Chapter 44 - The Headmistress (2)

'Fuck!'

Jamie cursed inside his head as his thoughts wandered into many ways he could get out of this situation as calmly as possible.

The woman in front of his eyes is certainly a beauty that can rival even Alanna although she is much older.

But Jamie is not in a normal situation as he felt that hecouldn't move his body as he willed when he realised that the headmistress's gaze is locked onto him.

'She's inspecting me' He thought in fear.

She really was trying to inspect him using her own senses as an Expert Realm Mage, But what Jamie didn't knew is that she's having a hard time trying to do that, Even so Jamie can barely keep his composure.

This isn't his grandparents as they always restrained themselves in front of Jamie and their family, So Jamie naturally didn't have any chance to see how powerful their presence were when they're not restraining themselves normally.

Each passing second was like hours for Jamie as he stared at the headmistress calmly, struggling to keep his composure on the inside.

Meanwhile the headmistress herself is confused and surprised about what kind a being Jamie was.

'This is really unusual' she thought.

'I really can't see into him no matter how hard I try, It's possible If I make direct contact though' she was surprised yes, but it was not by a lot because she's seen many more surprising things before during her liftime until now.

'Is this somehow a reason why that person made such decree for this boy?' she thought to herslef in amuse.

'He's calm even in my presence? How did he get here in the first place?' she was curious about Jamie from the begining, Now that he's here she's even more curious as to how he came to this side passing the barrier without her knowing.

"You seem to be lost in your thoughts since you didn't answer me" she smiled at Jamie.

'Well now, didn't her student said the same thing to me when we first met.' Jamie laughed softly without even realising as he remembered how Alanna said the same thing when they met for the first time during the banquet.

"Why are you laughing now?" the headmistress raised her brows as he didn't expect Jamie to laugh in a situation like this at all.

"Ah no, I'm sorry. It's just that the deputy headmistress Alanna asked me the same thing when we first met, so it was a bit funny." He spoke for the first time keeping his composure.

"Well, I guess she takes after me since I'm her teacher." The headmistress smiled lightly at his response.

"But really, how did you get here? This area is off limits even to the professors in the academy and the barrier prevents anyone from even seeing or sensing this place." The headmistress spoke.

"If you're her teacher, that means you're the Headmistress of the academy?" Jamie asked.

"Yes I am." The headmistress answered.

"You're really good at disctracting others aren't you?, You just avoided every question I asked of you ever since you got here." She continued looking straight into his eyes as she got up from the wooden bench she was sitting on.

Jamie became nervous as he saw her walking toward him slowly.

Her dark blue gown and her smooth black hair fluttered slightly due to the wind, she raised her right hand as she moved few strands of her hair behind the ear in a elegant manner.

Even though Jamie was in a very serious situation, he couldn't help but stare at her face as he saw how her long eyelashes moved up and down as she blinked. Time seemed to have slowed down that Jamie was totally captured by her enchanting figure.

She walked closer toward Jamie and she stopped right infront him within an arms length of distance from him.

Jamie started feeling more nervous because of how close she is but he didn't show it on the outside as he held it in, keeping his calm demeanor.

"Your eyes are dangerous. It's easy to get lost inside them if someone stares into them for a while" The headmistress spoke looking at him with a light smirk playing on her lips.

"Are you scared?" she asked smiling at him.

"To be honest, yes. I'm a bit scared." Jamie let out a deep exhale and hung his head low.

"Hahaha, I thought you weren't, seeing how calm you were" The headmistress laughed softly covering her mouth.

Jamie noticed how both the headmistress and Alana is pretty similar not in terms of appearance but interms of actions.

"You're both very similar on how you interract with others." Jamie said to her narrowing her eyes slightly.

"Who? Alanna?" The headmistress asked.

"Yes." He nodded.

"Well, she seems to have picked my actions up after spending al that time with me" she smiled softly.

"Tell me how you got in here" this time she spoke in tone that Jamie couldn't avoid answering.

"It's just one of my tricks" he said in a low voice.

'This wouldn't have happened if my stealth worked on the Expert realm mages' he sighed inwardly in frustation.

"IF REQUIRED THE [STEALTH] ABILITY CAN BE UPGRADED" system suddenly sent a messege to him saying he could upgrade his abilities.

'WHAT!!' he almost screamed in anger in front of the headmistress who's looking at him furrowing her brows.

She seems to be displeased at his response.

'Why didn't you tell me that I could upgrade my abilities?' he was annoyed that the system didn't tell him this sooner and only told him after he got into this mess.

"THE HOST NEVER ASKED TO UPGRADE THE ABILITIES BEFORE." system responded.

