Chapter 92: The Fall of God
"A God! Is an existence eternally above all living beings!"
Enel raised his hand, and a pillar of lightning shot straight into the heavens. The dense black thunderclouds instantly churned and surged!
Unbeknownst to them, the entire island was already covered by the thunderclouds, blotting out the sun! The world between heaven and earth became incredibly dim.
A fierce wind arose! It rustled through the entire forest, sweeping leaves towards Reiner.
Flocks of birds in the forest took to the air, scattering in all directions as beasts fled, as if they had already sensed the aura of apocalypse.
All surviving people on the island couldn't help but look up towards the sky.
Endless thunderclouds obscured all vision. The fierce wind whipped their hair wildly. The dark clouds swirled, forming a vortex, like a giant black funnel pointing inwards!
"Th-this is... Is the end of the world coming!?"
Gan Fall's mouth hung agape, unable to close. His pupils dilated, unable to look away from the black cloud vortex. Tears gradually welled in the corners of his eyes, streaming down his wrinkled face.
"Enel! Are you trying to destroy this country!?"
Gan Fall gritted his teeth, trembling uncontrollably, causing his armor to rattle. His face was filled with unwillingness. He gripped Pierre's reins tightly. "Pierre! We're going to Angel Island!"
I must!
I absolutely must get everyone to flee this place!!
Enel... he's gone mad!!!
Gan Fall turned his back to the dark clouds, charging straight towards Angel Island, his face a mask of unwavering determination.
Behind him, within the massive black vortex, a black sphere of lightning even larger than God's Land itself, like a natural disaster, revealed itself, carrying world-destroying power!
Numerous thick bolts of lightning covered the surface of the giant black sphere, coiling or churning like thunder dragons.
"Damn it!"
On the Giant Beanstalk, Wiper, rapidly gliding upwards, wore a grave expression.
The apocalyptic scene in the sky truly made his heart palpitate with fear.
"That bastard Enel! He actually wants to destroy this place!"
Wiper directly discarded his bazooka. The Wind Dials on his feet jetted out forcefully. His legs pumped continuously as he sped up the giant green beanstalk towards the sky, his face set with the resolve of one going to their death.
My comrades haven't evacuated yet! If that terrifying lightning ball falls, absolutely no one will survive! And!
Absolutely!
I absolutely must stop him!!
Shandora! It cannot be destroyed by his hands!!!
Wiper bit his teeth so hard they bled, dragging his scar-covered body onward with all his might.
The Giant Beanstalk shot straight into the heavens, reaching a height never before attained by Skypieans.
An island cloud of cotton white was entwined around the top of the beanstalk. Upon it stood an exquisitely crafted, massive golden bell.
It had endured four hundred years of wind and rain.
Guarding a promise that spanned the long river of history, waiting for the day in the future when it would be rung once more!
Aboard the Ark Maxim...
"Ye hahaha! Feel despair!"
Enel threw his head back and laughed wildly, the hurricane winds making his loose, oversized pants flap continuously. He lowered his brow, staring coldly at Luffy.
"This is my final gift to you! Using the energy condensed from this vast thundercloud to create a destructive technique that surpasses all limits... Raigo!"
"It will annihilate all of you along with the entire Godland into nothingness! Even defeating me won't stop it! Ye hahaha!"
"You big-earlobed freak!"
Seeing the enormous spherical thundercloud, even Luffy couldn't help frowning. He looked back at Enel, the anger in his eyes intensifying as he roared:
"What part of you even qualifies as a God!?"
"Heheh."
Enel just sneered coldly, once again transforming into several streaks of lightning, and dashed towards the Ark's pre-stored energy device.
It was an hourglass-shaped glass apparatus, its intricate internal structure flashing with intense electric light. Enel, using the last of his strength, punched the glass, shattering it.
Crash!
Glass shards flew everywhere. Enel, ignoring them, plunged his hand inside. His speed was so fast that Reiner and Luffy couldn't react in time.
The next moment...
Electrical current, as if drawn by a magnet, spiraled and coiled around his arm like blue earthworms. Enel, who had been extremely weak moments before, instantly regained some of his vigor.
RUMBLE!
The Ark, having lost a large amount of energy, shuddered to a halt. The entire vessel rocked violently, and Luffy, losing his balance, staggered.
He can even recharge in this way... but...
Reiner noticed the Ark had only stopped and hadn't begun to fall; his opponent hadn't completely absorbed the energy within.
Even now, Enel hasn't given up on the idea of reaching the Endless Earth via the Ark Maxim.
"Two Hundred Million Volt... AMAL!" (Thunder God)
A furious roar erupted. Reiner's gaze locked tightly onto him.
Berserk lightning surged around Enel's body. His elemental form expanded continuously but didn't dissipate, instead condensing as if liquid, the electric light shining with blinding intensity.
Eyes wide with fury, his body massive like a great Buddha descending upon the world, several thunder dragons rose from his back, coiling around him, arcs of electricity leaping like snakes.
"Straw Hat Kid! Just watch helplessly as this island is reduced to nothingness!"
Enel's voice was sonorous as a temple bell. He reached out, placing a hand on the golden Buddha head on the Ark. The gold, like liquid, was drawn out, rapidly cooling and reshaping. A giant trident formed, gripped tightly in his hand, aimed straight at Luffy.
"Luffy! Just focus on dealing with him! Blue Ogre and Red Ogre will take care of that thing!"
Pointing towards the Raigo slowly descending from the sky, Reiner shouted to Luffy below, then turned his gaze back to Enel in his Raizin form, his expression growing grave.
