Logan's heart slammed against his ribcage. His eyes narrowed. "She's in danger."
The lawyers stood as well, alarmed. The shareholders stared.
"Henry," Logan growled, slipping off his blazer and rolling up his sleeves. "Call building security. Get the elevator ready. We're going to check every damn floor of this building."
"But what about the registrar…?"
"She's not here to get married," Logan snapped. "She's trying to get out of something and that's exactly where she's stuck."
And he wasn't going to let her face it alone.

The air in the boardroom was too still. Too quiet.
Jean's heels clicked against the polished floor as she stepped in, her instincts already on alert. The floor was eerily empty.
Not a soul in sight when she reached here. Even the usual chatter of office noise… phones ringing, printers humming, footsteps echoing… had vanished.
