Chapter 48 - Visit

The next day, "Wake up" Enis softly called in my ear. She woke up earlier than me today. I lazily got up, and after she helped me dress, she brought water to wash my face. Truly, you couldn't find a more virtuous partner anywhere. "Thanks, I can do it myself," I said, taking the towel to thank her. After washing up, Enis took the water away, and I went to the kitchen to prepare breakfast: fried eggs, cream buns, and milk. After eating, we went to the farm to feed the chickens and cows, then checked the rose garden to ensure everything in the yard was fine. We then arrived at an open area. "Ready? Hold my hand," she said. "Mm," I grabbed her hand. "Here we go," she said, instantly transporting us back to the human world near the Tianlai Holy Training Base. The familiar scenery felt like returning home, stirring emotions in me. "Where do you want to go?" she asked. "I want to check it out. Oh, can you do invisibility magic? I want to sneak into the base." "I can," Enis replied. "How do you know everything?" I said, surprised, patting her head. "Of course" she laughed, casting a spell to make us both invisible. We boldly entered through the front gate, unseen. I wanted to check the dorms first. My dorm was empty—where was everyone? Disappointed, I walked out and headed to the back of the base, where I saw heroes and expedition team members sparring in the training field. "Those guys are so weak yet full of self-righteous justice. Disgusting," Enis said, watching the heroes. "Well, they're just fulfilling their mission. You're just too strong," I said, shaking my head. "But my teammates might be here. Let me look." I scanned around and spotted Feigo, Nohua, and Naan, but no Shinobu. Had something happened to him? Everyone was watching the heroes spar. After a while, I told Enis we could leave. "Done so soon?" she asked. "I've got a sense of how everyone's doing. Can we go to one more place?" I said. "Sure, it's still early," she replied casually. "It's the Bona family who took me in, not far from here. We can fly there quickly. Let's go," I said. "No way, unless you carry me while flying~" she teased playfully. I had no choice but to pick her up and fly toward Bona's house. After about ten minutes of flying, we arrived at Huatian Village. We saw Bona and her father working in the fields below. We landed gently and stood by the field, watching them. "She's a pretty cute girl," Enis said. "Yeah, when I first came to this world, she took me in and cared for me. I owe their family a lot," I said. "Do you like her?" Enis asked. "No way, Bona's like a little sister to me. It's purely sibling affection," I answered firmly. "Then I'll treat her like a sister too," Enis said with a smile. I walked up to Bona, who couldn't see me, and wrote on the ground with my finger: I'm fine in the demon world. Wait for my return. —Bai. Bona stared at the words in shock. "Big Brother Bai? Dad! Dad! Come quick!" I quickly left. "Enis, that's enough for now. Let's head back," I said. "Okay," she said, taking my hand and bringing us back to the demon world."Home again," I said, patting her shoulder with a smile. "So, are we training today?" she asked. "Of course! Let's keep working on my sword skills!"
