It was morning and the newly joined mages had to attend to their first class in the morning.
As usual Jamie woke up from the sound of the bell, he had a nice little chat with Esmeralda as well before he washed himself and wore his uniform to head back to the classroom.
On his way to the classroom he met with many girls and as usual they all greeted him smiling and blushing, Of course Jamie liked all the attention he was getting.
But he noticed that the chatterbox, Kyla was very quiet today and she kept looking at him weirdly with a blush on her face, Jamie could see her face all red and her weird behavior because she sits right next to him on the classroom.
'What's with her? She's acting weird' He thought.
Jamie noticed how the usually annoying Trevor and other boys are also quiet, Only giving him some glances and not saying anything to mock him or provoke him.
'I have a bad feeling.' Jamie felt that the day he's having is not going to be a usual, normal day he was thinking it to be.
"Why are you so quiet today?" He turned to Kyla and asked while keeping a small smile on his face.
Kyla's breath hitched at his voice and she answered him in a meek voice and Jamie could barely hear her,
"It's nothing." she replied.
While on the other side Trevor was sweating nervously because he realized how much of a fool he was, he didn't even think things through before writing that letter and delivering it to Kyla last night like a total idiot.
'I should've done that tonight. shit, why did I do something stupid like that?'
'I totally forgot that she would talk to Jamie about the letter.'
'Shit!!, I'm a fucking fool..' he cursed himself for being a Idiot once again as he realized how much of a big mistake he has done.
'If she realise that Jamie is not the one who gave her that letter, she would be cautious and won't come out to meet anyone if we do something like this again.'
'I'll get wrecked by those seniors then.' Trevor was having a crisis right now.
The others around him could see how he's biting his nails and sweating profusely.
"What's wrong with you, why are you acting nervous all of a sudden?" one of the boys asked him.
"I made a huge mistake. fuck!!" Trevor answered him gritting his teeth.
"I think we need to get out of this class and... we need to drag Jamie out of here as well." Trevor spoke with a heavy voice making the atmosphere around him all serious.
"What are you talking about? It's professor Luna's class and how are we going to drag Jamie out of here as well?" one of the boys spoke up confused.
"I don't know.. we can't let Jamie and Kyla meet each other untill all the classes are done today or our plans will fail." Trevor said looking at them in a serious voice.
"Think something" He looked around the other boys to see if anyone has any methods to make this work.
Meanwhile back on Jamie's side,
'So you have done something huh?' Jamie smirked like a demon feeling excited, fortunately he hid his smirk pretty quickly so no one saw.
He knew something was weird about today so he used [SENSE] to spy on Trevor and the others because he sensed him looking at him, acting all nervous.
He naturally heard everything they said because his sense picked up all the things they talked about.
'They don't want me and Kyla to meet each other and she's also been acting weird today.' He thought to himself as he realised there's a trap laid for him already.
'Fine. let's see what kind of a trap you have laid out for me' Jamie waited for an almost week hoping someone would approach him, hoping that some arrogant seniors would attack him, trying to bully him or something.
But nothing happened for the past week, only some boys in his same class mocking him and giving him some stares, that's all.
So he's feeling a surge of excitement because things are finally starting all of a sudden.
'Can't let my gaurd down at all huh? If it wasn't for this bad feeling I had ever since today morning I wouldn't even bother to spy on those losers.' Jamie realised he has been too complacement about everything around him since no one made any trouble for him much ever since he arrived here.
He looked at Kyla for a moment studying her face and her expressions, he could see how she's desperately trying to avoid his eyes because she's shy or something.
He sank backward to his chair and looked straight turning his head forward.
He spoke in a low voice so only Kyla could hear,
"Kyla whatever happened tomorrow yesterday after classes or today morning, I want you to know that It's not me."
Kyla widened her eyes for a moment as he heard Jamie's voice.
She look at him turning her head toward him, seeing him look straight ahead without even glancing at her and seeing how he spoke in a hushing tone Kyla realised that something was wrong.
'What did he mean by that?' she thought about the letter last night and how Jamie acted earlier in the morning asking why she's acting strange.
'I thought he was teasing me, since he's naturally someone who would do that'
'The letter.... was it not him who gave me that.' she realised quickly that someone else must've delivered that letter to her room, making it look like it was Jamie who did that.
She came to a quick conclusion even though she was feeling somewhat confused and disappointed.
"Last night i found a letter in my room, right beside the door. Someone pushed it inside my room from under the door." kyla spoke softly so no one could hear her.
"What did it say?, Don't look at me and keep your head down. Make it look like you're not willing to talk to me at all." Jamie kept his eyes straight and said to Kyla again making it so that Trevor and the others could see he's not speaking to Kyla at all.
Kyla did as he told her to and spoke to him.
"In the letter it said to meet you at the old echantment building behind the old garden."
'The previous enchantment building is not being used by anyone i think. Is it a hangout place for some guys at the academy?' Jamie thought of as to why Kyla would be called to such a place.
