Chapter 130: This Book Has a Pure Bloodline
At the vast edge of the boundless universe, there lies a beautiful blue planet. On this blue planet lives a species called "humans." Driven by endless desires, humans constantly wage wars against one another to seize better resources.
This conflict has lasted for a thousand years.
Over these millennia, countless nations composed of humans have emerged.
The Land of the Ancestors, the Land of Others, and so on.
They loathed and schemed against each other. Weak nations were annexed by the strong, and the strong nations eventually fragmented into weaker ones, creating a never-ending cycle.
People lived their lives in an endless loop of killing and being killed.
Until, one day, a divine maiden descended from the heavens and brought an end to the millennia-long war.
She put an end to the conflict, brought peace and hope. Everyone lived in harmony and happiness. She was revered as the "Goddess of Mao," and under the blessings and prayers of the people, she gave birth to two children. Her eldest son became the renowned founder of the Ninja World—the Sage of Six Paths—who shared the power of chakra with all beings and established the teachings of ninshu.
The above content comes from the recorded legends of the Ninja World a thousand years later.
A beautiful myth, isn't it? A goddess ends the war, brings peace, and everyone lives happily ever after.
But a story is still just a story.
Yamcha closed the book. At this moment, he was standing atop one of the most iconic buildings in Konoha Village—the Hokage Rock, carved with three massive human faces. Beneath his feet was the face of Hashirama Senju, known as the God of Shinobi.
He looked down at the bustling crowd below, gazing at the ever-peaceful village of Konoha.
Humans always long for beautiful things, so they romanticize myths and embellish stories to make them even more "beautiful."
But reality is cruel.
The truth is that the so-called "Goddess of Mao," Kaguya Ōtsutsuki, was an alien from space. Her arrival on Earth was neither by accident nor out of a desire for peace or hope. Her true purpose was to cultivate something unique to her clan—a being known as the "God Tree."
The God Tree grows by absorbing the planet's energy, devouring everything, and consuming all life on the planet. Eventually, it produces a single fruit. Consuming that fruit greatly enhances one's power.
The "Goddess of Mao" came to grow that fruit.
Perhaps she wanted to escape her clan's control, perhaps to monopolize the power, or maybe she had some other motive—but ultimately, Kaguya ate the God Tree's fruit.
She then activated an ability known as the "Infinite Tsukuyomi," hypnotizing all humans on Earth and transforming them into semi-plant, semi-living weapons through the God Tree's power—soldiers to fight against her clan.
Ironically, the so-called Goddess of Mao was eventually sealed away by her own sons, imprisoned on the moon—for a thousand years.
The gap between reality and fairy tales is enormous.
This is the world of Naruto, or perhaps more aptly called The Legend of the Eyes.
In this world, there exists a mysterious power called chakra—an energy created by the perfect fusion of all bodily components unique to this world's humans.
The reason it's called "this world's humans" is because chakra is exclusive to this world's energy system—it is different from ki, nen, or ripple energy.
A normal human has about 40–60 trillion cells, but the average person in the Naruto world has about 130 trillion cells—two to three times more. For those with Kekkei Genkai (bloodline limits), that number might be even higher.
In truth, the reason humans in this world have so many cells is inseparable from chakra. It is precisely because of chakra's existence that humans here possess such a high number of cells.
Cells represent life. More cells mean greater vitality (excluding cancer cells). This is the exact reason why Yamcha came to this world.
Quantity!
Multiplied normal cells = exponentially stronger vitality = faster cultivation foundation = greater strength.
Unfortunately, he is not from this world, and the Sage of Six Paths never "shared" chakra with him.
He couldn't obtain it from nothing.
Yamcha is fundamentally different from the humans of this world—he doesn't have even the slightest bit of chakra. Even though Yamcha is nearly invincible in this world, he still cannot produce a single trace of chakra within himself.
Unless...
He finds another way to obtain it.
It's hard, and yet simple.
From what he currently knows, there are two methods to acquire chakra.
One is to seal a tailed beast—these are creatures made purely of chakra unique to this world—into his own body. With that, Yamcha could use their power to perform ninjutsu.
But the downside is that this chakra is unstable and has almost no room for growth. The tailed beasts' power might seem formidable, but compared to the myriad universes—especially the destructive power of the Dragon Ball world—it's severely lacking.
Besides, Yamcha has no desire to seal a living creature inside himself, even if it's a being made of chakra.
The other method is much simpler and more direct:
Since he's not from this world, then he should acquire chakra from the very source.
For example: eat the chakra fruit from the God Tree before Kaguya Ōtsutsuki does, and obtain chakra at its origin.
"Well then…" Yamcha stepped forward. "I've watched others for so long. To avoid being called impolite…"
"It's time I properly visited this so-called 'Goddess of Mao'—the ancestor of chakra."
Yamcha's gaze fell to a nearby bush. He raised his hand and waved, as if greeting someone.
"I'll be back… back to this very moment in time."
He casually tossed the book in his hand. With a meaningful glance in a certain direction and a light hum, his body gradually faded, and the book seemed to erode like it had aged thousands of years, turning to dust and drifting away with the wind.
As if he had never been there.
Long after…
Several dark figures slowly emerged from the forest. The leader was an elder wearing a red and white ceremonial robe and a red conical hat. The others were dressed in black.
They stared silently at the spot where Yamcha had disappeared. Only after a while did they begin to investigate.
"No chakra fluctuation detected."
"Time-space ninjutsu? Or some kind of illusion?"
"Who… exactly is this man?"
"Lord Third." After a fruitless search, the black-clad figures turned to the old man respectfully.
"We were discovered long ago," the old man muttered, taking a few deep puffs from his pipe and exhaling slowly. "If I hadn't seen it with my own eyes, I would've thought he was just an ordinary person."
"I've never met someone like that. He gave me an extraordinary feeling."
"I could even sense my instincts warning me—not to provoke him, not to engage him, under no circumstances fight him."
"I hope… he's a friend, not a foe."
"Hiruzen, I've told you before—no matter who he is, we should just capture him and get the answers we need!" said another elderly man, wrapped head to toe in bandages, leaning on a cane. He stood beside the first elder, his tone full of frustration. "You're too soft. You should've let me handle this."
The man addressed as Hiruzen merely glanced at him and replied with the classic line:
"Danzo, I am the Hokage."
"You'll regret this, Hiruzen!"