'Great, so it's my fault.' he was even more angry at the system's answer.

'Now that I think about it, this is really a weird situation. The headmistress is angry at my answer and I'm angry at the system's answer.' he thought to himself.

'You better give me a full course on what the system can do after this is over.' he sighed inwardly.

"YES HOST" system responded.

Meanwhile, The headmistress stared at him for a while without saying anything.

"Are you angry that I didn't answer your question?" Jamie decided it's best to keep the situation controlled.

"No" she shook her head saying she wasn't really angry.

"In fact, I'm curious about you." she said.

"Curious about...me?" Jamie was surprised that he piqued her interest that easily.

"Is it because I have four elements?" he asked when he thought about how famous he was for awakening four elements.

"No" she shook her head again.

"You're not the only one who can control four elements, I know someone else who is the same as you" she smiled saying it wasn't that much of a big deal.

"There's someone else?" Jamie widened his eyes at her words.

"Of course, a few thousand years ago many quadra elemental mages existed."

"Such a pity haah... even finding a dual elemental mage is rare nowdays" she sighed softy as she turned back and walked back to the bench.

"Come, sit with me." she said.

Jamie was nervous but he still moved his legs and looked at her sitting on the bench.

She raised her brows and moved her hand aside to pat on the bench saying to sit there.

'haha' Jamie laughed inwardly as he took a seat beside her on the bench.

"You know, people on the outside thinks you're just a eighteen year old brat who was lucky enough to awaken four elements." The headmistress stared into the calm scenery around her as she spoke softly.

"But you're already at the Half Sovereign Realm, Proving that every one of them are just Idiots." she turned to look at him with a smile on her face.

"I already knew you figured it out when we met earlier, so i'm not even surprised." Jamie sighed softly as he watched how the pink petals are just floating away, carried by the wind.

"I can see your true cultivation even if you hide it. But I already knew about it before today... Alanna told me about you some time ago when you arrived at the academy." The headmistress said.

"She did?" Jamie was surprised to hear that Alanna talked to her about him.

'I didn't expect that.' he smiled in joy as he realised that he has left somewhat of an unforgettable image in her mind.

Oblivious to his thoughts The headmistress kept asking him questions.

"Aren't you supposed to be at your classroom, so what are you doing here?" the headmistress didn't really realised this until now which is weird.

"Uh..." Jamie couldn't come up with an answer for that question quickly.

The headmistress narroweed her eyes slightly

"Are you looking down on the teachings because you're already at the Half Sovereign realm?" she asked, her voice a bit colder than before.

"No,no..It's just that there's a special situation today, so I had to skip the classes" Jamie shook his hands quickly denying her accusations.

"And even If i'm a Half Sovereign realm mage, the practical lessons are really beneficial for me." Jamie spoke up.

"Is that so?" The headmistress still seems to be suspecting him.

"I'm telling you it's not like that...I just have something special to do today, So I didn't have a choice" Jamie tried to explain it to her so he could resolve the misunderstanding.

"Hahaha.. you're really easy to scare off kid." She laughed soflty as she spoke to Jamie.

Jamie was stunned for a while because he realised that he fell for her teasing that easily.

'Damn, I thought I was a good talker. No no it must be because I'm intimidated by her aura' he shook his head denying the possibility of him possesing low class skills.

"I'm really sorry that I barged in here breaking the rules." Jamie sat up suddenly and bowed his head slightly.

"It's okay" the headmistress shook her head lightly.

"Headmistress, What's the name of this flower?" Jamie asked as he walked slowly toward a tree, letting a breath out softly.

The tree was fully covered with the pink flowers and second by second a few petals would fall slowly making the scenery around it look so beautiful.

The headmistress moved her gaze from the trees onto his back after then.

"Alanna told me that you were also interested in these flowers." she spoke.

"It's beautiful and peaceful" Jamie said.

"Yes....Plum Blossoms, That's the name of these flowers" she smiled lightly reaching out to collect a floating petal.

'Plum Blossoms' Jamie widened his eyes as he realised that name was also used back on earth to mention the same similar trees in Japan.

'How is that possible?' his mind started racing.

'I've read that name, Plum Blossoms'

'how come it's also called by that name in this world.'

'Did someone plant the same tree on earth..or someone planted the tree here?' he thought of many possibilities.

'There has to be some kind of a connection between the two worlds. If my soul can enter a body in this world then it confirms that there is a connection between the two worlds'

'Wait...if there is a connection, could It be..That I'm not the only one who transmigrated here? Could there be others?' His heart started beating faster and faster as his mind wandered off to many thoughts.

'Why didn't I think of this before?'