"Kyla, can you....trust me?" Jamie took some time to think before he decided to ask her for help because Jamie needed to see what exactly they would do after calling her to that place.
"What do you mean." Kyla was nervous because of the sudden question.
"I want your help Kyla. Trust me, nothings going to happen to you while I'm here." Jamie said.
Kyla's face turned red when she heard such a line coming out of Jamie's mouth, She was very nervous as she realised that Jamie would definitely ask her to visit the place mentioned in the letter.
"You want me to do as the letter say don't you?" she asked.
"Yes. Don't worry nothing will happen to you, I'll be right behind you watching you all the way there. They want something to do with me, Not you Kyla. So... will you help me?" Jamie took a quick glance at her and asked.
"Do you think you can handle it if someone wants to harm you there?" Kyla asked.
"Listen to this carefully. What I'm going to tell you now is a huge secret of mine Kyla, I haven't told many people about this. So, you're the first among many of my trusted people to know this." Jamie smiled light;y as he spoke to Kyla.
Kyla's eyes widened for a moment as she turned her head to see Jamie's face for a moment before she turned back again.
'He trust me enough to share his secrets with me. Maybe I'll....help him. But if something goes wrong...' one on side she was happy that Jamie trusts her enough to reveal his secrets to her but she's also really scared about Jamie's request.
"I reached the Half Soveregin Realm a few days before the Academy started. So, even if those soon to graduate seniors came looking for a fight. I doubt they'll win against me. You have nothing to fear, I'll keep you safe." Jamie said while making his voice more lower sensing his surrounding to make sure no one else other than Kyla would hear him.
"WHAT!!" Kyla almost screamed out loud but fortunately her voice came out as a silence scream. But she was really surprised of what she heard.
"Turn your head back!!" Jamie quickly said to her making sure Trevor and the others didn't see them.
"Sorry" Kyla closed her eyes tightly banging her head on the table, apologizing quietly.
"Did you really reach the Half Sovereign Realm? Really?" she asked again, feeling shocked within.
"Haha, I did and I told you it's a huge secret that not many know about. My parents know and probably the Deputy Headmistress might know about it too since I met her at the banquet back then." Jamie thought back to how Alanna bypassed his [SENSE] and came right behind him.
"Other than that I don't think anyone else knows, so you're the only one I told about it." Jamie said to her.
'That's a lie, The first to know about it is Esme. haha' He laughed inwardly while spewing lies outside.
'Unbelievable...a Half Sovereign Mage at the age of eighteen. He's a monster' Kyla thought inwardly as to how such cultivation speed was possible in the first place.
'With such a fast cultivation speed and possessing four elements. In the future I can't imagine how powerful Jamie would become'
'Maybe I don't need to be scared much since he said he would protect me...and he seems to be hiding a lot more too. He's not an average genius that's for sure.' Kyla made up her mind to help Jamie to maintain her good relationship with him.
"Altight. I'll help you, But you have to promise you'll keep me safe Jamie. I'm a bit scared." she said to Jamie putting a light smirk in his face.
"Good. Don't worry. I told you, No would be able to do a thing to you with me here." Jamie spoke up feeling a rush of adrenaline coursing through his body.
"All you have to is do exactly what the letter says. It's trevor and his friends who put that letter inside your room last night, Don't look at them suddenly. They seems to be nervous about their success I guess seeing they're looking at us so nervously. I'll be right beside you when you go there. No one would be able to do a thing to you" Jamie spoke making Kyla surprised once again.
'Trevor?' she didn't look at them like Jamie told her to but she was angry at how she was tricked by them.
"Now, I'm going to go outside. I won't be attending the classes today, don't be surprised. I'll be with you when the time's right. Just go to that place when the classes are done, I'll be with you." Jamie looked at her and turned around to speak to the girl beside him.
"Anna, I'm not feeling great today. I think I'll sit this class out. Can you give me your notes later to me."
Anna, the girl beside him widened her eyes and she spoke almost after he finished,
"Are you okay Jamie, are you sick. You should go back to the dormitory then. I'll give you my notes once the class is ended." she nodded as she promised to give him her notes on the theory today.
"Thanks" Jamie smiled at her and sat up from his chair, picking up his books. He took a quick glance at Kyla who's now looking at him worriedly and walked out of the classroom heading back to his room.
'She's somewhat of a good actor i guess.' He laughed to himself.
"Look, he's heading back to his room."
"He's not feeling good? suddenly?"
The boys around Trevor spoke to him after Jamie went outside the classroom.
"One of you follow him and see where he goes" Trevor said.
'Jamie and Kyla didn't speak much'
'She definitely beleives that It's jamie who sent the letter, I can tell just from the way she's acting. She's too shy to even look at his face. Jamie also didn't speak to her at all earlier.' Trevor made sure to keep a close eye on them to see if they talked to each other.
'I hope i'm right.'
