Chapter 4 - The other and a cat?

"Hey, isn't it strange there aren't any separate bedrooms in this cabin?" Winter remarked to Eldo, breaking the silence.

"Don't distract me. I'm pondering," Eldo replied, slapping his face to refocus.

Winter strolled to his bed and laid down with a book in his hand.

"Hey kid, don't worry about it right now, alright... I'll tell you what you want to know tomorrow, kay?" Winter said, letting out a yawn.

Eldo remained silent, unsure whether to sleep next to the stranger.

Suddenly, the two heard a knock on the door. Winter sprang up, walking to the door while Eldo struggled to get up once again.

"How many times am I going to have to deal with this crap? This cabin was lent to me!" Eldo said wearily.

"Hey, dumbass, this is my cabin. Now worry about falling asleep; I'll take care of this unwanted guest," Winter snapped back, opening the door.

To Winter's surprise, he saw another boy wearing a helmet with a cat in his arms.

"Oh brother..." Winter said, almost ready to close the door in the boy's face.

"Hey, wait! I need a place to stay!" The boy insisted quickly.

"Yeah, well, you aren't the only one," Winter said, turning his head toward Eldo.

"Oh, so there is someone else resting here as well?" The boy asked, peering down.

"Yup. It sucks to suck...Hope you find what you're looki-."

Before Winter finished his reply, Eldo pushed him aside.

"Hey, what are you waiting for...come in! This is my cabin, after all, and I say you're allowed to stay," Eldo said to the other boy, empathizing with his sense of desperation.

"Oh, thank you, thank you!" The boy exclaimed with glee as he hopped inside.

"And it looks like there is a spare bed for me too!" The boy continued.

"No, no, no. We are not doing this today," Winter said, pinching his forehead in frustration.

The boy's cat meowed and jumped off his shoulders onto the vacant bed, seemingly having already made itself at home.

"Yay! New house pet!" Eldo exclaimed, jumping up in the air.

Too tired to deal with the boys so late at night, Winter decided to let it go for now. The three of them shortly proceeded to get a good night of sleep.

But you know it never ends just like that, now does it.
