Hazel was with her favorite new being. To others she was quite scary but for her she was a kind friend. The first time Palsa spoke to her she thought her mind may have possibly broken.
Palsa was a common Welsh Green dragon and Hazel was always taught that En dragons never grew strong enough to talk. Palsa cleared that myth up when she told her that dragons in En learned about their kin in other dimensions being killed off and the only explanation given was when they tried to negotiate humans became crazy.
They all assumed it was because humans could not handle a dragon speaking into their minds. When Palsa recognized how strong Hazel was she gave it a try.
They were not talking because Hazel was too deep in thought and every time Palsa spoke to her she got half hearted confused responses. So she stopped trying and decided on a nap instead.
They both looked to their right. Their eyes narrowing.
'It's a spirit." Palsa lowered her large head when she knew there was no true threat."
'A spirit?' Hazel decided to project her thoughts. 'Michael is that you?'
'Yes.'
That one simple word sent chills down her spine. Palsa looked up again.
'A spirit from behind the veil?' She side eyed Hazel. 'You are not channeling are you?'
'No. I do not like to disturb those at rest.'
'Well this one seems to have come to bother you. It, he, must be attracted to you like metal to a magnet.'
Hazel nodded she knew of this phenomenon but she did not want this for Michael. She would have to figure out how to send him on his way.
Hazel , Hermione, and Evervine sat close together seemingly whispering over a book.
"I don't know why George is always so mad at Fred."
"Because he wants to spend time with you! Come on you understand that."
"Says the woman who still doesn't understand why Marcel is always practicing transfiguration with her." Hazel mumbled her words but Evervine heard her. Her eyes went wide and her mouth fell open. Hermione bit her lip to stop from laughing. Hazel looked to her and her eyes went wide. Hazel giggled.
"No. I was just going to ask how are classes going for you?"
"Oh really good. Professor McGonagall helped me a lot."
Evervine quickly calmed and became curious.
"Really? How?"
Hermione looked around surreptitiously and then pulled a pendant out from under her shirt. Hazel nodded when she saw it.
"So you are taking everything aren't you?"
"Well of course."
Hazel rolled her eyes and shook her head. Evervine simply looked confused. Hazel looked to her and whispered.
"It's a time-turner." Evervine's eyes went wide and she refocused on the pendant. Meanwhile Hazel turned back to Hermione and Hermione rolled her eyes.
"You can not talk Hazel you have been studying magic since you were three." Hazel conceded this point.
Hazel let out a loud sigh and then looked to Marcel. Everyone, except Marcel looked at her and then followed her line of site to Marcel. Feeling all eyes on him Marcel slowly looked up from his work and looked at them.
"Marcel I need your help. I know that you and I are not at our best right now but I need some advise. Michael has gone across the veil in Tan but he continues to seek me out in En. I have told him I will try to finish what he wants finished but it is not that. He has attached himself to me and I need to break that attachment and bring him peace. I have found a ritual to do that but I need a family member involved and the consent of that family member is necessary for the ritual to succeed."
Hazel said everything in one go and very fast. It left her out of breath and red in the face. Also she was doing her best not to look at Harry or let on to everyone that they were currently not speaking.
She had been so upset and confused after their "talk" she didn't know what to do so she did nothing. Harry was her brother and he was a part of him that she had unknowingly missed until she found him when they were five. After that she had not been without him. If she needed him she called to him and he always came. If he needed her it was the same.
Now she lost her other half all over again. The thought of it almost broke her down again.
"Why has he attached himself to you?"
"His last thought was to protect me. But now he is a spirit and he sees the truth of things. He knows that she is not done with me."
Everyone looked back at Hazel with narrowed eyes. She had told everyone not to worry but clearly a spirit was very worried.
Marcel nodded. "I will talk to my aunt."
"Okay. Now that we have that cleared up what is going on between you and Harry?'
"Don't look at Evervine like that. We are not stupid we can tell something is wrong."
Hazel smiled broadly, still avoiding Harry's gaze, not knowing he was avoiding hers as well.
"There's nothing wrong. We don't have a problem."
They both answered in unison with shaky smiles and never taking their eyes off their friends. Both Hermione and Evervine rolled their eyes and Marcel shook his head. Ron just smiled.
Hazel, George, and Fred were on the dreamscape together. Hazel was smiling at George's frustrated look. He had asked her if Fred could come to the dreamscape and she had said yes. She felt how deflated he became with one simple word.
"Don't worry about Harry. You two will be okay." She smiled at Fred as George scowled at him. He turned to her with a smile that turned to confusion.
"Why didn't you tell me about this sooner? I knew something was wrong but you kept saying all was okay."
Hazel shrugged. "I thought…"
"Leave her alone, she told you now didn't she?" Hazel's eyebrows went up and George frowned deeply. She looked to George with a smile.
"Calm down George he was just…"
"Why can't we have any privacy Fred?! Do I bother you when you and Angelina spend time together." Fred stiffened.
"Guys calm down."
"I just want to have some time alone with you."
And all of a sudden wands were drawn. Hazel thought she was in the middle of a conversation with George when she was suddenly pushed to the side and stinging wizzbangs began flying around the space. She had created the spell as a present for George so she knew it only stung and would not cause any harm so she just laid low and waited for them to finish.
