"Misty! If we want to negotiate with Tentacruel, we have to make it taste some pain first!"
"You're the expert on Water-type Pokémon!"
"Does Tentacruel have any weaknesses?"
"Weaknesses!" Misty immediately spotted the special red orb at the center of Tentacruel's head. "Its weakness is the red orb right in the middle of its head!"
"But Tentacruel is incredibly good at using Supersonic!"
"The energy for Supersonic comes straight from that red orb!"
"If a Pokémon isn't fast enough, it'll never get close!"
"And... and this mutated Tentacruel probably needs a move that absolutely counters it to destroy that red orb!"
"Hahaha, what a coincidence! We have exactly what we need! Hang on tight, Misty!" As Kazuki instructed Misty, he recalled Pikachu back into his Poké Ball.
"Pidgeot! Show that Tentacruel just how fast you are!"
Pidgeot let out a sharp cry, its wingtips beginning to gleam silver.
Thanks to the Swift Wing it was equipped with, and under the boost of its tremendous potential, Pidgeot's top speed far surpassed the ordinary standard.
"Kazuki, careful! Tentacruel's about to use Bubble Beam!" Misty kept a close eye on the battle, giving Kazuki timely warnings.
"Pidgeot, use Quick Attack again!"
Pidgeot flapped its wings and blinked forward, evading the Bubble Beam and closing the distance to Tentacruel.
"The red orb! Kazuki, it's about to unleash Supersonic!"
"Got it! Misty, hold on tight!"
Feeling Misty's grip tighten around his waist, Kazuki immediately commanded, "Pidgeot, Agility! Shake off the interference from Supersonic!"
The roar of the wind grew louder. Even the strong Misty was struggling to hold on.
Pidgeot twisted in midair to dodge a skill, and Misty, caught off guard, lost her grip and fell.
"Ah!"
In that instant, as Misty fell, she saw Kazuki leap after her without hesitation.
Kazuki dove like a falcon, catching Misty mid-air and spinning to soften the landing. He quickly pulled out Pikachu's Poké Ball. "Pikachu, it's your time to shine!"
With pinpoint precision, Kazuki threw Pikachu onto the red orb at the center of Tentacruel's head.
At the same moment, Pidgeot swooped in smoothly, catching Kazuki and Misty.
Tentacruel, towering at over level 50 and gigantically mutated, had overwhelming strength compared to Pikachu.
As soon as Pikachu landed on Tentacruel, it winced under the assault of Supersonic.
But—!
The hidden ability, Fifty-Fifty, activated — Pikachu forcibly endured it!
At this moment, even Arceus couldn't change the outcome!
"Pikachu! Thunderbolt!!"
Piiiii-kaaaa-chuuuuu!!!
Lightning crackled wildly around Pikachu, electricity amplified by the Light Ball, supercharged against Water-type Pokémon!
Cracks spiderwebbed across Tentacruel's red orb, and its massive body began to topple toward the ocean waves.
Pikachu unleashed every ounce of its strength in that attack.
Pidgeot flew a graceful arc, catching the exhausted Pikachu perfectly.
Kazuki cradled the weary Pikachu in his arms, soothing it. "Good job, Pikachu. You can rest in your Poké Ball now."
"Pika, pika~"
But Pikachu shook its head, determined to stay by Kazuki's side.
"Alright, then stay and watch me work!" Kazuki placed Pikachu on his shoulder and directed Pidgeot to approach the fallen Tentacruel.
After that heavy blast of electricity, Tentacruel had calmed down significantly.
Under Misty's Water-type Affinity and Kazuki's Friend of the Ocean, Tentacruel finally showed signs of being willing to negotiate.
Gurgle~
Tentacruel grumbled, criticizing Pidgeot and Pikachu for having such powerful abilities yet siding with humans.
"Because we're friends! We're companions who live and grow together!" Misty seized the moment, her voice earnest.
"If you're willing, you could be our friend too!"
Gurgle! Gurgle!
Tentacruel roared its anger — humans had destroyed its home, and this was merely its retaliation in kind.
"You're right. You had every right to fight back, and humans have been warned! I believe they'll respect the ocean from now on!" Misty's voice was full of hope.
"But if the destruction continues, your home won't recover. It'll only put your entire community at risk!"
"If you're willing to return to the sea and promise not to attack human ships and buildings anymore..."
"I can help you deal with that hotel on the coral reef — so you'll never be disturbed again!"
Kazuki laid out the pros and cons clearly, offering Tentacruel a solution.
Tentacruel glanced at the terrified crowds onshore, then back at Kazuki and Misty.
After a long silence, Tentacruel gurgled its acceptance — it didn't feel as hostile toward Kazuki and Misty. It was willing to trust humans one more time.
With a single wave of Tentacruel's Supersonic signal, countless Tentacool and Tentacruel began retreating into the sea.
The citizens and tourists of Porta Vista erupted into cheers the moment they saw the giant Tentacruel retreat.
