Zane POV
All three of us turned toward him.
"Since I'm the reason he's hurt," Alfie continued, his voice solemn and steady, "then I should be the one to take care of him. I need to make this right."
A sharp shiver ran down my spine. The air shifted. Rhys and Cassian both turned toward Alfie with barely contained fury, as if insulted by the very suggestion.
"No!" the identical twins snapped in unison, their voices rising with disbelief.
"You should just leave and go finish your little brawl with Knox," Cassian said coldly, his golden eyes flashing with disdain. "Don't bring your rage and recklessness back into this room. I won't let you destroy Zane....not after the fortune I spent to make him mine. I haven't even unwrapped my treasure, and already you've damaged him." His hand reached out to brush my hair gently, but I flinched and swatted it away.
And there it was again....the way they talked about me like I was a collectible.
