I opened my eyes, and as soon as I did, I closed them again.
Why does my head hurt so much?
I made another attempt to open my eyes, only to be greeted by the white room that could only belong to a hospital.
Why am I here?
Then the memory hit me — a truck wanting to send me to the next world... and someone pushing me out of the way, only for me to take a surprise nap when my head gave the sidewalk a high five.
I had the weirdest dream, though.
I was reincarnated and chosen to save this fantasy-like world. I fought goblins and undead...
Even got married to an elf queen.
I need to stop watching anime late at night.
I'm rambling again. I looked around the hospital room, yet before I could sit up, a blur shot at me — and before I could even register what was happening, I felt strong arms wrap around me.
And... was that red hair?
I looked down, only for my suspicions to be proven true as I saw a mop of red hair.
It was Kushina.
Yet before I could say her name, I heard something.
Was she... crying?
I froze, my mind coming to a halt. The idea of the strong, hot-headed Kushina crying wasn't something I could picture — or knew how to handle.
So I slowly and hesitantly wrapped my arms around her and began to pat her on the back.
"It's okay... it's okay."
But instead of letting go, her hug only tightened, as if I would disappear if she let go for even a second.
Yet my attention was drawn to another set of footsteps.
As I looked up, I saw Mom standing in the doorway, smiling at the sight in front of her.
I could see how her shoulders relaxed and how the stress that had once overtaken her drained away.
And I could only smile back, a little embarrassed.
I heard a soft laugh leave her mouth.
A second later, I saw Lizz walk in. She had brown hair tied back in a messy bun, oversized glasses, and a shy smile.
I remembered when I used to hang out with her brother. We used to cause so much trouble — we were teammates in the World Warhammer tournament...
I miss him...