"Sky Hero!"
"Sky Hero!"
Tens of thousands roared, bestowing Kazuki with an honorary title.
Kazuki directed Pidgeot to land before the mayor.
The towering three-meter-high Pidgeot startled the mayor, but being a seasoned politician, he quickly composed himself and greeted Kazuki with a bright smile.
"Wow! Mr. Kazuki, I never thought the Sky Hero would be you!"
"Your Pokémon are incredible! First that beautiful Horsea!"
"And now this mighty Pidgeot!"
"And let's not forget the amazing Bulbasaur!"
The mayor gave the highest praise to the Pokémon who had rescued him — Bulbasaur.
"Bul... Bulbasaur?" Kazuki glanced at Bulbasaur, baffled. So now Bulbasaur was the mayor's senior?
Bulbasaur shook his head helplessly. "Bulba~"
Kazuki chuckled and decided to strike while the iron was hot, bringing up the issue of the Hotel.
"Mayor, don't celebrate just yet! That giant Tentacruel might come back — and next time, it might bring an entire swarm!"
The mayor's face blanched. "C-come back? Then… wouldn't all my hard work to boost the economy this year go down the drain?"
Seeing the pressure settle in, Kazuki finally revealed his real goal.
"Actually, it can be avoided! All we need is one small change!"
The mayor's pupils dilated. A veteran of politics, he instantly caught on. "Please, Sky Hero, teach me! If you can help me solve this perfectly, you'll forever be Porta Vista's benefactor! We'll offer you the grandest free service whenever you visit!"
"It's simple!" Kazuki pointed toward the ocean at the half-ruined Hotel. "Just tear that thing down — and all the problems will be solved!"
"Ah? That... that's..." The mayor's expression twisted in conflict. "That's a massive investment made by Nastina and several companies!"
"There's special transparent glass underwater so tourists can dine while enjoying the beautiful coral reef — and not be disturbed by the wild Pokémon!"
"Oh! Special transparent glass, huh?" Kazuki pulled out the analysis report Nurse Joy had sent through an intermediary.
"Turns out, that 'special' material causes Water-type Pokémon to suffer nausea and dizziness!"
"Nurse Joy is already preparing to report this to the Kanto Council!"
"What?! That's why the Water Pokémon wouldn't approach?" The mayor feigned shock — maybe genuinely, maybe for show — but at least he looked willing to change.
Kazuki continued, "Besides, the Tentacool have adapted — now that material just drives them into a berserk rage!"
"And as for your beloved Nastina..." Kazuki played a video showing Nastina colluding with Team Rocket.
"Who would've thought! A famous entrepreneur working with the notorious Team Rocket!"
"I wonder how the Pokémon League will react to this?"
"And maybe... maybe you, Mr. Mayor, had a little plan to secretly support this project and sneak it into your political achievements?"
Kazuki's sharp words hit the mark. The mayor flinched like a cat with its tail stepped on, shaking his head frantically, before puffing up his chest and shouting loudly:
"How... how could that be! I have no dealings with Team Rocket!"
"Guards! Summon Nastina immediately! Begin the investigation! Hotel must cease operations at once!"
"I will not coexist with evil!"
Under overwhelming evidence, the mayor chose to abandon the project and save his political career.
After ordering the Hotel project to halt, he heaved a long sigh. "Sigh... another year's work, all gone..."
Kazuki saw that the mayor wasn't entirely bad — just eager to boost the city's economy — so he clapped him on the shoulder.
"Mayor, actually... a Pokémon-based economy could be even more profitable than that coral reef attraction!"
The mayor tilted his head, curiosity sparking in his eyes. "What do you mean?"
"Isn't it obvious?" Kazuki grinned, borrowing the marketing plan used on the S.S. Anne with the Shiny Horsea.
"After tearing down the Hotel..."
"Build a huge protected reserve! Announce it as the habitat of a Giant Tentacruel!"
"Make sure the reserve is big enough to avoid disturbing the coral reef ecosystem!"
"Then promote the existence of a giant Pokémon here!"
"If you protect it well and don't disturb them, that Tentacruel will probably show up a few times a year."
"Once the word spreads, the tourism revenue will pour in!"
"This... this could really work?" The mayor still looked skeptical.
Kazuki glanced around, then brought him to a device. He uploaded a video of the Giant Tentacruel — no location or context marked.
As soon as the upload completed, the views skyrocketed.
With no location tagged, the comments flooded in.
Everyone was asking where they could see this amazing Pokémon!
"How about now, Mayor?"
The mayor's jaw dropped as the view count surpassed the promotional campaign for Hotel in just a few minutes. He burst into applause, ecstatic.
"Wonderful! It's a miracle! We've found a way!"
"I'll get started on clearing hotel immediately!"
"I'll arrange your gratitude ceremony shortly!"
Kazuki waved him off with a laugh. "Go on, go on — you've got a lot to do."
