The Demon Slayer, seeing a glimmer of hope, wept tears of relief.
Ryuji and Tanjiro accelerated their pace, reaching the Slayer. Tanjiro stopped and asked, "Are you alright? What happened here?"
Suddenly, an immense force pulled the Slayer upward, lifting him into the air!
"Help me!" the Slayer cried in despair.
Tanjiro, stunned, froze.
Ryuji hesitated, but reacted swiftly.
"Water Breathing, Eleventh Form, Water Serpent Slash!"
He instantly used the Eleventh Form.
Ryuji drew and sheathed his blade with lightning speed, a mere flicker of movement.
A water blade flashed, then vanished.
The Slayer fell heavily to the ground, the pulling force seemingly gone.
Ryuji wasn't sure what had pulled the Slayer. If it were invisible, his attack would have been ineffective. However, sensing something severed, he knew it had a physical medium.
He suspected it was incredibly thin, almost invisible threads, not ordinary ones, capable of exerting such force.
The Slayer coughed up blood, severely injured. Ryuji couldn't catch him; he was too late. Tanjiro and the others were still stunned.
Seeing the Slayer fall, Tanjiro realized Ryuji had acted. He rushed to help, laying the Slayer on the ground.
While Tanjiro helped, Ryuji examined the Slayer's back, finding severed, thin threads. They were remarkably soft, seemingly incapable of lifting a person.
"Mount Natagumo? Spider Mountain? Were those threads… spider silk?" Ryuji wondered.
"Are you alright? What happened?" Tanjiro anxiously asked, ignoring the details.
The Slayer coughed, saying, "Don't go into the mountain. You'll die!"
"What happened?" Tanjiro pressed.
The Slayer fainted.
