It was almost afternoon when Arthur saw something that resembled a camp. It looked more like a random spot campers might take for temporary rest, in the bush. Fairly awful place to hide from things that don't depend on sight.
Arthur didn't know what to make of this. Just as he was looking around, a random guy walked towards him and started the conversation and Arthur humored him with one. He already knew the know-hows of this place and just as he thought, they didn't any source for food and water.
He was half tempted to just leave this place but decided otherwise. Who knows if anyone got any useful talent? All he have to do is show his strength and they will stick with him. It's better to stick with someone stronger to better chances to make it out alive, right?
Or that was the plan. As it turned out, he was tilting more and more towards leaving this place. But first things first, sleep. With that in mind he started looking for Trisha.
Thank goodness he had a system or it would be impossible for someone like him to have enough mental strength to find one...or it would not be the case, since the source of his headache is system himself.
[Hey, that is rude! Even though it is true, do not think aloud. What about my feelings?]
When he found her he decided to negotiate for her protection while he slept. Luckily she accepted.
When Arthur woke up it was already night, fortunately, this elf kept part of her deal...or not...her friend did though, not that it matters now. Turns out she was also an elf and her name is Eve.
'Total 5 people different then humans huh...'
None the less, it has nothing to do with him. He just have to finish his end of the deal and then he can leave.
[Why are you so insistent on leaving? More the merrier, is it not?] Nux was confused, isn't it better to stick in a group than to be alone? Was his host more into lone wolf thingy?
'Judging by the trend on the apocalypse novels, when the protection ends, there should be a siege against corrupted, isn't it? Then I should be as far away from groups as I can. With my shelter, it should be fine right?'
[....]
Judging by Nux' silence, it looked like Arthur hit the mark. It was too obvio-
[Nah, that would not happen. It would only happen when someone or something would kite them. Besides, even in that case, the stone room would more be enough...for now.]
....That last part sound ominous.
[Besides, something tells me that is not the complete reason.] Nux said, his tone suspicious.
Arthur ignored and bid farewell to the two ladies, he wanted to ask them to leave with him but decided against it. Any sane person would not believe him anyway.
The more he acted that way, the more Nux's curiosity grew.
Arthur on the other hand looked back after every interval, being too vigilant as if someone might follow him.
After a safe distance, he relaxed a bit, still not dropping his guard, still moving, still cautious. Luckily or unluckily, he didn't know where he was going, nor can he tell the direction in this moonless night.
[Ding! Event activated!
Sub-Quest: Night in the Cemetery
Survival Probability: High chances of death
Details: Do you dare to spend a night in the haunted cemetery where the corrupted are just one part of the puzzle?
Condition: Survive for 30 minutes.
Rewards: Experience points, 600 Cross, ???]
Arthur did not know where to show surprise right now. At the quest or the blackish red crystal in front of him. One thing that caught his eyes were...or three things to be precise were pretty obvious. Only one thing can answer his questions, he did another obvious thing,
'Please for the love of your, please answer directly, please.' Arthur begged Nux, hus hands clasped together in Indian style.
[....Dramatic much? If someone saw you, they might think that someone is harassing you.] Nux sighed exasperatedly.
[Fine. To your first question, Cross is the currency in this Continent. Yes, their IS currency here and can be used to exchanged for goods. I think it was pretty clear when you saw the bastard sword from the inventory gods you are so dumb sometimes. To your third question, the '???', yes! it is exactly NOT what you think it is. You will not get OP skills, talents, and things that can be called a cheat. You can get things that can give you the edge though. But you have to find them on your own inside the quest, so loot as much as you can carry and run. I suggest get things that you need rather than the ones you want. As for your second question.] Nux paused, his tone pensive.
