Elena let out a quiet sigh as she stepped away from the wardrobe, disappointment sinking heavily in her chest. She felt both foolish and embarrassed. Foolish that her pathetic plan had failed, and embarrassed for choosing a gown King Killian hated, all in the naive hope that he might actually kiss her. "I should've known better," she thought bitterly. "Things in movies don't happen in real life."
She watched as Irene tried to get the bathing kit. But before she could get it, she said, "It's okay, Irene. I want to bathe myself today." She didn't want Irene helping her. Irene was too observant and might start asking questions about last night and she was not ready to answer.
"Okay," Irene murmured, her curious eyes fixed on Elena's face. How come Elena had a great night and King Killian didn't? Did they have a fight? And why did he choose to burn all of the nightwear similar to the one Elena was currently wearing?
