[POV: Solenne]
As promised, Eira returned by sundown.
Solenne had finished her stew, then fallen asleep with the empty bowl still in her hands. When she heard the sound of the door opening, she stirred awake.
"You can rest more if you need," Eira said, giving her an apologetic look. "I didn't mean to wake you."
Solenne shook her head and waved her hand, indicating it didn't bother her. She studied the strange woman as she took off her coat, hung it on the rack, and then removed her shoes by the front door.
"I know you're probably in no mood to chat, but I would love to understand you at least," the woman continued. "I got the components for a potion that allows knowledge transfer, if you'd be willing."
Solenne glanced down at her hands with a look of uncertainty spread plainly on her face. She couldn't help but wonder if it was a trap or poison of some kind. If Ruvan was somewhere out there, alone… he needed her alive.
