Alaric is relieved to hear that Lenore wants to travel between Barrowmere and the capital with him as necessary. He's been making changes to the townhouse with her in mind, but he didn't expect her to bring up the topic first.
Perhaps he should've seen it coming. After all, she spends hours sitting by the window and looking outside. She doesn't have much else to do while recovering, and every servant is under strict orders to make sure she doesn't try to strain herself. In that kind of situation, of course she'll notice changes being made, especially when it comes to the gazebo that's visible from the bedroom windows.
