Later that night, as the boy rested, an unexpected knock echoed through the cabin. Startled, he hurried to the door, peering through the tiny hole to identify the visitor.
To his surprise, there was no one. The boy cautiously opened the door and stepped out.
"Hey! This isn't funny!" he exclaimed. "Who goes up to someone's cabin in the middle of the night anyway?" he continued, groggy from sleep.
Growing frustrated, the boy turned to head back into the cabin, only to be grabbed from behind, a knife raised to his throat.
"Heh, you shouldn't be here," the sinister figure declared.
Panicking, the boy pleaded, "PLEASE DON'T KILL ME! I'll do ANYTHING you want!"
"Anything I want, eh?" The figure chuckled, gradually moving the knife away.
"YES, ANYTHING, JUST DON'T KILL ME!" the boy pleaded, shaking uncontrollably.
"I want you to relax, dude!" The figure laughed, lowering the knife. "I'm not actually gonna hurt ya."
The bewildered boy stammered, "I...ya...wha...uh...you...Huh?"
"I just had to make sure you weren't out to get me. I have to deal with that a lot, you know, with this being my cabin and all," the mysterious man explained, nonchalantly entering the cabin to prepare a midnight snack.
The boy followed, still in disbelief that the cabin belonged to this mysterious intruder.
"Can you at least tell me who you are?" the boy asked, running out of patience.
"The name's Winter, Winters! But you can call me Winter," the cloaked man replied with charisma.
"Yeah, I don't buy that for even a second..." the boy retorted.
"Alright, fine, whatever, man. Just call me Winter. That's what I'm known as anyway," Winter conceded.
"Okay, if you say so, Winter, Winters..." the boy said, rolling his eyes.
"I'm Eldo Chefera, but just stick with Eldo," the boy finally introduced himself.
"Great, so now we sort of kind of know each other, I guess..." Winter remarked, devouring his snack.
Eldo, still not fully trusting Winter, sat on his bed, pondering the possible ulterior motives this mysterious man might have up his sleeve.
"I mean, who greets a stranger with a KNIFE to their throat," he thought.
