Vesper appeared in a room that was dimly lit, and looking before him he saw the guardian of the Empire, the Light of Velentia, Gandalf Ashborn, the only known sage.
Vesper looked at Gandalf for a while before letting out a sigh, from his experience in his past life, the powerful old geezers, always had a unique train of thought.
"Well, young boy, there is no need to be on guard so much, even if you put up all your defences, I would be able to erase your existence with a single action." He said.
Hearing his words Vesper relaxed a bit and looked at the Sage.
"What have I done that deserves the Imperial Guardian's attention." Vesper said.
"Bold, I like it, I only wonder how long you have been pretending to the entire family and decide to show your colours now."
"Oh well, I know you would go for that fruit in a few days, and honestly I don't want such a good sprout to meet its end by foolishness." Gandalf continued as he stroked his beard.
Vesper looked at him unsure of what to do and just said, "So what teachings do you have for me."
Gandalf waved his hand causing every where to be as dark as night. Vesper stood shocked, he knew that the Imperial Guardian was a light magic user, so how did he make everything dark.
"You see boy, mastering your element allows you to wield it in mysterious ways, my mastery of light has gotten to the point I can remove light and bring it back.
At that point the space became so bright that it was blinding that Vesper closed his eyes.
Opening his eyes he saw Gandalf standing before him, the light glowed around him, making him look like a divine being.
Not saying anything he closed his eyes and tried to feel the element of space around him.
Seeing this Gandalf sighed, "Talented children and their reflex meditation, I want to see what you come out with boy."
In a room in the palace two figures dashed around, one holding a slender sword and the other holding a giant axe.
Their hair swayed around as they clashed and separated, at the corner a lady dressed in black stood quietly saying nothing.
"Cath my dear, I understand you but you can not test your father at this point." Chloe said as she moved around with Catherine.
Both of them were moving as if they were taking a casual step, but they could appear and disappear, their steps and movements were filled with grace.
"Say what you want to say bluntly mother." Catherine said without a ripple of emotion on her expression.
Chloe twisted and avoided the blade of the axe and leaped backward before releasing a chilly aura and stepping forward.
"You can not love that boy, your father would not like it and most of all I forbid it." Chloe's aura had pressed down on Catherine causing her to fall on her knees.
Chloe released her aura and turned passing her sword to Lisa, her handmaid and left the private training room.
Catherine remained on her knees, her eyes listless and then she got up and walked away.
While Chloe and Lisa walked, Lisa spoke.
"Your highness, I think you were being to harsh with your daughter, she too is just like you." Lisa said.
Chloe sighed and replied, "That is exactly why I must be harsh on her, and this is not enough to stop her, the current Vesper is an oddity, the changes in his character and demeanour are too drastic, more like his is a different person. I can not allow my daughter get dragged in a messy situation because of her feelings."
Lisa said nothing else and they both walked to their room.
Catherine entered her room and fell on her bed, her listless eyes were filled with tears, then a female with wings appeared by her.
"Tch, that siren dares to make you cry again, I will cut her tails when next I see her." she said.
Catherine did not even hear her as she continued sobbing nonstop, a while later her sobbing reduced. Then she sat up wiping her eyes and saying, "Sabrina, let us go on with the pact.
The succubus looked at her in shock and shook her head, "No way girl, do you want that old man to wipe you out, he would sense the pact and you know very well that succubus familiars are more demonic than the sirens that are more human like, I can't let you fall into danger, but I can teach you how to fight,"
Catherine looked at her and said nothing, walking out of the room.
Back to Gandalf, he stood there watching Vesper meditate for more than an hour, as soon as he was getting bored of staring at the boy. Vespers eyes opened.
Suddenly he felt a pressure surround the space and then felt nothing at all, he could not even sense the light element in the surrounding space.
A white glow emitted from his being, forcefully pushing the space around him and then shattered Vespers' control over the space.
Vespers eyes regained clarity and he had blood dripping from his nostrils, before collapsing.
Gandalf appeared by him, catching him before he fell on the ground and sighed.
"Why do all the genius have a stupid character of breaking the body limits.
Hours later Vesper woke up in his room on his bed and saw a note beside the table.
On the note it wrote.
Do not get yourself killed while fighting that grandmaster ranked beast, it is sleeps quite deeply at high noon.
Vesper read the note and stood up, donning an all black robe he sat in the middle of his room in meditation.
In another room, Marcus stood before Gandalf.
"Marcus, you knew how much that boy meant to Amara, allowing anything befall him by the members of your family is plain stupidity. No matter what Anna has sacrificed, Amara gave her life for you, never forget that."
Vanishing into light particles, Marcus could only stare at where his father was in silence.
The following morning Catherine sat on her bed and heard a knocking sound on the door.
Knock knock.
