We were trapped. Before we could react, someone shattered the window and reached in. They grabbed us and injected something into our bodies.
I lost consciousness. When I finally woke up, I found myself in a laboratory with a mask over my head.
Suhee, Ms. Chaeyoon, Mr. Park, and the village chief were nowhere to be seen.
I heard footsteps approaching, so I pretended to be asleep. Someone came near and lifted the bag off my head. To my surprise, it was Mr. Park.
I was confused.
Why was Mr. Park the one removing the bag?
As if reading my mind, he said, "The reason we had to bring you in like this was to make the 'GID' believe we were kidnapped. It bought us a bit of time."
I asked, "What is this 'GID' you speak of?"
He replied, "GID stands for God Is Dead. It's a division of The Organization. The ones who experimented on you and Suhee, they're part of it."
He then untied me. My hands, red and swollen from being bound for so long, ached as I stood up. When I stepped out of the room, Suhee came running into my arms.
I was ecstatic to see that Suhee was normal again.
With tears in her eyes, she said sorry repeatedly, apologising for acting indifferent towards me.
It felt to me like situations like this were happening too often.
Ms. Chaeyoon appeared and called all of us into another room.
