~Bella's POV
"Mia?" I whispered again, still holding her hand tightly. Her fingers didn't let go. It wasn't my imagination. She held on.
I gasped and quickly wiped my tears. "Hold on, baby… I'm calling the nurse!"
I stood up in a panic and rushed to the door. I opened it and shouted down the hallway, "Nurse! Nurse, please! She moved! Mia moved!"
Two nurses came running almost immediately.
"What happened?" one of them asked, stepping into the room quickly.
"She… she held my hand. She's responding! She really held on!" I cried, my voice shaking.
The nurses glanced at each other and hurried to her bedside. One of them started checking the monitors while the other leaned down, calling Mia softly.
"Let me call the doctor," one of them said and dashed out.
I stood there frozen, my heart pounding in my chest as I watched them. I couldn't stop shaking. This couldn't be a dream. This had to be real.
A few moments later, Michael came rushing in, his face full of concern.