If Enel were in the Grand Line, he'd have a bounty of at least 500 million. In his Raizin form, he possesses the power to destroy heaven and earth with a wave of his hand.
This was why he'd brought Luffy here. Reiner could trade blows with Enel, even suppress him slightly, thanks to sand's non-conductive properties combined with Armament Haki – neither could be lacking.
Although Reiner's own strength was greater than Luffy's, and considering Enel's arrogant personality, Reiner would likely win in a solo fight. But against Enel, Luffy was clearly a safer bet.
Luffy didn't need to be as cautious as him, terrified of taking a direct hit and instantly dying. Luffy could just go all out recklessly. Enel's greatest threat was the power of his lightning, but unfortunately for him, the fruit counter was too overwhelming.
With Reiner nearby, there was no worry of Luffy failing. He had come to Sky Island specifically for Enel; the Rumble-Rumble ability was a must-have.
Frieren's overall stats were higher than Enel's, and her stamina crushed his.
In my hands, this ability's power will be even more formidable. Even in the New World, teeming with strong individuals, most people's Armament Haki couldn't withstand such terrifying attacks.
"Got it, Reiner! Leave that thing to you!"
Luffy's eyes were resolute. He turned back towards Enel, spread his feet, pushed off hard, and his figure vanished once more.
Leaving behind wisps of white steam and a deck cracked like a spiderweb.
"Gum-Gum Jet Whip!" Luffy roared furiously. His long leg lashed out like a whip, striking Enel's face, snapping his head to one side, a spray of blood erupting from his mouth.
But at the same time, Enel's large palm slammed down, the air itself searing hot from the terrifying electrical current, directly blasting Luffy away, sending him crashing heavily against the bow railing.
"Ssss—So hot!" Luffy got up, continuously blowing on himself. Several charred black marks had appeared on his body.
Enel laughed savagely, "Rubber may not conduct electricity, but it fears burning attacks! As long as the current is strong enough, the air itself can be heated and conduct electricity!"
"I've already found a way to deal with you! Ye hahaha!"
BOOM!!
Before his words faded, a massive sand python slammed down violently, its ferocious maw gaping wide as it tore towards Enel's enormous body, knocking him back over ten meters.
Blood trickled from the corner of Enel's mouth. He extended a large palm, grabbing the sand python barehanded, and crushed it with berserk electrical current until it disintegrated.
Reiner stood on the hawk summon, looking down from above.
"Sand Python Banquet!"
Several incredibly thick sand pythons once again soared into the air, Armament Haki rendering them black as ink, carrying the momentum of a thousand jun as they pounced from all directions.
"It's you again, bastard!" Enel's eyes were bloodshot with fury. The thunder dragons coiling behind him met the sand pythons head-on, entangling and tearing at each other.
Simultaneously, he raised his left hand, forming it into a palm, lightning surging and condensing within it.
"El Thor!" (God's Judgment)
"Tenfold Sand Mirror!"
Bang! Bang!
Bang! Layers of round sand shields arranged themselves in a line. The thick pillar of lightning bombarded the sand shields from below. The lightning was berserk, the pillar carrying terrifying high temperatures as it rapidly broke through one defense after another.
Until the lightning finally faded, the remaining sand shields flowed and reshaped, and dozens, even hundreds, of thin sand snakes shot out like lightning, as if tearing through the air.
"Trifling tricks!" Enel roared. The trident in his hand blazed with lightning. With a powerful upward slash carrying terrifying heat, the foremost sand snakes disintegrated.
Just as he was about to swing the trident again, Enel suddenly felt a sense of alarm. Before he could react, a large sandal imprinted itself on his face.
"Gum-Gum Jet Stamp!!"
Luffy's powerful kick squeezed the flesh on his face to one side, his expression instantly contorting.
BOOM!!
Enel crashed heavily to the ground. Sand snakes, flowing with the dark sheen of Haki, coiled around him, binding him tightly.
BANG—!
A dull gunshot rang out. A Seastone bullet accurately struck Enel's body, sending blood spraying.
"Rumble-Rumble! My Rumble-Rumble!"
An excited voice approached from afar. Reiner impatiently leaped down from the sky, landing beside Enel, who lay on the deck.
"Bastard... cough... what is this... cough cough... thing!?"
Enel glared fiercely at Reiner, struggling with his weakened body, looking like a writhing maggot.
"Get ready to go, Luffy! After I 'collect' him, I'll need to use that move!" Reiner placed a hand on Enel's shoulder, and azure flames surged out, enveloping his entire body.
"Got it!" Luffy looked up at the sky, deactivated Gear Second, and let out a long breath.
"This bastard!"
Thump!
Luffy slammed a fist into Enel's face, embedding his entire head into the deck. Wood chips flew as Enel's eyes rolled back white, and he completely lost consciousness.
The sudden movement nearly made Reiner lose his grip. He looked speechlessly at Luffy. "You sure hold a grudge... Scared me for a second."
"It's all this guy's fault! He made the Chestnut-Head Old Man dive under the sea for all those years!" Luffy yelled loudly.
Huh? Is that Enel's fault too?
"No, no... that doesn't seem right," Reiner thought, black lines forming on his head. Ah well, forget it. Luffy has his own way of understanding things.
Meanwhile, below the Ark, amidst the moss-covered ruins...
The rest of the Straw Hat crew had retreated far away to avoid being caught in the crossfire, all watching the spot tens of meters before them with grave expressions.
"Back in Little Garden... was this the technique that saved us then?" Nami, hiding behind a broken wall, peeked her head out, looking terrified at the two distant figures (Blue and Red Ogres).
The air was heavy, making one's heart pound with apprehension.
