Ryuji hadn't expected Zenitsu to use this as leverage, replying, "What's there to be embarrassed about? Unlike you, I didn't spend ten days waiting to be fed and pampered by Yumi-san! You're practically waiting for her to feed you."
During those ten days, Ryuji, not needing to rest, helped Yumi with chores, even accompanying her to the market.
Of the three injured men, Zenitsu had it the easiest; he was just short of having Yumi feed him.
Zenitsu, slightly ashamed, scratched his head, "I'm injured! Injured people deserve special treatment!"
Ryuji didn't argue, using Wood Breathing to accelerate the healing of Zenitsu's broken bones.
A normal recovery would have kept them at Yumi's house for a month, which Ryuji found excessive. He wasn't embarrassed, just annoyed by Zenitsu's comfortable lifestyle.
Ten days later, Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Inosuke were mostly healed. They prepared to leave.
Yumi's grandmother, concerned, called the doctor for another check-up. The doctor was surprised to find them nearly fully recovered.
Once they were deemed healed, the grandmother agreed to their departure.
They changed back into their own clothes, now freshly laundered by Yumi and subtly scented with wisteria.
As they changed, a crow flew in through a crack in the window and landed on the tatami mat.
"North-North-East! North-North-East!"
"Your next mission is Mount Natagumo in the North-North-East! Proceed immediately!"
The crow relayed their new assignment.
They left the room, fully prepared. Yumi and her grandmother walked them to the gate.
"Thank you for your care," Tanjiro bowed deeply. Ryuji and Zenitsu followed suit.
Yumi and her grandmother returned the bow.
Inosuke, seemingly unaware of proper etiquette, watched blankly.
Zenitsu pushed his head down.
"What are you doing?" Inosuke grumbled.
"You idiot! It's a sign of respect and gratitude to Yumi's family!" Zenitsu, always mindful of etiquette in formal settings, scolded him.
