As the school day drew to a close, several students, including myself, headed home. However, as I was packing my notebook and preparing to approach Ayu, I noticed the twins and Arata engaged in conversation with her. Despite this, I continued with them.
"We're ready, Ayu, when you are. Oh, Daisuke, what's up?" Kenji exclaimed, visibly excited to see me.
"Alright, guys, remember where to put the posters, Okie?" Ayu reminded them of the plan to display the posters throughout the school.
"Yes, we do," Ryota replied, as the twins prepared to commence their task. However, Arata and Ayu decided to collaborate and work as a team to distribute the posters throughout the school.
"Hey, Ayu, is it okay if I talk to you?" I inquired of Ayu.
"Arata, could you please give me a minute?" Ayu requested that Arata wait, which he did. Nevertheless, Ayu turned to me, crossing her arms and looking seriously at me, which was not an auspicious sign given her demeanor.
"Ayu, I apologize for my earlier attitude. I understand that you were concerned about me, and it is unfair that I did not disclose my issues to you," I expressed my remorse.
However, Ayu interrupted me.
"Look, Daisuke, I don't believe it is appropriate to discuss this matter at this time. I have a pressing task to complete, namely, placing the poster for the president's council," she maintained her serious demeanor while still crossing her arms.
"Right now, I am still upset, and my distress has intensified as you have revealed that you possess certain qualities. I find it disheartening when individuals engage in deception, and I am particularly upset that you have lied to me," I expressed my frustration.
"Ayu, I merely intended to alleviate your concerns," she responded.
"However, you have inadvertently exacerbated my worries. Furthermore, you disregarded my request to seek help, despite my inability to sleep for the past two days and my reluctance to discuss my situation," I emphasized my distress.
"I understand, Ayu," Daisuke replied.
"Daisuke, I'm still upset with you. Can we talk about this tomorrow, please? Just for today, please. We both know we had a bad day today," Ayu explained.
I looked down and nodded my head as if to agree. She kissed me on the cheek and looked around, but then she stopped as she almost left the class. She looked like she wanted to give me the chance to explain, but in the end, she just left the class and kept moving. That was it.
I was honestly very sad. All of this situation was my fault. If I had just talked to her and told her the truth, things would have been different. But she did mention that we could talk about it, so there's a chance of how she feels about it.
I honestly just wanted to be at the library to read a little of my novel and read it at home if I didn't finish reading it. As I was leaving the class, I just waited to see Ayu walk with Arata. They were walking together to put up the posters. I wished that was me, but that wasn't happening today, so I walked separately straight to the library.
As I got to the library, I opened the door to enter and saw Hana putting back the books as she saw me entering and opening the door.
"Oh hey, Daisuke," Hana said with a smile, putting on her glasses as she cleaned them.
"Hey Hana, has it been busy today?"
"Hahahaa, very funny. There aren't too many students coming here at the library besides studying here mostly, like when the finals come," Hana explained to me.
"Yeah, I know. I just… wanted to laugh that's all," I looked down as Hana noticed my sad expression.
"What's wrong? Is everything alright with you?" Hana asked.
"It's just that today wasn't my day. I just discussed this with Ayu. I can say…" My expression deepens with even greater sadness.
"Im sorry about that"
"It is acceptable. I simply wish to read a book for a brief period. However, I appreciate the fact that she informed me that we will discuss it tomorrow."
As I was looking for the book that I want read it was still the same one that I always read which there are more volumes that I have to read. Hana was looking at me but at the same time she wanted to help me out with a solution, so in the end she decided to help me out.
"Why don't you just keep an eye on her and then were you guys are done buy her an ice cream or something and sit down on the swing at the park that would be a moment to chill" say Hana as she found me the volume book that I was looking for.
"Hey that's actually not a bad idea I'll do that, thanks Hana" but I didn't got the book and left the library, but before I left the library.
" I'll pick up the light novel tomorrow Hana thank you" and so I left the library, and Hana was there alone.
"Always alone huh Hana" said Hana as she was talking to herself sighing to the side in the end.
