Catherine got up to see the most unexpected person in front of her room.
She stepped back and bowed, while the person walked in casually.
"Little Cath, it is fine, you do not need to be so wary of me, I am not here to question you or anything. I only wish to tell you, follow your heart and do so without regrets."
As soon as she finished she stepped out and left, Catherine on he other hand watched the silhouette vanish down the corridor.
Then a smile emerged on her lips, then she left her room, searching for one person.
In another end of the Palace, A boy and a girl walked side by side heading out of the library.
"Sister, can we go see big brother, he did not seem to be in a good mood last night." Benjamin asked.
"Of course, let us head there right away." Aurora said as she pulled her little brother.
Upon getting to Vespers room they saw a few number of unexpected faces, Adolfus stood straight folding his arms quietly, Morgan and Morgana rested against the wall by the door, Catherine stood there, her fists were balled, Damian held a spear behind his back and stood straight.
Shock coloured Aurora's face, then she stepped forward holding Benjamin's hand and knocked.
In a few seconds the door opened and Vespers' voice echoed out, "Come in please."
All seven of them entered to see Vesper drawing a rune and afterwards channelled his manner into it, a wave of energy spread across the room covering all of them.
"To what do I owe the pleasure of all your visits." He said without looking at any of them.
"Vesper, I know you are the most experienced one amongst all of us, but I came to request that you step down from the position of commander for our team, the three of them have already agreed to it, besides, I am the Crown prince, surely you do not wish for rumours to start spreading." Adolfus said.
Vesper stared at Adolfus and his gaze roamed around everyone else in the room, "Alright then do it your way, but tell his Majesty your plan, I hate being used as cover."
Adolfus, Morgan, Morgana, Catherine, Benjamin and Aurora were stunned, that went too smoothly, only Damian nodded and walked out of the room.
Catherine looked at Adolfus and was about speaking when Vesper interjected, "If you do not have any other command, please I will love to continue my studying, Vesper said pointing to the table.
Adolfus said nothing and left, Morgan and Morgana stared at Vesper for a while and left. Vesper turned his gaze towards the last three, then spoke to Benjamin and Aurora, "Thank you both for coming to check on me, but I will speak to you later."
And with that he looked towards Catherine, the two siblings got the message and left the room leaving only Vesper and Catherine in it, with a wave of his hand the door shut and he walked towards Catherine.
Standing very close to her, he said, "You should not be here."
Catherine stared at him for a while and said, "Then why did you not tell me to leave?"
Vesper sighed and walked back, Catherine on the other hand continued, "I have feelings for you Vesper, I am sure of it, and except you reject me to my face, aside that, I want to see you that is why I came."
Vesper looked at her and smiled a bit, this woman reminded him of someone all too well, someone in his life as Victor.
Both of them chatted and Vesper studied the military tactic with her, but as if on silent agreement they never spoke about why he let Adolfus take leadership.
After hours Catherine left leaving Vesper all by himself, then he waved his hands as his halberd appeared in his hands.
Observing it he waved it for a moment and sat crossed legged placing the halberd in front of him.
He did not only want to progress as an element user but also as a weapon master.
**
The sun creeped beyond the horizons and then Vesper got up, he dressed in a top and trousers as he walked out of the Imperial Palace and headed straight for the eternal forest.
He used his movement technique and appeared and disappeared in the forest and finally getting to the cave.
Staring at this place he let out a sigh and closed his eyes, unlike the approach he had been thinking of he decided to face the creature head on.
Releasing his mana, a roar came from the cave and loud thudding sounds echoed, coming closer and closer to him.
Vespers halberd appeared in his hands and he flashed, as soon as the steel clawed pangolin came into view he slashed at it.
Caught off guard, the halberd cut through the beasts hide, making it roar in rage.
"Well, guess that much was more than enough to enrage it." Vesper smiled.
The Pangolin waved its claws, and this time Vesper could see it, the space element forming tears slashing towards him.
After studying and practising for the past month he learnt about how different beast awakened a style for their element, some could use it for support and some could use it for offence, this Pangolin here was clearly on the offensive, and he knew very well he could not match it one on one so he decided to use a few trick.
He activated his technique and appeared behind the Pangolin, throwing an item towards it, as soon as it got close to the beast it exploded forth with lightening.
Due to the steel armour surrounding the Pangolin, it was very much vulnerable to certain elements like lightening.
The pangolin roared in pain as it swiped back, only for Vesper to appear above it in the air and that was when he did it.
Closing his eyes he held the halberd and it hummed.
He whispered, "Tempest of Blades."
His halberd seemed to multiply to tens of blades as they descended on the Pangolin, the creature in response raised it claw and blocked but cuts and stab marks appeared on its fur, only making the beast more enraged.
Vesper vanished again and appeared above a pond, floating, this was something he found he could do after gaining mastery over space, he could solidify the space below his feet making him able to 'stand' above the ground.
The Pangolin turned towards him and roared but then Vesper let out a smirk, in the first place he never planned on fighting this creature all he had to do was enrage it and stall a bit, and now his time for stalling was over.
Behind him another roar echoed and an enormous creature came out form the forest, Vesper vanished again, leaving the Pangolin and the new comer to face off, the new comer of course was not just any beast
