Chapter 10 - Fight Hard

BLAIR

"What the actual fuck?" Blake stumbled and stepped backwards. "Did you just slap me?" He asked.

"Yes the fuck I did. Are you crazy?" I asked him.

His lips were swollen and the girl he was kissing had run away. I guess she was scared. She was such a pussy. Why didn't she face me?

The music was loud and the bass was thumping through the floor, but all I could hear was the pounding of my own heart.

I didn't even have time to turn around and stare at Maude, Jessica and Jane but I know their faces were filled with shock.

Blake was still standing right in front of me, his face twisted with something between desperation and anger.

I turned around and tried to walk away and Blake stopped me. "It wasn't what you saw Blair. I was just sitting on my own and that girl…I think she knew I was drunk so she kissed me."

"Good riddance. Why did you kiss her back?" I yelled furiously.

"I was in the moment. Everything happened so fast. I'd never cheat on you," Blake said and I was tempted to punch him again.

I sighted Lola coming into the club so I wanted to go and welcome her.

Blake was begging me to listen, to talk, but I wasn't in the mood for words.

"I'm begging you, Blair," he said, my voice low and rough. "Please, just hear me out."

"You wouldn't cheat on me but you keep

fucking Sonya between classes. You have her like thrice daily. Do you think I'm stupid?"

Blair acted ignorant. "Who is Sonya?"

What the hell? Was this guy kidding me?

I didn't say a word. Instead, I saw my chance and I took it. Without hesitation, I pounced on him.

The moment my fist connected with his jaw and Blake flew opposite the club, the whole club seemed to freeze.

People stopped dancing, stopped talking, and turned to watch us. Sonya seemed to have arrived at the club because she stood at the side, leaning casually against the wall, her eyes were sharp and amused.

Her face had a punch-that-boy kinda look.

My siren system immediately came to sight.

Only I could see it.

It showed my strength level.

Name: Blair Williams

Age:18

Strength:100 percent.

[You have the power to take Blake down.]

[Today is a quarter moon and Blake is a lycan.]

Oh, yeah!!

I totally forgot. Lycans were at their weakest during a full moon.

[New quest: Beat Blake blue-black to get to level three.]

[For now, you'll do one quest per level till you reach level four and begin transmigrating. Once you begin transmigrating, quests will be a lot harder.]

I jumped on Blake and ripped his shirt off. He wore a silk shirt that had buttons in the middle.

Blake laid on the floor and I sat on his belly. I kept delivering punches to his face. He whimpered. He tried to hold my neck but I swerved and grabbed his hands and hit his elbows on the floor.

Maude stepped forward with a calm voice. She bent over and tried to retrieve me from on top of Blake. "Blair, stop. You don't have to do this."

I shook my head, refusing to back down. I gently pushed Maude away "No, Maude. He needs to learn."

I slapped Blake again, harder this time.

I then grabbed his arm and bit it with all my might. The anger I used to beat him up this night was all the anger I had held for months.

I could see the surprise in his eyes. He wasn't used to being on the receiving end.

"Blair, please," Blake gasped, trying to steady himself. "You don't have to do this."

But I was already moving, my fists flying, fueled by built up frustration.

The crowd around us grew silent, watching the fight unfold like a slow-motion movie.

Sonya's smirk never left her face as she observed us.

Finally, she stepped forward, her voice dripping with amusement. "You look really hot, Blair, beating up Blake like that."

I glared at her, not bothering to reply. If she continued to annoy me, I would beat the shit out of her.

Blake, now clearly drunk and angry, shouted, "Sonya, why aren't you defending me? Aren't you supposed to be on my side?"

Sonya shrugged, her eyes sparkling with mischief. "I'm just here to watch the show."

Blake turned back to me, his voice rising.

"You were supposed to be my future Luna, Blair. Why can't you be humble?"

I spat back, "You should go to hell."

The fight continued and Blake was gaining momentum when he grabbed my arms and folded them, trying to get himself up.

I used my legs to hit his nose and he needed profusely. I was winning when suddenly, I felt something cold wrap around my arms and legs. Before I could react, a student nearby had used ice bending to freeze both me and Blake in place.

We were in an ice box, unable to move.

I struggled, but the ice held tight. My strength level had dropped rapidly—from 100 percent to just 10.

Surprisingly, my knuckles did not hurt and every wound I had gotten from Blake trying to fight back healed just immediately.

This was the first time I had ever beaten someone like Blake, and it had taken a lot out of me.

Maude rushed forward and pleaded with the student that freezed us. "Please, unfreeze them. This isn't the way."

The student seemed to be a club protocol. She hesitated but finally melted the ice away.

I gasped as I released my breath and rubbed my arms where the cold had numbed them.

Blake sneered, but I was too angry to care. I came down from him and I heard notifications.

[Ping!! Welcome to level three.]

[Werewolf veto power is now 5 percent.]

[Transmigration channel is 75%]

[Congratulations. Quest completed. You've been rewarded with a Pink Siren handy dagger.]

[Pink Siren handy dagger added to your inventory.]

Maude came over to retrieve me and I looked at her, my frustration spilling over. "I don't know what to do anymore."

Maude's eyes softened. "Come with me. Let's get you out of here."

I nodded, feeling the sting of a nosebleed trickling down my face. Maude gently took my arm, guiding me away from the chaos.

I knew the girls had a lot of questions to ask me. Jessica, Jane, and Lola followed closely behind us.

I heard people whispering but I didn't care. I knew they'd give me a new nickname tomorrow. Sonya rushed over to Blake to help him up.

We moved away from section 18+ and found a quieter section of the club, away from the crowd and the noise.

I could hear Blake's voice echoing behind us. He had followed me and he was begging to be let in.

The person must've slipped because Blake came in and was walking to me when Jessica stood up from her seat.

Her eyes were blazing with determination. With a graceful motion, she activated her ability and formed a wall that blocked Blake's path.

"Stay back," Jessica warned, her voice filled with authority. Blake growled, frustration clear in his voice as he retreated. He was weak and afraid so he went away.

Maude sighed deeply, turning to me with disappointment in her eyes. "Blair, I'm really disappointed in how things turned out."

I looked down at the blood on my hand and then at my nose. "I'm bleeding."

Maude's expression softened instantly.

"Come with me. I'll help you clean up."

She led me to the bathroom, her touch gentle and reassuring. Once inside, she pulled me into a stall and closed the door behind us.

The noise of the club faded away, replaced by the quiet hum of the bathroom lights. Maude looked so enticing in all her glory.

She was so soft, so tender and I wanted to do so many things to her.

She took off her glasses, revealing the prettiest pair of eyes I had ever seen. Her lips were swollen, drenched in pink lip gloss and she smelled like coconut and the tropics.

I was falling…deeply.

Without thinking, I leaned in and kissed Maude.
