Adam's voice cut the budding tension as he asked, "What are the names of those in your group?!" Hearing that, Aurelia turned away from Owen and towards Adam. She recognized him, not from the rumours, but during the mock trial, he was the guy with that Tokito guy. And both have been hanging out with Owen lately. "Aurelia Snow, Gabriel Snow, Asher Vale, Raj Sharma, and Reena Los!" Aurelia recited.
"Under which name, will you be registering the group?!" Adam inquired. "Aurelia!" Aurelia replied. "There, registered!" Adam said. Hearing that Aurelia left the place without hesitation. She couldn't bear Owen standing next to her at all. "Dude what was that for?!" whispered Adam. "You said you need some distraction for the stuck up nobles right?!" Owen asked. "I don't remember saying that, and even IF I did, which is a big IF, I don't remember Aurelia being stuck up!" Adam all but ranted. "Okay I'll try to tone it down!" Owen conceded.
Perhaps due to Owen's presence, even the so called nobles didn't cause any trouble in the lobby. But there always will be an outlier, maybe confident, or maybe just stupid. "So you're the one in the rumours with that stuck up bitch huh? you don't look like much!" A black haired girl said with a condescending gaze as she arrived at the lobby. "I have no idea what you're talking about!" Adam replied calmly. she was one of those types of nobles who disdain 'commoners' the most.
"One would think you were something else, giving how that bitch has rejected countless others!" the girl scoffed. 'Aurora rejected many people for this post?!' Adam thought baffled, completely misunderstanding what the girl meant. 'It seems I should appreciate this job more!' he thought to himself. "Hey don't you think that's enough Aria?!" Owen interjected. The girl whose name was Aria turned towards Owen. "Oh hi there Owen, I didn't see you there!" the girl mocked. "Thought it was a guard dog standing there all this while!"
"Well I've been called worst names!" Owen shrugged. "And at least I ain't barking for no reason, unlike someone of course!" He added. It took a few moments before Aria registered what Owen meant. Her face morphed between rage and embarrassment. Her aura burst out, while Owen just stared in amusement. She was a three starred rank 3. Meanwhile the bystanders were chattering about the unfolding drama.
-"Oh my god, are they going to fight?!" a cadet voiced. "Aria is too short tempered!" another cadet commented. "If it were me, I'll be pretty offended too, he said she was barking!" "Pretty sure she called him a guard dog first though!" A cadet countered. "Hmmph, isn't she right though? He's standing there acting like some sort of guard for that commoner!" another cadet scoffed. "It seems he doesn't know commoners of nowadays. Start treating them well and they'll start to act like they matter!" another added.
"If you're aren't ready to register, please give way to the next person!" Said Adam just as it was looking like Aria would Ponce on Owen any moment from then. Adam had a grasp of the girl's thinking. She probably had some kind of beef with Aurora, and thought it'll be nice to lay her grievances off on Aurora's diligent assistant. 'What's even the big deal with being Aurora's assistant anyway that everyone is buzzing about it?!' Adam scoffed internally. 'Except for the fact that she was undoubtedly the strongest first year by a far margin, had looks beyond what words could describe, and was part of the big seven.... okay I have to admit, she's pretty impressive, but still, it's just some assistant!' Adam reasoned.
Meanwhile Aria was livid, this commoner, how dare he speak to her like this? She wanted to carve his tendons out right this instant, but it'll be beneath her to snap, especially in front of so many cadets. So she calmed herself down, and decided to answer. But just as she was about to do so, "Didn't you hear what he said? One would think you were deaf or something!" Owen commented. She felt the limits of her control waiving, but she calmed herself down nonetheless.
She quickly gave the names of the her group members, the group name, and then left silently with no additional fanfare. Adam didn't have any more troubles after Aria left, but it was mostly because of Owen. Not long after, an hour or so give or take, the numbers of the cadets had dwindled slowly but surely, until there was only one cadet remaining in front of Adam. And soon Adam was also done with the cadet.
