Rein's POV
"Aren't you going to say anything?" I asked, a little annoyed by her silence.
"I'm just curious," Syria said, tilting her head. "If you truly had nothing to hide, then why do you seem so affected?"
"Just answer me," I snapped, trying to hold back my irritation.
"You must have done something shameful to feel this guilty. No, I did not watch your entire time with the Alphas. I spent mine trying to figure out how to help you escape this mansion," she replied coolly.
I let out a quiet sigh and nodded. Honestly, it would have been beyond embarrassing if she had seen everything that happened between me and those Alphas.
"So… where is the book hidden?" I asked, eager to change the topic.
"Follow me." Her ghostly form floated gently above the ground.
"Aren't you worried someone might see you?"
"No one can see me but you," she replied. "I'm a ghost, remember? It's only because of my bloodline that I remain conscious in the spirit realm. Otherwise, I would be truly dead."
