Chapter 67 - CHAPTER 68

"Otohime, you can't joke with your life!" King Neptune's voice boomed with anxiety, trying to persuade Queen Otohime to abandon the upcoming public speech and event she had planned.

"Don't say anything else, I'll think about it." Otohime stood up, exiting the drawing room with silent determination. Her hand, still wrapped in fresh bandages from the last incident, clenched tightly as she mentally reviewed the implications of the event and all that surrounded it.

"Alas… the two factions on Fishman Island have yet to reconcile, and now something like this happens." King Neptune sighed deeply. He knew he would need to assign more guards to Otohime in the days to come. Her safety was at risk now more than ever.

"You guys go look around the city first. I'll handle some government matters." Neptune was swamped with responsibilities lately perhaps the most demanding time since he assumed the throne.

"Okay then the King should go handle his matters. I'll take them around myself." Rin smiled and gave a casual salute. He was eager to explore Fishman Island and see the beauty of this undersea kingdom built beneath the Red Line.

Hearing this, King Neptune gave a nod of gratitude before heading off to attend his duties.

Fishman Island - Coral City

Rin, Enel, Artoria, and Casa strolled along one of the coral-paved roads, circling around Ryugu Palace. Though they acted like tourists, their sharp eyes were constantly surveying the area, looking for any suspicious movements.

"Rin-sama, why are you going so far to help Queen Otohime?" Enel asked, puzzled. His philosophy leaned toward indifference never meddling in affairs unrelated to himself. Trouble, to him, wasn't worth chasing unless it challenged his power.

"Yeah, don't tell me you've fallen for the Queen?" Casa teased, raising an eyebrow with a mischievous grin and nudging Artoria as he spoke.

"Rin must have his own reasons. Let's not jump to conclusions." Artoria responded coolly. Her instincts told her that Rin's motivations weren't romantic. He was simply moved by Otohime's ideals. After all, besides her, the only girl Rin had ever truly liked was that swordswoman named Kuina.

"That woman… Queen Otohime is kind to her people, especially her children. I just don't want to see someone like her die in vain." Rin sighed, admiring her deeply. He knew the story how she struggled for peace between Fishmen and humans, even collecting signatures under constant danger. He also knew that she was assassinated in front of her children by Hody Jones, a radical who twisted her ideals.

"But if she doesn't appreciate our help what if she insists on attending the event?" Casa asked with concern. Public events were breeding grounds for chaos. It only took one fanatic with a gun, and she might be lost forever.

"If that happens, then we'll deal with it. The four of us aren't exactly weaklings." Enel shrugged with confidence, his golden staff tapping lightly against his shoulder. He believed that as long as they kept close watch, they could prevent anything from happening.

"I hope she changes her mind before it's too late…" Rin muttered with a heavy sigh, watching the coral-shaped rooftops in the distance.

Navy Headquarters – Office of the Fleet Admiral

Bell… Bell… Bell… The Den Den Mushi on the desk came to life with its signature ring.

"Moshi Moshi. What is it?" Sengoku the Buddha answered, his calm voice masking his tension. From the other end, Tina's voice came through.

"Marshal, I've confirmed the position of the Pandora Pirates. They're currently on Fishman Island." Tina had been tracking Rin for days. After the skirmish with the Panla Pirates, she finally caught up with them.

"Excellent. But don't make any move just yet continue your surveillance." Sengoku's tone grew stern. "We can't let Rin slip away again."

"Understood." Tina's voice was firm. She wouldn't fail the Fleet Admiral's trust.

"And pay extra attention to that woman, Artoria. The Five Elders are particularly curious about the so-called secret of immortality in her body." Sengoku leaned back, his gaze falling to the portrait of the World Government's leaders. Artoria's strength, mysterious past, and ageless appearance unsettled them all. A woman who'd lived nearly a century and still looked no older than twenty such a mystery could not be ignored.

"I'll keep a close watch," Tina affirmed, fully aware that Artoria wasn't just a beautiful woman she was a warrior who could stand against vice admirals, maybe even admirals.

"If they show any sign of endangering the Navy or the World Government.report it immediately. We may need to consider bringing Rin into the Warlords system if he proves uncontrollable." Sengoku's voice grew colder. He couldn't allow another wildcard like Blackbeard running loose.

"Yes, sir…" Tina replied, then hung up, preparing to continue her covert watch.

Ryugu Palace

Rin and the others returned after their brief scouting, finding nothing unusual around the perimeter. But as they passed a towering pink coral room, Rin suddenly halted.

"Captain, why'd you stop?" Casa raised an eyebrow, noticing the grand door ahead.

"Let's take a look inside." Rin's voice was calm. He recognized the room immediately from the records he'd studied, this was Princess Shirahoshi's bedroom.

"Alright." The others followed without question.

Inside, the room was enormous every decoration scaled to match a giant. A plush rubber duck was nearly adult-sized, and glittering shells lined the walls. In the center, nestled into an equally massive bed, was Princess Shirahoshi herself, daughter of Queen Otohime and the Sea King Neptune.

"Hello, Princess Shirahoshi." Rin stepped forward with a friendly smile, his tone gentle.

"You… who are you?" Shirahoshi squeaked in fear, her eyes wide with panic. She immediately dove under her covers, trembling.

"Don't be afraid. I'm a guest of your parents. I won't hurt you." Rin tried to soften his voice, but Shirahoshi only burrowed deeper beneath the sheets.

"Rin, you're too forward. Let me try." Artoria stepped forward, a soft chuckle escaping her lips. Something maternal stirred in her as she looked upon the timid mermaid princess.

"Alright—maybe you girls are better at handling girls." Rin chuckled helplessly and stepped back, letting Artoria take the lead.

"Hello there." Artoria approached the bed, kneeling slightly to speak at Shirahoshi's eye level.

"You… who are you?" Shirahoshi peeked out, still nervous but her eyes widened when she saw Artoria.

"I promise I won't hurt you. Come out, little princess." Artoria's voice was warm, almost like a lullaby. Her golden armor shimmered slightly, but it didn't frighten Shirahoshi. Instead, the sight mesmerized her.

"You… are you also a guest of my mom and dad?" Shirahoshi asked timidly, enchanted by Artoria's beauty. Aside from her mother, no one had ever looked so graceful and kind in Shirahoshi's eyes.