"So is that all?, have you registered everyone?" asked Owen. "No not yet, there are three more teams to be registered. Ours and two others!" Adam explained. "How do you know that?!" Owen inquired. "Well there were supposed to be one thousand freshmen, but since that incident, there were only nine hundred and seventy seven remaining!" Adam paused. "Your point?!" Owen asked. "If you divide that number by the five in each group, you would get a hundred and ninety five groups, and two remaining cadets. And here I have one hundred and ninety two groups registered!" Adam explained.
Just in cue, they heard the footsteps of someone approaching, soon a figure came into view. It was a stunning golden haired girl, who had a pair of golden eyes that moved like mercury. The figure was Ashley Wellington. "Look who's finally come to register!" Owen smirked. "Didn't think I'd see you here!" She addressed Owen with a subtle smirk. "I can be anywhere I like!" Owen shrugged. "Anyway I'm not here to entertain you, like you said, I'm here to register!" Ashley said turning to Adam.
"I don't think we've spoken before, I'm Ashley Wellington, nice to meet you!" Ashley introduced herself. "I'm Adam Walker, nice to meet you too. I've heard a lot about you from Owen!" Adam replied. "Oh really?, Ashley turned to Owen whose eyes were widened, before turning back to Adam. "Good things I hope!" she smiled. "All right, let's get this over with!" Ashley added.
"What are the names in your group!" Adam inquired coolly. "Ashley Wellington, Nevaeh Ashbourne, Lily Greatwoods, Jared De Silva, and Yan Luo!" Ashley recited. "Whose name would you like to register the group in?! asked Adam. "My name!" Ashley replied. After everything was done, Ashley left, but not before teasing Owen. After Ashley was completely out of view, Owen turned to Adam, "I don't remember telling you anything about her, talk less of a lot!" Owen said with a mock glare. "Relax already, I'm just helping you by being a good wingman.
"So the rumours are true!" An eerie voice echoed even before Adam could see the owner. Soon the owner of the voice appeared from the shadows like a ghost—literally, Quinn rose up from the shadows on the floor. "What are you doing here?!" Owen asked almost instantly. "Why of course I came here to register. Sure I could have sent someone to do it, but I wanted to see for myself if the rumours we're true!" Quinn said as he approached the counter. Adam watched the pale guy with an impassive face, but Internally, he was on alert. His instincts were telling him, that this boy, was dangerous.
"Here are the names in my group; Quinn Darkheart, Damien Ashbourne, Victor Crimson, Klaus Crimson, and Elijah Banks. Oh and register the group in my name!" Quinn said. After everything was done, Quinn disappeared into the shadows just like he had appeared. But not before saying, "I look forward to our next interaction Adam Walker!"
"That bastard sure is creepy!" Owen voiced out. "You think?!" Adam have him an unamused look.
After registering the last group there was, which was named group Aurora, Adam was finally done with all the registrations. "Group Aurora's line up was; Aurora De Silva, Owen Hargreaves, Hori Tokito, Lara Vostok, and Adam Walker. "Alright I'm done, let me give this to Aurora and then I'm free to go!" Adam said standing up. "Nah uh, I'm coming with you!" Owen said. With that, they both came before Aurora's office.
"Come in!" Aurora's voice echoed from the office. "Yo Aurora, what's up?!" Owen said the moment they entered. But Aurora didn't even spare him a glance. Instead her eyes were on Adam. "I take it you're done registering everyone?" she said—a statement rather than a question. "Well almost, apparently, according to the current number of freshmen, there should be two cadets who haven't registered!" Adam shrugged. "I'm aware of that. It's nothing to concern yourself over!" Aurora replied. "Yeah you heard the lady , it's nothing to worry about, let's go I'm already tired of this place!" Owen drawled.
"Then I'll see you tomorrow!" Adam said to Aurora to which she subtly nodded. "See ya Aurora!" Owen waved as both he and Adam went out the door. "Hah, finally done with that shit!" Adam heaved a sigh of relief as they arrived at the dorms.
