"What's happening?" Cambela was startled. Her senses were dulling.
Her mind, sharp just a moment ago as it analyzed every detail of the girl's ascension, suddenly became… sluggish.
She could no longer focus; it felt as if she were falling into a state of pure stillness, total absence of thought.

But after a brief moment, she managed to break free from the sensation. After all, she was far stronger than Victoria. She was a genuine Rank EX. She couldn't possibly be affected by the power of a newly ascended Rank S.

Turning her head toward his direction, she noticed the boy standing still, unmoving, his eyes vacant.

Just as Cambela stepped closer to help him snap out of it, the atmosphere shifted back to normal. The energy began flowing again, and time seemed to resume.
