An ancient woman sat in a great hall. It was made of the blackest wood and glass, with pristine white marble floors. Great old tapestries hung on the walls and intricate runes lined areas in inexplicable ways.
The old woman sat, with a slight smirk on her face, listening to Adam Ambrose lament about Rosa, the family protégé. The woman, Clementine Ambrose, the Elder of the Ambrose family, was smirking because she had spoken to Adam, too many times, about how he allowed Rosa too much freedom. Now he was seeing the fruits of that labor.
She could not help but lament the fact that they would most likely never have the new fatetress on their side. Especially now. She looked to Adam and cut him off mid sentence.
"This boy was the fatetress' best friend?"
"Yes elder. It would seem that way. We can not even spin this in our favor because Rosa actually threatened the boy when she tried to gain control over the fatetress and everyone knows it. Now she flat out says she never really knew him and he was only an admirer. She has boys to back up her statements but she is now known to control and manipulate men." He sighed. "Their word has lost some validity."
The woman shook her head. "The fatetress would have known. The way Rosa described how everything happened it would seem that the boy had a number of wards and protections and he could not be killed but the constant torture caused him to kill himself. The fatetress would have known this.
I have felt her power. This is not beyond her to know. It is only a matter of time." She shrugged. "If the girl is the vengeful sort. I have a feeling she is not. You say she has left this dimension to study dragons in En Dimension?"
"Yes elder that has been verified."
She shrugged again. "Then she is forgiving and perhaps we have lost all access to the fatetress. If the seers of Ank find out about her." Another shrug. "She may become theirs."
Adam fought not to roll his eyes at all of the shrugs before he finally said. "Isn't there a prophecy about the fatetress on Ank. About the fatetress burning the great fourteen dimensions."
The old woman scoffed. "There is. And if we have contact with seven more dimensions I might consider it. Until then it is just talk not prophecy." He nodded.
Hazel sat quietly as the others went about doing different things on the dreamscape. She sighed and everyone stopped at the same time. She could not help but laugh.
"Harry has Uncle Sirius contacted you?"
That caused everyone to rush to her and sit around her to wait their turn to talk. Well everyone is probably an overstatement. Ron looked confused and Marcel continued to read a book he found on the dreamscape.
"He used the chimney to talk to me. He says that I am in danger but he was cut off."
She nodded. "Is he okay? He wanted me to cut off contact because he did not want me to be implicated by accident."
"He seems to be fine. They can not catch him."
"He spoke to you through a chimney?" Evervine looked at Hazel questioningly.
Hazel thought about it for a moment. "They call it the Floo network. It is similar to Tan's Shine Cast. They just use chimneys and Tan uses communal telepathic ways.
"Hmm… "You want him to be caught Ron?"
"I mean… he is dangerous."
"allegedly so."
Ron shrugged and decided to be quiet. If George thought he argued with his girl friend he would be in real trouble."
Hazel turned a sharp glare on him that made him jump. Had she heard what he just thought.
"Of course I did Ron, you refuse to learn how to close your thoughts off."
Hermione looked at Harry who was now frowning. "We all heard Ron."
Ron put his hand over his mouth as Evervine shook her head.
"I want to know about the dragons and then we can go back to Hogwarts."
Hazel lit up. "They are fascinating. I am trying to start a program to introduce dragons back to Tan, but everyone keeps telling me no." Hazel pouted a bit.
"And how is Norbert? He is very funny. He is so kind that he scares everyone."
Ron frowned. "That doesn't make sense."
"Well everyone is waiting for him to 'remember his nature' and attack."
Evervine was now pouting. "I wish they would let you bring some dragons to us."
"Me too, but I guess they have a valid point. Tan dragons were completely different. I think we should go explore the glass caves. Every time I think of dragons and Tan together I think of the glass caves and Spawn Lake."
"Glass Caves, Spawn Lake?" Hazel looked at Hermione with a frown so Evervine answered.
"Yes they are places in Tan Dimension. Spawn Lake randomly spawns anything so many people wonder why it has never spawned a dragon."
"Those are stupid people. It is not powerful enough for that."
Everyone looked to Marcel who still had his face in his book. Evervine shrugged.
"Marcel is right. And the Glass Caves are crystalline caves. Mostly just crystal you can see through but some of it is reflective as well. Many get lost in the space in between and they say that the beings that live in that space are not very kind."
"Okay. So how is the new defense against the dark arts teacher? Have you finally gotten a good one?"
"As a matter of fact we have. His name is Remus Lupin."
"Remus Lupin? That name is familiar." Hazel frowned and thought for a long while. She shook her head and shrugged. "So he is a good teacher?"
Both Harry and Hermion nodded enthusiastically. She nodded in return.
"I will be there for Christmas so I hope to meet him"
"you'll be at Hogwarts for Christmas!?" Hermione's enthusiasm made Hazel laugh.
"Yes. Mum wants me there and not at home." She shrugged and made note of Harry frowning when she said "mum".
"Anything else interesting?"
"Well I am not sure if we can call the Dementors interesting."
Evervine sucked in a breath. "Dementors! Hazel why didn't you tell me En still had Dementors?!" Evervine turned an accusatory glare onto Hazel. Hazel smiled and looked to Hermione who was a bit startled.
"Her ultimate goal is to transfigure into a spirit."
"That's not possible... Is it?"
"Exactly, ask her! The only person to ever successfully do it."
"You never saw me do that before."
Evervine pursed her lips. "Do you think that I can come to Hogwarts as well? if my mother says it's okay of course."
"I don't see why not. I will ask."
"Now. About the warning from Uncle Sirius…."
Harry shrugged. "I think we should just wait and see."
Hazel pursed her lips but said nothing.
Evervine sighed dramatically. "Okay. Let's not avoid this anymore. What are we going to do about Rosa?"
Marcel put down his book and looked at Hazel.
Hazel looked off. "for now… nothing. I have already promised."
"And can you tell us why he would make you promise that?"
"No. I can't. Not yet."
Marcel pursed his lips and raised his book. They sat in silence for a moment then Hermione bounced glances between Hazel and Evervine.
"Okay I want to visit the Crystal Caves and why would you think of the Spawn Lake when it is impossible? Can we visit there as well? Does it just continuously spawn?"
Hazel and Evervine shared a look and they both sat with Hermione. Evervine started the explanations.
After everyone else left Harry sat next to his sister. Neither one of them talked for a long time. Suddenly Harry spoke.
"Why do you…?"
"She is my mother Harry."
"James and Lily Potter are your parents." He stood up abruptly and began pacing. "Professor McGonagall is probably the coldest…"
"Not cold, strict."
"She is not your mother." Harry shouted so loudly it seemed like his voice echoed throughout the dreamscape.
Hazel sat quietly as he continued to stand over her and heave in breaths heavily.
"They are the only parents I have ever known."
"So should I consider the Durselys my parents?"
"It is not the same Harry. Our aunt has treated you shabbily because she was always jealous of our mother."
"Exactly! Our mother! That is not Professor McGonagall!"
Hazel knew that this conversation was coming but she never wanted to have it.
"Talk to me Hazel!"
"You do not want me to talk to you. You want me to obey you…
"They are my parents. I can not deny them."
"They are not your parents."
"Says you."
Harry stood abruptly.
"I suppose I am not your brother then?"
"So it is either you or them?"
"Exactly."
"Then I choose them because they never asked me to choose."
Harry left the dreamscape.
