everyone thinks."
"We need to discuss it." Fury said.
"Of course." T'Challa nodded. "Do you need me to prepare a Quiet Room for you?"
"No need, we can just discuss it in the Corner." After Fury finished speaking, he led everyone to the Corner of the Council Hall and began to discuss.
"I think we can agree." Tony said nonchalantly. "The question is, who do we send to fight?"
"If Thor was here, he would probably agree readily." Bruce Banner said with a wry smile.
"That's the problem." Fury pointed at the two of them. "Without your Armor, you're just a good-for-nothing. You can't Transformation casually, and I'm already over fifty years old. I don't know if I can withstand this Duel."
"I'll go." Vision volunteered.
"I think it's better if I go." Swampfire raised his Hand.
"After all, I was originally a Warrior. I couldn't be more familiar with this kind of Duel."
"Neither of you are Human, will the other party agree?" Bruce Banner said worriedly.
"Neither of you are Warrior either." Swampfire spread out his Hand. "This is his own proposed suggestion. He can't possibly bully you few Scientist. So as long as I volunteer, even if he grits his Teeth, he has to agree."
"That's the only way." Fury thought for a moment, and felt that Swampfire's words were indeed reasonable. Seeing that no one else had any objections, he led everyone back to the Throne.
"We have finished discussing." Fury said to T'Challa. "We agree to the Duel."
"Praise your bravery. I apologize to you, you originally did not need to participate in this Duel." T'Challa said apologetically.
"Then who is the Champion you are sending?"
"It's me." Swampfire stepped forward, his strange appearance attracting attention.
"Plumbers agent, Swampfire, and also the foremost Fighter on Manser Planet."
Yang Le was afraid that W'Kabi would not agree, so when introducing himself, he added the setting of Fighter to himself. For Wakanda, with its primitive system, if W'Kabi did not accept, he would be labeled with the Nickname of a coward for life. This was definitely not something a martial tribe's Leader could accept.
"Welcome, Fighter from another star." T'Challa opened his Hand, expressing his welcome to Swampfire. "W'Kabi, I wonder if you accept his Challenge."
"I accept!" W'Kabi said firmly. As a Warrior, he would definitely not back down because his opponent looked strange.
"Then the Duel will be held tomorrow." T'Challa announced. Then he Inquire Swampfire, "Do you need any Weapon prepared for you?"
"No need, King Your Majesty, our race does not have the habit of using Weapons." Swampfire refused T'Challa's Goodwill.
"I should remind Mr. W'Kabi, please be fully armed. After all, blade and gun have no Eyes. Unlike us, you Humans are easily injured."
"Hmph, it's not certain who will be injured." W'Kabi snorted coldly, obviously thinking that Swampfire was humiliating him.
"No, I'm serious." Swampfire emphasized again. Then, afraid that W'Kabi would not believe him, he used his Right Hand to grasp his Left arm, and with force, he detached his entire Left arm.
Facing such a bizarre scene, none of the women present Screamed. Except for Shuri secretly holding Queen Ramonda's Hand, they all just frowned slightly. After all, they were all battle-hardened Warriors, not delicate ladies.
And after detaching his shoulder, Swampfire reattached his arm back as if nothing happened.
"See, now you understand my meaning, right?" Swampfire showed everyone his Left arm, which was no different from before.
